In related news, J.Hud is set to hit the road on a co-headlining tour with Robin Thicke. They’ll take the stage for the first show on April 2 in Philadelphia, and wrap up five weeks later on May 8 in Houston.
“I’m so grateful—my first Grammy and my first tour,” she told People. “It doesn’t get better than that.”

i agree with some that say she getting awards b/c of what she’s been thru, which was expected, b/c honestly best r&b album..not @ all…but that’s how it is, when situations like that happen…n e ways like i said b4 nice song, and okay video..and her skin looks nice in this video too

@36 yeah you shouldn’t have brought her name up b/c i highly doubt she would’ve become anything. her whole career was built off of an image change. if not for the haircut and stylist, she would be nowhere. when ppl have “IT” the moment they come on the scene they make a ruckus. look at madonna or britney or whitney. rihanna’s publicist even admitted to making lies about her and jay-z in order to catch ppl’s attention. i do believe that she is a hard-worker though. i think she’s also open to changing her image and a quick-learner b/c she borrows a lot from madonna and grace jones (kanye said he introduced her to grace jones and i notice that she’s started borrowing a lot from her). she has good taste in who she imitates b/c i love both grace and madonna.
jennifer doesn’t strike me as someone who would change her image drastically in order to please the mainstream. that might be a downfall but at the end of the day, it’s mostly older people who will buy her albums anyway b/c her voice is suited for gospel and young people don’t go for that so changing her image might lose that fanbase.
i forgot to add that jen looks good in this vid. i wonder how she’s holding up with her tragedy. i hope everything is good with her emotionally and mentally

MEME is a hater indeed. The song spotlight was number one for several weeks, even before her family passed away, people couldn’t get enough of the song. Like Fantasia, Whitney, Jill Scott and a few other artist, when Jennifer sings, you feel it. It’s good to the ear and the heart. Her performance in Dream Girls made many people cry, smile and feel uplifted, when you can do that in your acting, it’s great acting. She worked hard, but not as hard as other artists, because she is a NATURAL TALENT. It’s like some people who go to college, get their masters in music, yet some people who never went to college have better talent than them. They worked hard, but you’re either born with it or not, college only improve whatever you already have.
Jennifer worked hard and deserve both awards and all the other awards she can get. Plus she is a wonderful and humble person. She doesn’t have a manager and sales person like Matthew Knowles on her side, if she did, she would be bigger than life. Sometimes, unique talent just comes to the top. Put a little love in your heart MEME.

And to MEME the R&B category for best album had al green, eric benet, anthony hamilton etc and its down to the board of the Grammys to pick the winner- its not down to fans/stans. Although I LOOOOVE AL green and every other singer in the category, I felt that Jhud deserved to win.
Unlike a lot of other black female artists who are very successful, Jhud actually comes across as being nice, humble and not a limelight grabbing b***** which is one of the reasons why a lot of people like her.

I can’t see the video but I’ve listened to the song, its not a bad love song. And as for the grammy award, whether people felt she deserved it or not, she took it home. People are always getting things they don’t deserve. I don’t feel like people should go crazy over stars and idolize them like they do when there are hard-working normal individuals like us who never get any praise for the things we do and they are way over paid when others work hard everyday with all type of degrees and are barely making it.
And to Jennifer: Don’t rush into marriage, I feel she’s just one of those females who can’t stand to be w/o a man and is just settling.
