Missy Elliott’s Block Party project was put on hold, due to the success failure of her alleged first single, “Best, Best,” which was produced by Danjahandz. Even though I really liked the track, and could see it performing well with a video (Missy is known for having unique clips for her singles), it was under promoted. But this new snippet featuring Teyana Taylor and Pharrell Williams, produced by The Neptunes has leaked, and it indeed sounds like the respective album title – a block party.

Seems as though J. Holiday’s new album, Round 2, is shaping up to have more love songs, which is great, because it will be representative of his singles. “Heart Attack” is actually a pretty cool track. I enjoy J. Holiday’s voice, but 2007′s Back of My ‘Lac just wasn’t a full batch of enjoyable material. Although there’s no official tracklisting confirmed yet for Round 2, I’m hoping that Holiday follows this direction. These are the type of tracks ladies want to hear from him.

Check out this new track from Estelle, whom I got to see live the other night and absolutely fell in love with. Her voice sounds amazing live. I dug her debut album, Shine, but seeing her live just gave me a new appreciation for her voice and her as an artist. “Star” is a little different from anything that she recorded previously on her United States debut, but Estelle mentioned that she was trying some different sounds on the new album. I’m excited to see what she comes up with.

With all of this Chris Brown and Rihanna drama going on, I’m glad that they didn’t put this version of the track on the Confessions of a Shop-A-holic soundtrack. I wasn’t really a fan of the song to begin with, which is strange, because I hugely dig Polow Da Don productions, so hearing this new version is neither here nor there to me. But does this mean that the Dolls have already begun work on a third album?
Too bad I can’t hear it..
Brian the Bad Girl song is for the “Confressions Of A Shopoholic” soundtrack.
