UPDATE: JAY-Z SPEAKS ON RIHANNA / RIHANNA’S FATHER SPEAKS

I’ve been getting emails from readers asking why I haven’t been updating on the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident and it’s because I REFUSE TO POST SPECULATIONS AND RUMORS. However, I will post statements and facts.

With that said, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z spoke with People Magazine on Saturday night about the incident and expressed his support for Rihanna.

This is a real situation,” he said in Phoenix at the Sprite Green presents the Third Annual Two Kings dinner with Jay-Z and Lebron James, as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend.

You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that. I just think we should all support her. She’s going through a tough time. You have to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young.”

Asked if he’d seen Rihanna, Jay-Z replied, “I don’t want to go into it.” [source]

RIHANNA’S FATHER SPEAKS

People also had a chance to speak to Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, this past Thursday:

When he first heard that his daughter had been attacked by Chris Brown, “I didn’t believe it.”

“I know my daughter,” said Fenty, 55. As for Brown, he said, “You think you know somebody, but you really don’t.”

Describing Rihanna’s current condition after seeing her in Barbados on Thursday, Fenty said, “There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so.”

He adds, “At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.” [SOURCE]

According to her father, Rihanna is currently recouping in Barbados with friends and family. Chris Brown, on the other hand, is reportedly in Virgina with family and is expected to be back in LA on March 5th for his scheduled court date.

SShe got a nice looking Daddy. Everyone is pretty vague about the incident…guess gotta wait

All of ya’ll defending chris saying “HE’S YOUNG…blah, blah, blah”
Well yeh he is young but that doesn’t mean anything. I’m younger than chris and my older broth just turned 21 2 weeks ago. He would never dare hit a woman because he has a little sister and was raised by a single mom and deadbeat (emphasis on the word DEAD) who used to beat up on his mom and little sister. man i hate women beaters, i’m truly surprised at chris

  3. We haven’t heard either side of the story yet……..And I am so glad Angel hasn’t been posting the nonesense. All they are calling this is an “incident” so I wish them both the best!!!

Jayz could care less about anyone’s mother, sister or daughter. He is just worried about Rihanna exposes him for his role in this matter. Get well soon Rhianna. Good Luck Chris. Poor Beyonce. Wonder if she has an STD too?

“countless of kids will drop out of school because of people like rihanna and here is why- rihanna has the a mediocre voice many girls her age have and she has had tremendous success, now a girl her age wil be thinkin well if rihanna can do it, then so can i- i need to pursue this career. then bang- out of school.”

Don’t worry about the Bajan youth(or Caribbean youth for that matter). They are very educated. They don’t have a drop out rate like AA. When Rhianna says she’s not educated she’s talking about university level-not high school like someone I will not mention. Worry about AA kids and all the bad influences they’ve had in the music industry.*wink*

im tired of hearing is “chris needs help”
if him seeing his dad beat his mom doesnt make him not want to hit a woman
what makes u think somebody talking to him will????
He needs to go to jail…and he needs to see the consquences of his actions by gettin his lil pretty azz hit (with a prison sentence)

    Yo daughter should’nt talk slick

  9. Blkmarilyn

Damn, this whole thing is tragic!

  10. Mommy x 2

the real tragedy in all of this is that anyone would defend someone who committed an act of violence against another person. i know we don’t know everything just yet but we do know that an altercation occurred that left rihanna with bruises. so unless she pummeled her own face in, somebody had to have been the perpertrator of such an act against her. and to suggest that an assault on her is somehow justified by her supposed “provoking” it is ree–dic–u–lus!! this is why so many female assault victims do not come forward because their assailant winds up garnering all of the support and becoming the victim instead.

NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE, BUT THEY WILL BE OKAY…TRUST THAT…WE SHOULD HAVE AS MUCH GUMPSION ABOUT SUPPORTING WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN ABUSED WHO ARE NOT CELEBS…THIS REALLY HITS HOME TO ME BECAUSE I’VE EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR SITUATION, LIKE MANY OTHER WOMEN.

okay, sorry but i think this is getting blown way out of proportion. yeah, it’s terrible that chris brown abused rihanna and yeah, he should not have done it, but honestly, people are only making such a gigantic deal about it because they’re both famous. domestic violence happens every single day and yet it’s only “important” when it happens to a celebrity. i personally feel that chris brown did beat rihanna but i think he’s truly sorry for what he did and feels terrible about it. i think that he just lost his temper and, while he may have overreacted, people DO do stupid, regrettable things due to their lost tempers. i don’t think he needs to be condemned forever for this, but that’s how it looks like it’s going to turn out.

  13. hot girl

you r a bad girlfriend and i am happy that he beat your butt and i do not like u

rihanna needs to get over it!!
