Jennifer Hudson is gearing up for her first full-scale concert tour. She kicks off a 25 date event in Albany, New York, on March 31 with Robin Thicke.
In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Jennifer said:
“I’m excited to get out and meet the people and sing for the people. I always love to perform live. The only other tour I’ve been part of is the (American) Idol tour, so this’ll be more intimate and personal.” Source

ROBIN THICKE’S NEW ALBUM
Speaking of Robin Thicke…He’s preparing to release a single from his next album this summer and the full-length release in the fall.
While promoting his upcoming concert with J. Hud, he said he’s got about 15 new songs and that he’s been working with a variety of producers instead of doing all the work himself:
“I always wanted to be like Prince and write and produce myself. This time I’m not trying to take all the credit…and work with a lot of the best producers in the business. So my sound is going to be a lot different than anything I’ve ever done before. The sound I’m getting is brand new for me. It’s great.” Source
He said with “this crazy new sound”, he’s “really stretching the ceiling a little bit with an open mind, and the results have been wonderful”. Can’t wait!
PRINCE’S LATEST + SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE
Prince will be releasing his latest music collection without a major label through retail chain Target.
The three-disc set, which includes two original studio albums, LOtUSFLOW3R and MPLSoUND, and a third disc titled Elixer by his protege Bria Valente, will hit Target stores March 29 and will sell for $11.98.
He has also launched a fan subscription service called called Lotusflow3r.com.
For $77 a year, subscribers will get an as yet not fully outlined set of content that will include exclusive music, video, lyrics, artwork and photos. The site also might include the potential for streaming live performances from his Los Angeles home — complete with song requests — and access to a vast array of previously unreleased music, but this aspect of the service has not been confirmed.
According to Newsweek, the site will go live March 24, and on March 29 offer digital albums of the new Prince album.
EMINEM’S “RELAPSE”
Eminem will be releasing his first studio album in over four years. Relapse is scheduled for release on May 19, and the first single and its video will be released April 7.
He is already working on a follow-up album, Relapse 2, which will be released in the second half of 2009.
According to Eminem:
“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year. I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

Good move on Thicke’s part, we have 3 full albums of his own stuff, and working with others will help his sound. Then he can go back to his own stuff on the 5th. 3 cd’s for 11.98, sounds like a good deal Prince. Eminems album will be fire.

jennifer hasnt even gone platinum yet and already she has a tour plus this is her first album,, why is she headlining,,,, while robin thicke has sold millions and he doesnt even have his own tour. ive realized that people just throw so much pitty her way, yes she sounds GREAT and so does alot of female singers, but aside from that i feel like when people see her they just have to throw the pittty her way. shes talented , yes but i honestly just dont see the big deal…….her pitty american idol story had people at her feet(aside from her voice)she familys passing had people wiping her tears, i jus feeling like shes a walkin pitty party, none of her singles has hit number 1, her album peaked at number 2, the album went gold, and now she has a tour,,,, hmmm i dunno bout this girl, yeah go ahead and say shes been threw alot, so has many other poeple so thats no excuse

I was so happy for J Hud and Robin when I heard that the 1st show here in Atlanta was sold out. Thank God they are adding a second show because I would hate to miss these 2 live. I am hoping Robin brings it this time, because he bordered on boring when he opened with Beyonce back in 07. I am glad he did not let the lackluster sales of Dreamworld keep him from putting out new music. So glad that he’s branching out and using other producers as well. Em needs to come back hard. He’s been missed.
Prince is a power player I am so buying that album. I love that he is getting his own money back instead of being a starving artist having to tour for a year to see any money. Take note Day 26 and Danity K- what ever is left of the group.
I hope to catch the concert.
