UPDATE: RIHANNA SPOTTED IN LA - ISSUES A STATEMENT
Saturday, February 21, 2009

After almost two weeks of hiding from the public, Rihanna was spotted in Los Angeles heading to an airport on Thursday - the same day a photo of her with bruises on her face released to the public.
The singer finally released a statement to fans on Friday (her 21st birthday) via her spokesperson:
At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown. She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.

THIS IS DEFINITELY NOTHING TO PLAY AROUND WITH. HER FACE LOOKS SAD. I HOPE SHE SEEKS COUNSELING TO HELP HER UNDERSTAND WHAT ISSUES LED HER TO BE ATTRACTED TO SUCH A MONSTER. NONE OF THIS IS HER FAULT BUT COUNSELING CAN HELP HER GET HER LIFE BACK ON TRACK. THIS IS A TRAUMA TO HER EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY AND CAN GREATLY AFFECT HER SELF-ESTEEM.
PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THAT CHRIS NEEDS HELP. I COULDN’T GIVE TWO ISHES ABOUT THAT NICCRA AT THIS POINT. YES HE NEEDS HELP BUT I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT RIHANNA. THIS WILL NOT BE EASY. SHE IS PROBABLY WORRIED ABOUT PEOPLE BLAMING HER, BUT I HOPE THAT SHE HAS STRONG SUPPORT AROUND HER TO REMIND HER, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS NOT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD EVER PUT UP WITH. I DOUBT THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME HE HIT HER, THESE SITUATIONS TEND TO ESCALATE OVER TIME. WHEN SHE STARTS TO TALK ABOUT IT, DON’T BE SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT THOSE BRUISES ON HER NECK BACK IN DECEMBER AND EVEN BEFORE THEN CAME FROM CHRIS.
GOD BLESS RIH-RIH AND GET WELL SOON.

It amazes me that many of you think that ppl wouldn’t react the same had this being everyday ppl. So when u see the sister up the street who has been smacked down you don’t cringe & talk about the situation i.e she NEEDS to leave ole dude alone & etc. I know that where I come from when women are beaten that is the talk of the circle of ppl who knows the victim & all you hear is, the she needs to get out or leave him alone in the discussion. It’s sad if YOU are one of those ppl who turn deaf ears. I’ve seen young ladies beaten until they were swollen & it is NOT a pretty picture. I know men who were abused too & walked away b/c they knew one wrong doesn’t make it right & being that physically they are stronger than the woman even if she had started the fight, the man knew he could knock her teeth out… so he just left… which he NEEDED to do just like the lady who is abused NEEDS to do… LEAVE the idiots alone. Everytime I see a person beaten just b/c… meaning it was NOT in self defense or the attckers life was not @ stake… it pisses me off.
Like I said I don’t know what went down between them ( Chris & Rhianna) & don’t claim to know, but the beating that she got was TOTALLY uncalled for. And NO it may not be her eyeballs poppin out her head, but dude sure beat her till her nose had started to spread & her lips trippled… that’s MORE than enough for me. And when I seen pictures of Chris’ being released AFTER the altercation all I see is a scratch on his knuckles… boy she really tore him up ** rolls eyes***. He will have his day in court like most ppl do, but the court of public opinion has already spoke( which is important for his career) & it’s NOT looking good for him. I think it has hurt him more than the OTHER celeb loser abusers b/c he is mainly targeted to the young/teens… I know I don’t run out to buy a CB album. Which is why the advertisers & etc acted so quickly on dropping ads & what not. Either way it is what it is. I just hope that they BOTH have learned a lesson, no matter what just walk away, it’s NOT worth it if you are NOT in any serious danger & if you are that much into heated arguments in a relationship, there is NO point in staying in it. And this goes for EVERYONE. And on that note I’ll be SO glad when this ENTIRE thing will be over b/c I am tired of hearing the back & fwds **sighs**.

I like what you said and pretty much agree. He should never have hit her and if she hit him or said something to provoke him, he should have walked away. Some females do know how to press buttons though. WE do know this part of the story though, they were in a car in some unknown neighborhood. Sometimes one is not allowed to, in a given situation, walk away.
AND
Girls are not always as weak as you may think. My little sister? becomes she hulk when she gets mad. I have even had trouble restraining her when she got in a fight with my little brother or someone else. (they are 15-16)
Adrenaline can do a lot.
I am NOT saying this is the case with them, but there is always an exception to the rule. We shouldnt judge before we know all details.

Hollywood Blackout
Saturday, February 21, 2009 /
I swear, African-Americans are the most ignorant group when it comes to violence. Perhaps it is because we were victims of such awful brutality as a way of life and passed down this acceptance from generation to generation.
Reading comments on blogs since this story broke has been one of the most depressing experiences of my life. I have always known black people, especially black women place very little value on things like health, safety and security. But to see so many young girls with the same issues their mothers clearly had is truly heartbreaking.
As log as black women continue to make excuses, blame victims and sell their womanhood for black male acceptance we will continue to suffer needlessly.
I hope most of you young ladies realize that Chris Brown and most other black men like him will never be coming to your rescue. They are not going to defend you, protect you, marry you, raise your children, etc. They will use you for whatever they can whether it be sex, emotional support, your money, etc and never give anything in return.
It’s sad that Rihanna, who probably was learning this due to all of her exposure to the predatory men of color in the music business, and now sees that the majority of support for her is occurring outside the black community.
And people wonder why Tina Turner turned her back on black folks and never looked back.
Ike Turner is a hero in the black community and folks laugh off his abuse with jokes. The same will happen for Chris Brown. His career is FAR from over in the world of BET and Vibe magazine.

For something that “doesn’t affect your life”, you SUUURE are posting a WHOLE lot about it. I hope that what anyone else eats doesn’t make you shit, as it should be.
Now please explain to me why she deserved it. Because she had money? BULLSHIT.
That asswhooping was TOTALLY uncalled for, and I would feel the same if it was Jessica down the street or Tanya down the block. It’s so sad stans & groupies are REACHING to justify that crap. “SHE PROVOKED HIM!”…”DON;T JUDGE HIM TILL ALL THE FACTS ARE OUT…BUT IMMA JUDGE RIHANNA AND CALL HER A HERPES INFESTED, SHIT STARTER WHO DESERVED TO GET HER ASS BEAT (but I also have no facts)”
Not every DV case is the result of the aggressor being provoked. I have seen many instances in my own family where the dude went upside their female’s head JUST for disagreeing or for having an opinion.
We love in a world where (not all) men feel they are FAR superior to women. They are stuck in that caveman/neanderthal mindset. Where we are supposed to bow down to them & we BETTER not question what they say or do.

I think they both should take this as a lesson learned. Take a break they both are young (starting at 16 and are in adult situations and the spot light all the time) and has been riding their albums out for two years now. TAKE A BREAK AND MAKE ANOTHER ABLUM ALREADY. Where were their parents, like a lot of people gave Beyonce’s mother and father crap about being in her life and stirring her career. But when your young and in a relationship with a much older man, them being there helped out a lot. This is what happens when you don’t have guidance, and thinking your grown.

Saturday, February 21, 2009 /
No excuses, lumping them together and saying it a “lessoned learned” I call bull ish on that. rihanna and lot of other young women and older women alike get beaten up by men all around this country. this has nothing to do with being young. This has something to do with VIOLENCE. I wish black women were smarter. I really do. People are in denial apparently. Abuse is never acceptable. Why do black women devalue themselves by looking for “reasons” to justify Chris Brown’s actions? Do we love getting our azzes whipped by men so much that we blame the victim? The answer sadly is YES. Sisters have such low self esteem that we actually believe it is rihanna’s fault that this man blacked her out with his fists???? Say it ain’t so, fools are still asking for the whole story….as if anything excuses his barbaric behavior??? I am so glad for the mother I have who taught me that no man will ever raise his hand to me in a violent way, because it will NOT be tolerated for any reason WHATSOEVER. I blame women who raised this people who say there is an excuse for being violent and putting someone in the hospital. If Rihanna wasn’t presenting a threat to his life with deadly weapon, there is no excuse for the excessive force he used to beat her up.
Wake up black women, its your lives at stake. You wonder why black men have zero respect for you???Its because you have none for yourself. Stand up and start holding these men accountable for their actions. Stop calling domestic violence “a fight”. Stop acting like you deserve to be treated like crap, break the mentality that says you deserve to be beaten up if you get “out of line’, whatever the hell getting out of line means, having an opinion? Being able to form a sentence?? Refusing to accept being cheated on???if that is getting out of line, then stay out of line and find a real man who knows how to treat a woman. Not a punk like Chris Brown who uses force against a woman because he can’t control his anger. Yes, he is a punk. Start calling it like it is instead of making excuses for being treated poorly!

The fight took place over two weeks ago now, look at the battered face she has on the pic that came out, leaked from the police right after the fight. Of course her face is healing. She has on sunglasses and you can’t see what her eyes look like, no coincidence she is wearing hair on her face to sheild the lumps he put on her head. Stop being stupid #98!! Bruises go away in time but the emotional trauma and scarring will stay with her forever. If your mother was beaten up and her bruises healed you would say it didn’t really happen? I hope you are just a young fool and not old enough to know how foolish and illogical you sound.
Gosh, Rihanna I hope that you are triumphant in all you do. You deserve much better than this. The pop world loves you even if many of your own kind turn their backs on you to support an abuser. Slave mentality at its best!

@#72 No one supports what Chris Brown did and yes it is sad that it reached that level, no man should be hitting a women, but at the same time man or women should be hitting anyone… You have to look at peoples past and situations before we throw the under the bus.. As african americans we are so quick to say why are there so many brothas in jail but we are the first ones to turn are backs on are own people. Yes, chris was wrong and yes he should seek help but at the same time he is young and dumb 19 is not 40, his mother still has some raising to do with him even if he is the bread winner of his family… So I will not turn away, instead of educating people and letting them know their wrongs we shut them out, it doesn’t help when u shut anyone out, You can’t help them and help them grow as people if you cancel them out it will only make it worse… But everybody knows so damn much… I think he needs to visit other familys with domestic abuse go to shelters and hear womens storys about what happened, what he saw with his mother had to affect him…

Yep what he saw growing up did apparently affect him, but not holding him accountable will NOT help him either. Black women are so used to running to the rescue of black men, this is why we raise weak sons who don’t take responsibility for their actions. Where is the tough love? Where are the men who will stand up and hold this man accountable for his actions. Women should not be the ones coddling him and feeling sorry for him. Black women need to learn lessons in allowing the punishment to fit the crime. We are so used to nurturing criminal minded black men that we are so emotionally confused and conflicted about this. We need to understand it is not shutting someone out when we CALL THEM OUT FOR THEIR WRONG DOING.

I don’t believe there is ever an excuse for a man to do what Chris did to Rihanna.
We need to start expecting more from these young brothas out here. When you actually believe that it is okay for Chris to jump on Rihanna if he is provoked by her, what you are saying is it is okay if she makes him mad to whip her a$$. No, its not okay. We all get mad everyday. People provoke us all day everyday, but do we act on it? No, because if you act like that at work you will get arrested and lose your job. Who told him he was above getting angry? He is not better than anyone else. If I can’t take out my anger on people because I got provoked, nor can he!! Simple as that. Its called self-control. That is the first lesson in being a man. a real man. Learn how to control yourself and you won’t be interested in controlling a woman using violence! That’s what violence and abuse is, an attempt to control.
Women, you need to understand this. You should be raising men who understand this instead of taking up for the abusers, do something constructive with yourself other than shaking your money maker up in the club. Learn what to look for in a man. A self respecting brotha would not raise his hands to smack you down. He will understand how a real man acts. A real man doesn’t hit women. Somewhere in the black community that message has gotten lost.

No I don’t condole DV on anyone, I think you took my statement all out of context. Lesson Learn meaning they both will grow from this experience, Chris learning that it is not tolerated to hit a women or anyone, Rih she will learn that she deserves better and treated with respect. WE DON’T KNOW it is up to them to handle it the way they what too. Being young does play apart in this as while because no one expected this to happen to THEM, and how do you explain what happens to most child stars they have major issues. I’m tried of people using because of what happen to his mother using it as his excuse. There are plenty of people who had messed up childhoods and turn out to be wonderful people. I mean they both need breaks apart from everything, and basically people need to stop feeding into as if they was in the back-seat.

108, I feel sorry for you if you believe provocation is an excuse for becoming violent. Chris has no excuse for his behavior. So do you also believe that when a man rapes a woman she provoked him by wearing a too short skirt? So she deserves it?? That is what you’re saying. Blame the victim for being attacked. Women have been oppressed in this society for so many years that now women are actually the ones spewing this nonsense at each other. This deluded mind set that says she did something to him just means you are delusional. You actually believe that there is an excuse for his behavior. This stems from low self-esteem and the inability to recognize you are worth more than being a mans punching bag. You need to get that through your thick heads!!

111, I think the real issue here is violence starts at a young age for many abusers. 19 years old does not mean that this is an isolated incident. Someone with his background, witnessing repaeated abuse at his own admission, it obviously affected him. My guess is that he has a lot of pent up anger seeing his mother beaten up many times, he probably felt helpless that he could not beat up the man who administered the beatings to his mom. That is probably why he uses force and anger against females like rihanna, when he gets angry he can’t control it it all spills out. That is what happens also when he has an uderlying anger at his own mom for putting him in a situation where he had to witness her being abused. Its a complicated psycological issue, but it is real. He needs help. Whether he is 19 or 49 abuse is still abuse. Nothing negates the fact that he beat Rihanna down and must pay for that crime. Period.
Juvenille institutions have offenders locked away that would scare the ish outta you. go visit one and you will see. There are some YOUNG violent criminals much younger than Chris Brown, if they are locked up for their crimes he should be too!

This is really very sad for both Rihanna and Chris. It tears my heart to see how Chris is being demonized as just another violent negro by the white blogs and yet I am saddened by the way Rihanna was disrespected as a woman , friend, and lover by Chris. However she is the one who has the bruises, and she is female, and for people , especially women, to blame is just utter ignorance. But what do we expect from a society where 70 to 80 percent of the kids are raised by single mothers and most likely have witnessed their mothers getting their asses whupped by their boyfriends. We also need to pray for the black community in which large segments have become lulled into the acceptance of violence. The rest of society which is not as accepting of crime and violence will continue to do what they have to do to maintain order in America i.e build more and more prisons.

And please don’t bother to post to me; I won’t see it and I could care less. You self-righteous **** are either very lonely, or have been man less for years or your man left you for a man. How could those that have sons be so cavalier? Please.
I can have compassion for Chris because I have brothers, nephews, male cousins and raised with a father in the home. I am a strong black woman. I have never been abused not ever.
I am lighter than Rihanna; I’ve fallen on my a$$ skating, and had bruising that lasted longer than this pretend horrific BS. Two weeks is not an adequate time to heal from a beat down, I don’t care what kind of regenerative DNA she has.
No, I don’t want my folks set up by a vicious female. Yes, I’ve seen what conniving witches can do. No, I don’t believe in Violence or Abuse of any kind. (And no, it’s not domestic since the legal term does not apply, look it up.) But there is a self-defense statute in the law whether you like it or not. And don’t think he won’t mount a defense. So there will be more dirt to come if you’re crying now just wait. None of you were there and you don’t know the story but because of some sordid female solidarity everyone is suppose to throw him under the bus. I’m not going to do it and I refuse to settle for the BS theories or “pitiful me too” scribes here and feel bad about it. 120, hon, you sound like a got-damn fool, I don’t even think your realize it though lol
Women who stand up and support Rihanna have to be manless? That statement really tells us much about you. You feel that way because you have been brain washed by that perspective that villifies women. We see it all day everyday in videos on BET, Perpetuating the idea of woman as evil sex objects with no brains or women who hate men have to be without one. Some of us just respect ourselves enough to know that we will not allow men to treat us like ish and then defend that behavior.
I have brothers and cousins and uncles who are male. my boyfriend is a male obviously lol None of them would ever hit a woman and expect me to support them in their wrong actions. Love is not blind. Love does not enable one to commit crime and then blame victims for the atrosity! This is the problem with black people. We have forgotten how to love each other in the ways that count, by not accepting bull $hit!
I know, you brought up the fact that you are light skin, lighter than Rihanna for what? Because you believe that makes you immune to jealousy of her? You’re telling on yourself without knowing it lol..We won’t think less of you if you are dark-skinned , that doesn’t make you more deserving of abuse. Just understand this, one day you may end up running into one of those men you are defending. Let’s hope you won’t catch a beat down and then called a coniving woman who provoked him. smdh.

120, Why does Rihanna have to be a viscious female? Why is she somehow responsible for getting beat up? You’re making no sense. It sounds like you believe Chris is justified in whipping her behind. hmmmm. Now, I understand why so many people are angry about the state of the black community. Some women are so desperate for the approval of a black man that they will probably stick up for them even if the woman is bloody and hospitalized. WOW. Men have always been more keen to stick together than women. Women turn on each other for men, that reeks of desperation. I have a son and nephew and both know good and well that VIOLENCE against a woman will never be approved of in our family. Thank goodness we are not in the hood because this is crazy.

@27 PMS I was thinking the EXACT same thing when I saw the pictures of them at the Grammy party. There’s one particular photo where she’s hugging him and he’s not hugging back but looking at her in the corner of his eye like he was thinking something evil. Hate to say it but like ‘get off me beep!
I feel like she should have just let it go, if the relationship had ended prior to the grammy party. You can’t force someone to be with you, regardless if it’s to fool the public until you decide to officially end it. Therefore I feel like this could have been one of the reasons which sparked the argument, and unfortunetly it ended in such a terrible way. My heart goes out to Rihanna, it’s bad enough having such a horrible thing happen to you. But to then have it aired everywhere, it’s such a shame it had to end this way.

I do not understand how females can support abuse. Someone mentioned having a son, well what about when you have DAUGHTERS, MOTHERS, SISTERS!!
even Jay Z has enough sense to support Rihanna, what is wrong with black folks? particularly WOMEN????

I am saddened by how Chris has all of a sudden become a DEMON of some sort…this happens all the time, im nor excusing his behavior at all, but what happened to innocent until proven guilty? Where is the other side of the story? Some of you are saying it doesn’t matter..but it does. No sane human would put their hands on another human for the hell of it…Poor Rihanna yes, but if the reports of this not being the first time they have fought then….Chris has a lot of growing to do, who knows if years and years of psychological shit transpired all of this. This is a bigger case than “oh he hit her” Yes he did but WHY?

113 aka fashionista and many other posters
Why must this always be a black or white thing or man against woman. lets be honest we honestly do not know what actually took place we are not god and we are thinking to deep into this. If you guys are so disturbed by this saga why don’t you go volunteer at the neartest shelter for battered Men/women and help those WHO REALLY DO NEED THE SUPPORT. THE REAL ISSUE WITH THE BLACK COMMUNITY IS T0O OFTEN WE ARE ALL TALK AND NO ACTION! Have any of you posters voluntered at a shelter, mentored the battered, or started any reinforcement programs to help the abused? I am proud to say that as a current college student i have volutered at various shelters and help mentor abuse teens so please practice what you preach. With that said, it is because of posters like you that chris’s case may be thrown out, for the simple fact that the picture was released, he is already guilty before his day in court, I do not, and i repeat I DO NOT condone in any shape or form the act of domestic violence against MEN OR WOMEN but too often women are given a free pass b/c they are female. I do not know what rock some of you guys have lived under but in this day and age situations like this occur everyday and NO ONE PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE B/C IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO. Often women have no other way to express their anger and choose to use force and do not understand what no and stop means and as humans naturally our instant reaction is to counter act physical activity with more physical activity. I will not pass judgement on anyone until they are given a oppurtunity to express their side there may be no justification for hitting ANYONE but often things are not as they seem. I know this from volunteering at shelters for battared men and women and hearing multiple stories which leadas me to restate my original statement ALL THREE SIDES OF A DOMESTIC DISPUTE SHOULD BE HEARD B4 ANY JUDGMENT IS PASSED b/c people lives are ruined b/c of public opinon and the long term affects are devastating.

p.s i spotted this on another blog earlier and the theori actually seems quite feasable
Here’s the real story as relayed to me from a friend on the inside.
The D.A. threw the case back because of Rhianna’s statement. - Not complaint! The injuries incurred during their spat, was the result of Chris Slamming on the breaks, thus causing one of the bruises on Rhianna’s forehead. The busted lip and other bruises was caused by three elbows to her face by Chris, due to him warding off Rhianna’s repeated attempts to grab Chris’s cell phone. There was no “CHOKING” or deliberate punching after the car came to a halt.
According to what I heard, Rhianna will not press charges because she realizes that she has just as much culpability in this as Chris does. Both parties are pretty embarrassed that this whole fiasco has been blown out of proportion.
According to what i’ve heard, Chris will probably be charged with a misdemeanor aggravated assault, and put on probation (maybe). Trust me, both parties just want the whole thing to go away.

Whatever she did to him, nothing could have warranted him to physically attack her. What it boils down to is self control and if he is adult to commit adult crimes, then he should be adult to know self control and when to just walk away. Would it really have been that hard just to cool off and let it be? He will wear this on his shoulders forever and I honestly cant see him coming back from this, especially now since the situation has become that much more valid, given the recent leak of the photo.

I pray for the both of them - I hope they can overcome this situation, however Rihanna is a damn ass fool cause I would’ve had to fight his ass. I gives a damn. if I wouldn’t let a female in the streets beat me like I’m silly, I’m fa damn sho not gon let a dude put his hands on me. she should’ve did it the “hood” way and called all her island brothers, cousins, uncles & had them beat the shit out him.

@135, there is NEVER AN EXCUSE. AND YOU ARE ASSUMING HE IS SANE? HE BIT HER, BEAT HER UNTIL SHE BLACKED OUT. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY SAYING HIS SIDE WILL REDEEM HIM? WHAT CAN HE IS ALSO FACING A CHARGE OF ISSUING A CRIMINAL THREAT AGAINST HER, THAT MEANS HE THREATENED TO DO BODILY HARM AND EVEN POSSIBLY KILL HER. AND YOU SAY HE HAS A REASON FOR THAT. YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY HE DID IT? BASICALLY YOU ARE SAYING HE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS ACTIONS.??? WTF????????????????????????????????????????????? IS WRONG WITH YOU?????????????????????
WHY? YOU ASK? IF IT WERE YOUR MOM, WOULD YOU ASSUME SHE DID SOMETHING TO MAKE HIM GO CRAZY OR WOULD YOU SAY HE WAS CRAZY WITH A DEEP DARK SIDE IN WHICH MOST BATTERERS HAVE. THEY ARE LIKE DR, JECKYL & MR. HYDE AND THEY ARE CUNNING.
IT IS HARD FOR YOU TO BELIEVE THAT BECAUSE YOU ARE BLINDED BY
MARKETING AND AN IMAGE THAT CHRIS BROWN HAS SOLD YOU.
NO MATTER WHAT, THIS CRIME WON’T BE TOLERATED UNDER THE LAW. HIS SIDE DOESN’T MATTER. THERE IS NOTHING TO EXCUSE THIS BEHAVIOR, HE CAN’T EVEN LIE WHICH IS WHY HE ISSUED A PSUEDO APOLOGY THROUGH HIS PR FIRM. YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY, SEND HIS A$$ TO A THERAPIST!! HE IS OBVIOUSLY STONE CRAZY!

I just wish this story would die already. There’s more important things in the world to worry about than another young woman getting beat up! Yea many women get beat up, but that’s mostly because of weakness and stupidity. I DON’T EVEN SEE ANY DAMN SCARS! Yea it’s a shame that Chris did this to her but I don’t like how this is going to strengthen her career because people feel sorry for her. This story should have never gotten out and it’s funny because if it wasn’t a big celebrity like Rihanna who was hit by Chris, nobody would have cared. It was a fight between both of them and is their business. She got hit but I know there’s going to be a song and interviews about it and that’s shameful because you don’t use your personal life just for publicity and glory. If you really think about it, every female has gotten into a crazy ass fight with their boyfriend, physical or not physical, and I believe people are making this a bigger deal than it is.

136, THIS IS NOT A “TANGO”. THIS WAS A BEAT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOUR SOURCES KNOW NOTHING OF THE TRUTH. RIHANNA WAS THE VICTIM OF A VISCIOUS ATTACK. STOP SPREADING LIES. YOU WILL SOON SEE ONCE SHE SPEAKS. SHE HAS NOTHING TO BE EMBARRASSED ABOUT. STOP WITH THIS PITIFUL EXCUSES FOR A BATTERER!!!!
YES, I HAVE WORKED WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS SO YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS NOT A “FIGHT”. MEN WHO BEAT WOMEN ARE TAUGHT THAT EVERY EXCUSE IS TO BE ABANDONED. THERE IS NO MALE INSTINCT EXCUSE EITHER. THIS GIRL WEIGHT WHAT 120 POUNDS AND POSED NO IMMINENT THREAT TO HIS LIFE. HE WENT OFF ON HER ON HIS OWN ACCORD. COULD NOT CONTROL HIS ANGER PROBLEMS. IT IS NEVER THE FAULT OF THE PERSON WHO CAUGHT THE BEAT DOWN. PART OF BEING A RESPONSIBLE ADULT IS SELF-CONTROL AND SELF-DISCIPLINE. IN A COURT OF LAW YOU CAN NOT USE THAT LAME EXCUSE OF “I WAS PROVOKED” YOU WILL CATCH A BATTERY CHARGE. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. UNFORTUNATELY BLACKS ARE MORE APT TO BE ACCEPTING OF THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR DUE TO IT BEING CULTURALLY ACCEPTABLE IN TOO MANY AFRICAN-AMERICAN HOMES TOO SAD!

Furthermore I need to add that people never know what it is like until it’s you or somebody you know that this happens to and it is devastating. Almost two year’s ago this happened to my friend, and Rihanna faired much better than she did, the doctors told her that one more blow to her head she could have been in a wheel chair or dead. Rihanna’s police foto looks like a glamour shot compared to my friend’s and it makes me so angry to hear people defend Chris Brown’s sorry ass, I dont care what she did, he should have kept his hands to himself, PERIOD.

141, just because this is normal to you to have a fight with your man doesn’t make this any less of a crime. all it says about you is that you are used to violence like many others on here making excuses for this type of behavior. Let me help you out, not everyone has had a crazy fight with their man, I haven’t. Yes we have argued but never called out of my name and never hit, nor have we ever gone off on eachother swinging fists! Grow up! Its not normal or acceptable.
I think now that the light is being shined on this issue, people are defending this action of Chris because they recognize this as behavior they accept from these fools they date. They are in denial and look for excuses because they don’t want to face the fact that their own relationships are just as bad.
This is really sick!

Diam0nd D what have you been sippin on this morning? Your right in the court of law there is no such thing as a “i was provoked” defense but there is a such thing as a “SELF DEFENSE” clause and many have counter sued and won. Also if i was you i wouldn’t go accusing people of having poor sources b/c your claims have been proven FALSE earlier this week. And honestly what shelters have you worked in? B/c DV is a very serious subject but while working with young adults in a mentoring program and monotered counseling sessions i have heard many stories come from young women and men about altercations with their bf/gf getting out of hand it can go from 0-10 in the matter of seconds and no one person is innocent in a FIGHT. A fight and domestic beating are two seperete things LOOK IT UP AND EDUCATE YOURSELF. She did not get a beat down trust me RIHANNAS face was swollen from excessive crying, eyes were dark around it b/c of smeared mascara, there was a cut IN HER MOUTH and not a BUSTED LIP you can tell b/c there is no exposed cut on the outside of her mouth and she has 2 bruises on her forehead that i would put my money on came from hitting her head on something based ont The way the BRUISES ARE SITUATED ON EVEN SIDES OF HER FOREHEAD. NOW A BEATDOWN would have left her in the hospital wit broken bones, broken flash, and would need more than 2weeks oF seclusion to heal. Im not trying to justify chris but i am sure not going to crucify him ethier being asthough i believe in “innocent till proven guilty” he deserves the right to express his side and have his day in court. thanx

Sometimes i wonder…its like 12 yr olds are all up in this mess!!!…concreteloop i think u need some kind of age verification step when ppl are signing up on the site…i didnt know ppl were so dumb.
For what its worth Im glad she’s back…glad she’s back out in public…first step to taking back ur life …she certainly have alot to think about.
Now as for the “grown women” ( I presume please correct me if im wrong) saying that she deserved it n she hit him first, i wanna know who is breezy to u???…that boy dont even know u breathe the same air he does n even if he did he wouldnt care. Some of u be all up on him defending his behavior like he signs your checks at the end of every damn month. Its ridiculous!
He can keep is side-eye necessary statement about finding jesus ( as if once he mentions that word its all gravy)…real men admit when they have gone too far regardless of what led up to that moment, u stand up and take responsibility for ur own actions.
oh n if ur sick of rihanna i would think the smart thing to do is overlook her posts n not be all up in them like its playtime kids. im out.

146 I question why you feel you are an authority on this subject. being beaten by someone does not mean you are qualified to know how she received her bruises on her head. for all you know she could have had her head slammed into somethign with the help of Chris Brown. You don’t know anymore than anyone else. Working in a DV shelter myself, there is no excuse for why it happens, it should never happen. Self defense? okay, we will see but I think you are here trying to do damage control on a situation that is clearly past that stage. There is no excuse for battery and you are assuming Chris is not responsible for those bruises based on what? lmao puhlease. More excuses, but they won’t hold up in court.
