Ruben Studdard is back on the scene, with his new single, “Together” from his upcoming album, Love Is, due out late this spring (tentatively May 19). Love Is will be the follow-up to Ruben’s third album, The Return, which dropped in October of 2006. He took a break from recording to headline the revival tour of Ain’t Misbehavin’, starring alongside fellow American Idol alums, Trenyce and Frenchie Davis.
On the album, the Birmingham native recorded with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who are known well for their unique sound.

this guy has a nice voice, I just hope this time he’ll get someone to write some mature lyrics, coz his sound is solid, just teh “shorty, booty, crib, whatever other slang used tht doesnt suite his voice- which has a potential of keeping him in teh biz for a long time

i was expected more from ruben…..it sounds like a song u would hear in a tyler perry movie while the credits are rolling….i was expected more of a urban, r & b spin on it…kinda like the DREAM….this song sounds too 80′s…..if his album is released with songs like this its not gonna sale much…..if ruben wants to stay in the game hes got to come with it! and i hoping he does…because he has a very talented voice.

Truly the best voice of our time. I hate that he could not have work with great song-writers and producers to release a hot album. They certainly did not do Ruben Studdard or his voice any justice. This man reminds me of a modern day blend of Sam Cooke, Teddy Pendergrass, and Al Green. Remarkable voice, and should have been a prominent player into day R&B Slow Jamz. Truly, truly unrecognized.

Ruben was definately one of the most talented artists to come out of American Idol, but the music he released was wayy too subpar- cheesey even.
He needs some good old soul songs, with a touch of contemporary r&b and he’ll do fine. He needs better promotion though! His label aren’t doing much for him

i like Ruben Studdard’s songs. He seems to get pushed to the back everytime he releases songs/albums. he can actually sing & is talented. his songs all do sound similar,but so do a lot of other artists.

I love me some ruben. I stop watching american idol because they did him dirty. When they said clay gay ass album was coming out the same day, i was like damn the black man can not get no shine. They was promoting clay like he win idol. He have a wonderful voice he need to use it just like jennifer.
I actually think he could fill Luther’s missing slot. Very smooth and naturally talented singers that don’t need to yell to send you into a spell…

We should support Ruben. He’s got an awesome voice. He needs better marketing. How on earth did Clay Aiken get so popular? He’s a good singer,but has zero style. Guess what? White America bought his corny ass CDs. Some of them bought more than one. We can do the same.
