After the drama of her label has cleared, Eve has decided to scrap her Here I Am project, and will trade higher on a new, re-branded project, which she has decided to title Flirt.
“It won’t be called Here I Am anymore,” she said. “Now it’s called Flirt. I had to get in there and put in some upbeat music that I wasn’t depressed about,” she said of the new tracks.
“It’s fun, it’s sexy, it’s totally me. Imagine if ‘Tambourine’ had kids — that’s what the CD sounds like.”
I’m glad that Eve is staying positive about this project, because I really feel like “Tambourine” could have been a great movement for her. It was just so much fun. Also, I think that this title and sound is more suitable for her image — Eve has really transformed herself into an ultra-feminine, style-driven artist. She is very well respected in the fashion community, and I think this new record, slated to hit stores later this year, should reflect that.
LETOYA PREPS NEW VIDEO
Former Destiny’s Child bandmate LeToya Luckett released her first single from her long-awaited sophomore album, Lady Love, which is set to hit stores April 7th. Although the song hasn’t heated up on radio yet, sources say that Luckett will turn up the heat for the video clip of the Bei Maejor-produced, Ne-Yo-penned song.
The video for “♫ Not Anymore” will be shot this weekend in Los Angeles, and apparently will be shot as a “mini-movie.” Director Bryan Barber (known for his work with OutKast) says “the treatment calls for nothing you’ve seen from the R&B songstress before, conceptually and visually.” The video will be set in the early 1960′s, but will have a modern feel similar to Barber’s video for Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man.”
Sounds quite interesting! I hope Miss Luckett pulls of the video, to generate some more success for this new single. Continue
