Janelle Monae = quirky. Kelis = quirky. Grace Jones = quirky. I’m sorry but it’s just not believable coming from this young lady. She’s about as eclectic as Vanilla Ice/MC Hammer is gangsta. To her credit though I will say this, the only thing she’s got over big sister Beyonce is that she hits high notes much better. I just wished she hadn’t lip-synch this performance so that we could see if she’s actually made any progress in her live performance.

Solange is cute. And, I almost bought her cd. But, she is too gimmicky for my taste. I like a genuine iconic artist (Whitney, Aretha, En Vogue, Fantasia, JHud) not a contrived (Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Britney,etc…) pop tartist. But, I am glad there is an audience for her work. It’s just not me. It’s much to declasse’.
Oops! I forgot Prince, John Legend, Alicia Keys as my true artists. There are others but time is money.
I like the fact Solange is crazy, in fact she seems to be the only sane one in her whole damn family! She reminds me of a black Lily allen though, not in terms of looks but performance style and crazy character

People listen to Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Britney for music that they can have fun with and enjoy with their friends and family. Just because Lady Gaga isn’t walking around singing ballads all day long does not mean she’s not iconic or genuine. I don’t go to a party and request the song “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney, why, because nobody wants to hear that when they’re having a good time. i had written her off and thought that she was contrived and trying to hard to be something that she wasn’t but i’ve liked every song i’ve heard from her and her performances are on point and her personality/image seems to be pretty authentic.

I love it. She’s a great performer, and I love her vocals. Womans got range. She hit an E6 live the otha day @ her Cosmic Journey performance. So for #26, she may not necessarily have the belting range of beyonce or whitney house. But, she’s def. got range. She’s got over 3 vocal octaves. Her head voice is excellent.
this is my FAVORITE SONG of her album. Her cd is really really good. I was quite shocked, but i would go see her in a concert if she ever came this way

As an artist, solange is talentless. I don’t care for her vocals nor her songs. I’m always amazed when these blogs cover her performances, hell, Tamia sold more albums than her yet we never get this many updates on her status. This chick’s album flopped so gotdammn hard, that they got some bloggers on the Knowles payroll to try amp this trick up! Negro, puhhleeze! All the @ss kissingin the world won’t help move them units.
That performance was down right awful and stupid and she looked stupid performing it. I’m mad at myself for wasting almost 5 min. of my time for this. I mean I wanted to see the hype some people were taking about with this girl but boy was I disappointed…..a mess.
