The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an internal investigation and filed a personnel complaint after a photo leaked late Thursday of what appears to be a bruised Rihanna following the alleged incident with Chris Brown on Grammy weekend.
“The unauthorized release of a domestic-violence photograph immediately generated an internal investigation,” an LAPD spokesman said in statement about the photo, which appeared on TMZ. “The Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Section began receiving numerous inquiries about the release of a photograph associated with a domestic violence incident that occurred on February 8, 2009, involving entertainer Chris Brown.
The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence,” the LAPD asserted in the statement. “A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.”
They really should get handle their business privately

I felt some type of way. I think that today “journalists” are taking stuff too far. NO, the LAPD should not have released the photo. Rihanna is a domestic violence victim. She should have the same rights as anyone else. Conversley, I also realize that seeing the picture made the situation real for so many people. That does not make it right. LAPD needs to get it together, and whoever TMZ paid to get the photo needs to be fired.

I think that the photo being released is an invasion of privacy. However I aint gonna lie I really wanted to see if it was true, I just did not want to believe it. Its messed up either way.

I posted the statement the LAPD released yesterday on the other page. I am glad the picture was paid for because people are still saying Rihanna deserved it. These pictures should not have been shown because they skew the people’s opinion about an on going investigation. And let’s be clear, these photos may not tell the WHOLE story. We see pics of her but we still don’t know what HE looked like after the altercation. Men are also abused. It carries an awful stigma and usually goes unreported. This may not be the case with them but it should be up for a jury to decide based on facts and truth- not TMZ bottom feeders.
Whoever leaked the photo supposedly got 100,000 dollars. So they figured hey me and my family going to eat good. Eff rihanna’s feelings. Smh

I think the LAPD leaked the pics b/c of rumors that Chris & Rihanna was reconciling. They made it their business to terminate Chris’ career and force Rihanna to cooperate. It’s a dirty business but this is America so $ talks. I’m sure TMZ paid top dollar for that picture.

Ok so let me get this straight…CB and Rhi get into a fight. The true facts have yet to be given. We have a pic of Ri and nothing of CB. We have a statement from CB and not from Ri. And the media and everyone is just making up their own theories (I have my own). SOOOO suddenly everyone wants to stop supporting CB, stop listening to his music?! Correct me if I am wrong, people support pedophiles (um for example R. Kelly), support drug addicts (take your pick), support alcoholics (take your pick), support steriod users (MLB)!!!!!! It’s good that the picture shows that it wasn’t just a couple of bruisings (that’s what I thought it was) and that she wasn’t overacting getting the police involved, but they totally violated her privacy.
