The Obamas gave their first formal White House dinner as hosts to the National Governors Association which has been holding their 2009 winter meeting discussing Obama’s stimulus program, health care, infrastructure and education.

kellyshow.png After officially leaving her management a month ago, Kelly Rowland is set to host a fashion reality television series on Bravo appropriately titled “Fashion Show”:

The cable channel has named acclaimed designer Isaac Mizrahi and former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland as co-hosts and judges, with fashion luminary Fern Mallis as a judge on “The Fashion Show.”

On “Fashion Show,” pro designers will compete in challenges that will be judged by professionals in the fashion world as well as by the studio audience. The rabble gets a say-so because the ultimate prize is having the winner’s designs sold by a major retail outlet. SOURCE

“Fashion Show” is set to air on Bravo TV later this year.

And keeping with celebrity reality TV news - Fomer TLC member Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Brian McKnight, and model Claudia Jordan are some of the folks who will be part of the second season of “Celebrity Apprentice”.

This season features 16 famous contestants who will be competing for the coveted title as they fight for their respective charities and causes. They will face judgment in the boardroom by Donald Trump, as well as, his two children, Donald Trump, Jr. and Ivanka Trump.

Other celebrity contestants on the show include Dennis Rodman and Khloe Kardashian - the 2-hour premiere will air on NBC March 1st.

In an era when America traveled by train, one of the best jobs a black man could land was working as a Pullman porter. It also was one of the worst. The hours were grueling — 16 hours a day, seven days a week. The first Pullman porters, hired after the Civil War, were former slaves. Their ranks swelled until they reached 20,000 in the early part of the 20th century, making them the largest group of African-American men employed in the country.
