Check out this sneak peek of BET’s new reality series, ‘Harlem Heights,’ think ‘Baldwin Hills’ for 20-somethings..
Dubbed as a half-hour reality docu-drama, the show highlights the ups and downs of several young, African-American professionals struggling to balance hectic work schedules with complicated social lives. The series is set to premiere Monday, March 2nd at 10pm EST.
I’m not going to lie, it looks interesting. I just hate when they try to pass something off as real. We all know this is scripted, but hey we’ll see how it turns out.

It looks interesting, but its sooo scripted.
So Brookes title is the ‘IT girl’ but what exactly does she do for a living?
Some of the guys in this are fine so if this show is on in the UK i’ll watch
Brook is a TV Producer for MTV. Not as if people are looking for a big break here. Everyone on the show is big business from the political level to the fashion world already. So let me see, you can watch the Flavor of Love, the Flavor of Love 2, I Love New York, I Love New York 2, A Real Chance at Love, I Love Money, I Love Money 2 and I Love Ray J which are all spin offs with no originality but not watch successful black people doing positive things in the biggest US City, New York, Im confused. Trust, you will love it.
that aint my harlem sounds fake
I won’t be watching this. I don’t have a problem with black people doing sucessful things, I’m just sick of “reality TV,” especially BET’s low budget spin on MTV concepts.
Speaking of, is “Baldwin Hills,” still on the air? What about “College Hill,”?
BET should hold a contest for the best concepts of “reality TV/comedy sitcoms”, that would be interesting…….
Googling Pierre…that man is scrumptious. I was all in my computer monitor looking at him. Kanye’s ex is cute and she seems sophisticated, but she seems like one of those chicks that would be annoying as hell after a while.
lmaoo..this shit looks soo stupid…
eventho i will be watching..
its so scripted and fake….
I THINK THIS SHOW IS THE ONLY WAY BET CAN & WILL GET PEOPLE TO WATCH THEIR WACK-ASS NETWORK.
WE ALLLLL MISS THE OLD BET. VIACOM IS NOT EVEN TRYING TO LET US HAVE OUR ORIGINALITY BACK.
SO IF THIS SHOW IS THE BEST BET CAN DO TO STAY ON THE AIR, THEN…….
Wow, Brooke walks like a duck…check the .38 mark.
I thought Brooke was an executive assistant
Lamar:
You are right… I know about 6 of the people in the show. Someone said this isn’t My Harlem…? You need to get out in Harlem More Often… There are more Educated Black Professionals in Harlem than ever before… Hopefully the kids I teach will watch the show and realize an education is the best way to move up in this world, instead of trying to be hustlers. I am tired of going to court on behalf of my students. I went to Morehouse with two of the cast members, they some real dudes. April 4th one of them is hosting a community service project on 116th and 8th… A Block Clean up I believe… and i think some of the cast is going to be there. I support anyone who is trying to do something positive in my hood. Grant Houses Stand Up!!!
Smokey
Seems like they captured the essence of what its like to be young, gifted, and black in NYC (with money).
I can tell this is nyc because everyone looks fly. NYC is the home of the fashion so they better represent!!
As far as it being scripted-
All realities shows are probably scripted or at least manipulated to heighten the conflict. We all want to be entertained so I don’t have a problem with it unless the cast makes it unbelievable. I think it looks interesting tho. At the end of the day, it wont be as ignorant as some of them other shows.
# 53: lol, that bothered me as well, no more poets and revolutionaries? So who are the new inhabitants? However, i will be watching!!! i love to see people like me represented; young, black professionals on the grind.
I will definitely be checking this out but I wish these shows weren’t so scripted. How can they call it reality when its not REAL!! They are humans, living REAL lives, but they be acting and putting on for the cameras hella much. For ex:Why is everyone crying at the club???These people seem like they are about to be doing the most. The chick with the short hair cut is scandalousss.
can they make sure to make this show one hour? they give 106 and Park two hours why can’t they make this one just an hour? Please make the show more cohesive too. not choppy like baldwin hills.
I don’t plan on tuning in…Being That the company that owns mtv also owns BET,all they do is take the same shows that MTV have, and put all black people on them..Baldwin Hills,Harlem heights, even the dang show titles sound the same
I help but Can’t wait
I can’t help but wait
This is a good look. Nice to see positive representations of black people on TV..and successful at that. Well done BET!
I’m tired of “REALITY TV”. When is somebody gonna sit down and write a good sitcom. This sucks!
Hopefully this show will leave an impression on people of all color. for once we have a show that portray’s young african americans in a positive light, and not just as some overly urban ebonic’s speaking male or female acting a fool…like other reality shows. All ya’ll with the negativity should fall back and watch bc this is something that WE could be proud of!
