I’m glad Michelle is working closely with education and showing that CHANGE is a family effort! Malia looks very intense maybe another future politician!

I’m also glad that Michelle is sticking to her own style and not wearing suits to every event as the First ladies in the past have done the new First Family is really showing a real hands on we understand your needs style!

@11 (Tabby) you are ignorance at its finest….who asked you what you think about her fashion, looks, or shape and quite frankly who gives a damn what you think. Next time leave your ignorance to yourself and keep it moving when you see a post regarding the First Lady. What makes you think she has to measure up to your standards any way….just because she is Black you feel you should comment on things that have no meaning. Did you expect the same of the previous First Ladies. I’ve never heard of the First Lady being judged by rather she is a fashion icon, beauty, or her shape. Do me a favor and listen to what comes out of her mouth; instead of concentrating on her exterior. Follow her path which will definitely lead you to some eductation!!!!!!!!!!!

Freemama

Thursday, February 19, 2009 /

#11 What would make her a fashion icon? What would make her pretty? What would make her shapely?? You make these negative statements, what standards are you using to measure fashion, beauty, and body image??? Think before you type! She has enough of what is needed to be a fashion icon for what SHE likes, pretty enough for Barack, and Our Creator made her body so I guess He didn’t make a mistake!!! Compliment people without the negative crap!

The girls are adorable, its great that they act and look normal and not spoilt bratz (like Aoki Simmons lol).
Michelle looks fabulous as always, but its great that she hosts such important events. She is a great first lady already!

Lol at the boy taking the picture, he’s like “my friends aren’t gonna believe this, let me take a picture to proove it, smile Sasha”

You will always have someone to breathe negativity into something very positive going on…You have to simply over look them…Its obvious they dont swim on the deep side of the pool..Swallow end suit them just fine…

Michelle O…Is Class and Creativity…You have to make your path not to always follow the past.
The Kids..adorable..My grandmother was with us everywhere..lol when we went to disney world she was right there on the rides with us..whatever we needed she was right by our side( sibilings )When my mother had to work. So I have mad love for the grandmother too…The kids are blessed.

Love it all!

She is very inspiring and a great role model for WOMEN not just young girls. Even grown women can look to her as inspiration that yes you can be a wife, and mother and still have a sense of purpose that makes you an individual….and she does it w/ such ease, grace, and elegance.

Go head Michelle !

HONEST CRITIC

Thursday, February 19, 2009 /

She looks great and what she is doing is also great. I too am glad that she hasn’t changed her J. Crew style nor her daughters’ styles.

#11- you’re a pure idiot. Had she been a fashion icon I’m sure you would be in here complaining about how she’s more worried about her looks than helping with the country. By the way her style is great an suitable. She was a lawyer now a first lady dressed professionally. You wanna see her in some skinny heels and jeans or something?

First….My First Family Looks Great! Not only are the kids beautiful, but so is the Mother and Father! Michelle O is an ICON! She fashionable skilled, if you had a sense of style @ 11 you would’ve known there are several ways to express your individuality with a trend, instead of her following the normal first lady trends suits, hats etc….she is sitting and paving a way for a new ideal style! Suits and a 4 inch pump don’t classify a fashion sense! She looks very modish in her outfit and I love it! She very beautiful and her shape is flawless, NOW YOU TELL ME WHAT 40 and OVER WOMEN you know who can compliment her shape respectively and classy? And in fact what 40 year old lady you know has a shape like Michelle O! My point exactly!

Gone on head First Lady, continue the change! Speak out about how your family has changed Black History and History forever! Teach children of color that they can be whatever they set their sights on to do. If you can dream it you can achieve it! @ 11 you must be a hater, because the First Lady empowers all you believe to be negative. When you can stand up and support your man, take care of his children, be independent and still play your role. Then you may speak about OUR First Lady, until then have a nice large cup of STFU with a hot side of STFD!

Thursday, February 19, 2009 /

@11

Being a fashion icon, being pretty or having a nice shape didn’t get Michelle Obama to where she is today! So your rant is just pointless hating!

I’d rather have a normal looking (yet attractive in her own way) first lady who has a brain, than a Video Vixen looking first lady oozing fashion sense with Marilyn Monroe’s body yet can’t spell her own name!

IMO Michelle has an elegant and classic sense of style! She knows what works for her and her body!

Give the woman credit! She may not be the best looking woman around but she must have a hell of alot of swag and confidence! Just look at her husband!

Case closed!

#11 you have a right to your own opinion, but what I would like you to concentrate on is that this woman is fine example for women, and not just women of color. she exemplifies the fact that women can be “Joans” of all trades, she is a wonderful mother, who keeps normalcy in her family’s life, she doesn’t let position effect her way of living, she is still frugal, and she is extremely intelligent! We should all want to be like her but add our own little flavor to our future goals just like she did. To speak negatively of her outer appearance does not represent you well and you should look inside yourself to see what it is that make you put people down, because i am sure Michelle is not the only victim of your opinionated verbal abuse. I hope and pray that you will check yourself instead of someone else.

The Real Why?

Thursday, February 19, 2009 /

#11…???….huh??

only a fashion icon (michelle obama) can make a relatively unknown designer (jason wu) the hottest thing in the fashion industry. pls stop.

and i happen to think she’s very pretty…sure, she could use braces but she’s still beautiful

and she’s not shapely?? r u serious, child?? that woman has an AMAZING body…the fact that you would say otherwise just shows ur a hater…for a 45-year old woman with 2 kids, her body is INSANE. stop the hate.

The First Lady is classy. She is dressed appropriately. You don’t have to wear thousand dollars shoes, endless jewelry and dresses that are overpriced and show every inch of your body. She has class and the only person she has to please is herself. If she like it, I love it. Keep stepping First lady.

Green shirt kid looks sprung and starstruck. He’s getting a look at diversified power and beauty at a young age. Hopefully it will shape the perception of him and other kids in a positive way concerning race and females. All races need to just try and take care of one another in this country and world. I know it’s a large hope but hope is a good thing. Meanwhile people can stay grounded in reality and fight hard for every inch of their destiny.

The corn rolls look too ghetto to be representing a First family. And Obama is BIRACIAL and Michell and Barack are an interracial couple not a normal black couple. Any other time that’s how it would be seen in society. But I guess this gets the excuse pass this time. (rolls eyes)

68.

Chi-Town

Thursday, February 19, 2009 /

#67. I don’t know what world you live in but society would not see the Obama’s as an interracial couple. I also think its beautiful to see Malia wear corn roll (french braids— for the folks born in the 80’s and earlier LOL)

69.

PunkRocknegro

Thursday, February 19, 2009 /

@ 67 I disagree about the cornrows being too “ghetto.” That term like “the race card” are too often part of the new century undercover racist terms. At the very least the term “ghetto” has expanded to mean all things considered Black, and not just underclass,or downscale. The girl is clean and beautiful and dressed for a child’s day. Should her hair be pressed and slick like she’s ready for a red carpet? We need to let girls be little girls and stop trying to turn them into living dolls. It’s not needed. Also I agree about the Obamas. Obama is biracial and that’s how I see him. I don’t try to force biracial people into colour boxes. Our country does though. For this reason as well as the “one drop rule” many people, even Blacks see them as simply a Black family.

Having such a support system is great. It’s such a huge responsibility to be the first Black family in the White House. Let’s please continue to support our First Family as they represent not only for Black people but also for the rest of the United States.
