NEWS ROUNDUP: MASSACHUSETTS FAMILY TRAGEDY / ANOTHER OPRAH SCHOOL SCANDAL / COP DELAYED NFL PLAYER AS RELATIVE DIED
Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Twenty-three year old Kerby Revelus fatally stabbed his 17-year-old sister, Samantha, decapitated his 5-year-old sister, Bianca, in front of a police officer and then turned toward his 9-year-old sister, Sarafina, with a knife in his hand before officers shot him dead in what their chief described as “a killing field” in Milton, Massachusetts.
According to reports, there was nothing to indicate Kerby “was capable of something like this or that this tragedy could have been prevented”.
He had been in trouble before, but his criminal record does not show anything close to the level of brutal violence he unleashed on his sisters on Saturday.
In September 2004, he was charged with assault and battery after his then 17 year-old sister, Jessica, called police after he punched her over a phone bill at 19. She declined medical attention and told police she did not want to get a restraining order against her brother. He was arrested for assault and battery in August 2004 after he was involved in a fight with several other teenagers. Then in December 2005, he was charged with carrying a firearm without a license after he tried to buy alcohol at a liquor store.
Investigators believe Kerby had been agitated since Friday night, when he got in a fistfight with a neighbor. He attacked his siblings with a kitchen knife on Saturday while their grandmother, who neighbors say lives on the first floor, was doing laundry in the basement, investigators said. The children’s parents, Regine and Vronze Revelus, were not home.
Sarafina had surgery Monday and is expected to survive. Bianca, Samantha and Kerby will share a single funeral service and be buried together on Saturday.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Revelus family.
ANOTHER OPRAH SCHOOL SCANDAL

Another sex scandal has occurred at Oprah Winfrey’s South African school for girls, although details are not clear.
The Times of South Africa reports that seven students have been expelled for sexual misconduct. Another South African publication, Rapport, says the girls tried to force other students into sexual relationships with each other and tried to touch them “intimately”.
Lisa Halliday, Oprah’s South Africa spokeswoman, responded to the situation on Monday, saying: “We consider this to be a confidential school matter.”
This is the second major incident at the school. In 2007, Tiny Makopo — the school’s matron — was charged with indecent assault and one charge based on an allegation she fondled a 13-year-old girl. She has since plead not guilty, and the case is still under investigation.
COP DELAYED NFL PLAYER AS RELATIVE DIED
A Dallas police officer stopped Houston Texans running back Ryan Moats for running a red light as he rushed to be by his mother-in-law’s bedside in her final minutes at Baylor Medical Center in Plano, TX.
By the time the cop was done with his power-play and let Moats go, however, his mother-in-law was dead. His wife defied the cop’s orders, rushed into the hospital and managed to see her mother just moments before she passed.
The officer has apologized for his actions and is on paid leave pending an internal investigation. Check out footage from Dallas’ WFAA newscast above.

This is a sad sad time for our country!! The incident with the cop further solidifies the claims of most black men, who have little to no faith in our justice system…and I wonder what REALLY happened with the young man who killed his sisters…

I can’t believe that police officer! What a complete and absolute prick. The story about the sisters is so hearbreaking, I can’t imagine how the parents must feel to lose three children in such tragic circumstances. Condolences to the family.

Kerby Revelus obviously had mental issues that should have been dealt with a long time ago. Such a horrible situation for that family…
That Oprah school needs a major revamping. I don’t know what you can do about sexual deviancy amongst those girls though….
That officer who stopped Ryan Moats and his family has a history of being excessive with his take on the “law”, he needs to be fired.

Both of these situations are so unfortunate! It just seems like with Oprah, what she meant for good is just getting so much bad press… Shame on those girls and the women who are “suppose” to be watching them.
And as far as old dude… There is absolutely nothing in the world that is worth killing your family! He obviously has a mental issue… My prayers go out to everyone.

I can not believe he would do that to his sisters. Poor Sarafina. She is going to need a lot of counseling. It just goes to show you that people are capable of doing anything when they are mentally unstable.
I watched the video in pure disgust. All that talking the cop was doing… I believe in Karma and I hope that cop gets his fair share. He needs to be on UNPAID leave! I think Moates handled it well considering the circumstances.

This story about the murdered children pisses me off. I hate to sound even more negative but…I think the parents’ actions are unbelievable. Those murders could have been prevented.
First, when your teenage-something gets arrested more than once for violent acts, it’s time to either put him in a group home, send him to live with a male relative, or send him away to one of those obedience camps or Jobcorp (jobcorp is free in almost every state in the U.S.). He should not have been living at home! The parents should be partially blamed as well! Now look—he goes off and kills your other children! It is no surpirse!
Second of all, I read on CNN today that the parents are going to bury him with his sisters!! HElll to the naw!! That is an abomination! Where are the parents from…because they certainly don’t seem American to me!! Must be from some other culture!

I am still very outraged by the police incident with Ryan…like I hate that theres nothing that can be done about it that will equate what he went through..even if the officer is fired, he will never get that moment back ever!
I don’t want to say it was because of racism but after watching the footage…that’s all i can feel..a victim of racism.

- I don’t know that I would be able to bury the girls next to their brother. It’s such a shame something like this happened. God Bless Them All! I’m sure the girls are dancing in the clouds!
- When I was growing up, you never heard of girls raping girls. What is this world coming to????
- Shame on that cop! He will have to live with that poor judgment call for the rest of his life. Common sense! That is all he had to use…. I wonder what he would have done if it were his own family????
COMPASSION, RESPECT, & LOVE will make this world a better place! In respect to the three stories above, I ask you to show some COMPASSION, RESPECT, & LOVE to people everyday!!! Let’s Pass it FORWARD!!!

I am saddened by all 3 instances. First, my question is why can’t he be buried with his siblings? I do not condone what he has done, but nor do I condone African American parents disowning their children regardless of what they have done. Although he is deceased, he obviously was a young black man fighting something deep within. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this. Secondly, yes this is confidential in the sense that children are involved, but to the comment from Oprah’s spokeswoman…everything that glitters ain’t gold…including Oprah!! Last but not least…to the events of Dallas…when is change gon’ really come!! I’m a school teacher and today I had to write a student(white) up for asking another student(black) is she was ready to pick his cotton? Please EDUCATE…enough said!

@25..I didn’t say he shouldn’t be buried…I don’t think he should be buried NEXT to his sisters!! That’s crazy. That unconditional love mess we talk only goes but so far. Even the Bible says “An eye for an eye.” I’m a mother–but still, I say it only goes so far. What’s that movie with Macauley Culkin, where he played the evil child. And then his mother let him fall off the cliff because he was trying to kill the family. That’s how i feel…I would tell my child to step if they ever did some mess like that! Like Bill Cosby said, I brought you in this world, i can take you out!

and regarding the school scandal…when you have a bunch of teenage girls on lock for four years..then uuummm what do you expect! They are going to explore their sexuality some way or the other!!! I wouldn’t have expelled the students..I would have suspended them or something..and imposed counseling.
If you’re female and you went to a public high school like I did, then you probably remember how the lesbos were! Very manipulative and sneaky. I remember being in the locker room with six lesbians from the track team and they kept feeling on my butt. Then I had a good friend who was lesbo, she was really touchy feely..but that’s how she was with all her friends.

Maybe she needs to hire new help and perhaps intergrate the school with boys. I mean I am all about female empowerment but Africa is Africa everywhere is improverished there. I mean girls may have a bad chance at an education but boys aren’t that much better off. This is sad to have happen to kids who want to better themselves they already have alot to deal with. Oprah needs to be rebuilding schools while she is worried about dealing with things across the world. Lord help us.!!!

Law Enforcement?
Business as usual in amerikkka.
We haven’t seen anything yet with the economy in it’s present state and a doomed overall perception of life. Many law enforcement and people in general will be in the mindset of doing some very drastic things.
As for the young man who killed his sisters, that has nothing to do with the economy etc., that was a problem that was overlooked and never dealt with. Someone should have gotten this man help.

@ 1 and all ppl complainin this happens only in America, that is to say you want this to happen to the rest of the world too? SMH
Anyway, just because you dont have the news of Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and South America doesnt mean such horrible things dont happen there too and its sad there one crazy one in Europe the man was in love with a girl he couldnt get, he killed her by decapitation and then put her members in the frigde. When they were iced enough, he just cooked some of them and started eating these on a daily basis until police found him but he killed himself too. In West Africa, a man turned his son’s head around until it broke, using the head for a sacrifice to have more money. INHUMAN. I lived in France and there is always crazy story like this there always somebody kidnapped, specially kids or ppl who kill their family and then themselves is usual unfortuantely…
We must pray for that little girl who survived because this situation is not only tough, but hoping it wont turn her negatively to the world… God bless & protect her.
I pray God bless our future children to be mentally good and just good, beautifula dn intelligent children.
Oprah and her girls, a shame, those girls have this huge opportunity to have Oprah as a mentor and this is how they act. SMH.
The last one is sad as well. Oh God….

Wow, it’s just the sign of the times, the world is in a organized caotic state, meaning
it’s all going according to the creator’s purpose and plan.
It looks Caotic but it’s organized all at the same time.
the devil is doing his job deceiving all that he can devour because he knows his time is up! the adversary has no recourse but to the lake of fire, so he is gathering all he can to join him in everlasting eternal fire.
Pray that your soul will return in it’s righteous state.
Peace and Love in our Savior who died for our Sins.
I would like to say personally I thank him with all my heart and soul for coming down from his high and loafty state, manifesting in a physical body all for his bride, for he is truly our husband in all his righteousness, mercy and grace.
Thank you father for allowing me to believe and Know that you are King, so therefore I am your Queen and I bow to only you.
You taught me not to have selfish prayers, so therefore please keep all my sister and brothers of the world in a righteous state of mind, and if it’s your will please allow the ones who don’t know you to turn toward you for guidance and mercy.
If I had a thousand tongues I could not thank you enough, so just let me say

That story involving the young man is very interesting. I would be interested to hear the family’s backstory as well as if he had any mental issues. He obviously had spiritual ones and a demon jumped in him that instigated that murder. Again though, only the parents can give an accurate background on an issue like this. He certainly received what he deserved which was death, which I believe is what he wanted….or what the demon wanted for him.
Looking at that story on the Oprah school, I’m sure Oprah believes that things are proceeding exactly as planned, lol.

in regards to the cop incident, things like this happen alot. just much of it isnt reported. this incident just happened to make news, and it is sad. oprah’s school has been dealing with things like the nature for a while, so it’s no suprise really that something of the likes would happen [though i wonder where they are finding these people to be a part of the faculty....]
the murder in boston is just wild. yes, i agree that this boy should’ve been sent away, but i’m blaming the parents halfway. why is he 23 and living at home? you know your son has some violent history, even amongst one of his sisters[another one], why are you keeping his ass around? NONE of us know though what was going through his mind and his parents. OBVIOUSLY they wanted to bury THEIR child with them for a reason. It’s still their child, nonetheless.

Something similarly happened to me. My kid was NY staying with my relatives and while playing he fell on his arm and dislocated his shoulder. At the time I was home in a neighboring state when I got the call. The phone call I received made the situation sounded much more worse than it was….lol I was rushing to the hospital, which was like an hour away and got pulled over by the cops. I told him my kid was badly hurt and I needed to get to the hospital. That cracker looked me dead in the eye and said he did not believe me and gave me a ticket.
Though it wasn’t as serious a case as Moats’, I learned a valuable lesson. If you are being pulled over by the cops during a life or death situation, DO NOT STOP!!! Let the cops chase you all the way to the hospital.
Oh, leave Oprah’s school alone, the girls are just curious and are exploring their sexuality. How many women on this site have touched or have been by their female friends “inappropriately?” If they are willing to come forward, y’all would be surprised…lol.
The culprits were expelled for their behavior…carry on, nothing to see here, folks.

Why do police officer continue to stereotype black people and give them such a hard time, always with the harassment, so unnecessary. just stupidity if you ask me, police officers are so extra and love to use their authority to their advantage.

I have no idea what scriptures you’re reading, but you are not the bride of Christ. No woman on earth is, lol. That sounds like that nonsense church teaching again. The bride of Christ are the Israelites, the seedline of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Jeremiah 6:2, Revelation 19:7, Revelation 21:9). I mention this because it is that pro-woman false teaching in the church system that has allowed demons to enter into these young black men who are not being taught who they are and have no knowledge of themselves. Hate to break it to you, but you will bow to your husband and worship him as the men worship the Lord in the kingdom (I Cor 11:3, Ephesians 5:22-24). Again, this is necessary because these churches are an arm of this society, and their goal is to exalt the women and destroy the minds of the men.

Please accept that the Creator is the husband and the whole creation is his bride!
Rather your male or female you are his Bride, the Creator is the one and only true Husband and like I said he is the only one I will bow to, because he is the only one who is the giver and taker of MY SOUL, I don’t depend on a NATURAL MAN! to make me whole as so many women of the world do. I do appreciate a good man, but I will NOT bow to him, as a woman I will not walk in front or behind a good man but I will walk beside him, and a good man will let me do just that.
So you can STOP quoting scripture to me because that won’t change a thing I told you last time about that.
And for the record HE IS MY HUSBAND, he has taken care of me all my life even when I didn’t know him, you believe what you want, and I will continue to do my thing.
Peace Out.

SMH…I just cannot wrap my head around the events accounted for in this post. My heart goes out to everyone involved.
I cannot fathom what was going through those little girl’s head as their brother was murdering them. Kerby was very disturbed young man and now we’ll never know the reason for his actions and if we would have been able to help him in any event.
After hearing the the NFL player’s story I’ve tried imagining what I would have done. To think “oh well I would have ignored the police officer and run to my mother-in-law’s room” is understandable but this officer may have shot him in the back or in the leg and we would have had a greater tragedy.
No matter how many times we try to ponder the number of possible outcomes in each of these situations, we cannot change the fact that we can’t bring those women back. I can only pray for the families and this country; that God may change the hearts and minds of the many suffering from whatever cause. That they seek help, come to a place of peace and move forward with their lives.

You know how many people carry guns in the U.S.? There was something deep that we aint even seeing cause we don’t know these people. MF’s calling him by his first name like they knew him? Family probably treated dude like shit you don’t even never know. I don’t think it was right not one bit though.

WOW @ 37 –> Get your facts straight!! “everywhere is improverished there” ! What?! Damn ignorance….
How tragic is that first story!! omg…. That kid should have been locked up and away from the public a hella long time ago!!! The girl that survived will now have to relive the memory of almost getting killed, having her brother die right next to her and knowing her two sisters are dead!!! depressing ish.

You know what sis, as soon as you said that, I remembered you from the last time, lol. I didn’t say what I said to make you change your mind. Your conscience has already been seared with a hot iron. I said what I said because it annoys me when people speak about the scriptures without knowledge because they are life and death. All over America, these black churches are teaching black women that Christ is their husband because most of you don’t know how to keep a man. It doesn’t work like that. The Lord deals with order. Whether you like it or not, you will bow to a man. Simple as that. None of what you claim is scriptural. You made it up. Peace out.

@ 37, you obviously have a low level of education and very ignorant. You didn’t even make a sensible comment about the situation. I feel bad for the girls and Oprah, they are all trying to do something good and it is being covered by negative light. Somehow I don’t think the whole truth is being told here. I think boys should be put in the school. I have never been a fan of all girls school even in America we always hear about girls in all girls school acting up and wilding out.
About the first story, I don’t see how anyone in their right mind would look at all his arrests and not think he was threat to people around him. Also I am confused why the police stood there and let him hurt his other sister, didn’t he have a gun to shoot him in the leg or something at least to stop more violence. I hate violence, it is always someone innocent who gets hurt. The fact that he carried a gun illegally, he shouldn’t have been around the house or near those little girls.

Ok now that officer was wrong on so many levels. He didnot have a heart at all. When he saw that they were at the hospital he could have followed them to check the story out. Then if it was not true thats when he truly would have been justified. Come on now karma is a bitch it will come around. My sincere heartfelt sympathy go out to the family that lost those children. Clearly before that tragedy there was signs that boy needed help to do something that crazy to anyone let lone your on family. We are truly living in a world where the end is close. People we better get it right because humans living in a world where they donot fear god. He is on his way. Believe that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This incident is far from tragic!!! This is the work of the devil!! For a young man to commit such a crime is a sign of the evil that exists in the world. This event, like many others, upsets me soo much and makes me sick to my stomach. I pray that God watches over that family. The lack of sanity and evil in this world frightens me so much! This is why I trust absolutely no one (not even family and friends) but God!

Thank goodness, he has preserved my conscience with a hot iron, so that non-sense can’t get in. (lol) Yeah I agree to a point, but let’s face it are there that many out there who deserves to be kept.
Anyway, I was not preaching I offered up a sincere prayer!
Oh yeah I don’t make up anything, I have my source as you do.
Be blessed.
