Part of me feels bad for the cops. But then another part of me doesn’t. Cops kill innocent people everyday. And it’s not right. Doesn anyone else remember the BART officer that shot an innocent guy in the back on his head? It’s[ crazy! What comes around goes around.

As a lifelone resident of Oakland, and employee of the City of Oakland, this is devasting for our City. We have been in a serious state of crisis for years. And this incidient is the final straw for a city that is the pure definition of a paradox. It’s a beautifully ugly place. Where there is so much beauty and good, there is so much blight and anger. We cannot confuse what people do for a living with who they are as people. (The Oakland Police DID NOT shoot Oscar Grant, the BART Police did). The police department is not perfect, but there are some really good people who work for OPD, and these officers did not deserve to be killed, while doing their job. Please, have some compasion for people who have lost their lives, because at the end of the day, whether they were officers or the young man that shot them, lives are lost. And it will effect everyone in this city for a long time.

I am from the Bay Area and Oakland Police did not kill Oscar Grant, BART police did. The station it happpend at just happened to be in Oakland. The Oakland Police Department has a lot of issues, most of the police on that force are the problem, but you can’t blame every officer for the bad actions of others. There are a lot of OPD officers that are members of my church, and they are great people. This is tragic all arround and my hart and prayers go out to all the families including the suspect, his family is mourning as well.

Judah, please. Black women have been “standing behind” violent, deranged black men for decades now and where has it gotten them: poor, raising children by themselves and living in violent communities.

Iraqi women and children are facing the same type of violence as black women in the ghetto. They are being raped and killed by insurgents every day. They are standing by them men who are trying to bring peace and safety to them and their children whether it be a fellow Iraqi or not. You are deluded if you think Iraqi women support war and violence. Women and children are always the first victims of war.

I never condoned the background of the man who shot those police officers. I understand his actions and I will never feel any remorse or compassion for any police officer, no matter what race they are. They are not out to “protect and serve”. Their job is to clean up the trash that has been produced by the school system and the mind control outlets of mass media in the black community. I do condone how he chose to go out; by taking his enemies, members of any police force, with him. For all intents and purposes Lovelle Mixon was dead before he was born, because this is a captivity and unless given certain insight, these brothers are going to live a life of confusion. I don’t expect most black women to understand or sympathize because your minds were destroyed generations ago, plus to a certain degree, you’ve been written in on the deal of the so-called “American Dream”. As much as I hate to say this, I feel little remorse for the police officers. It is terrible to loose lives over certain situations, especially in this sense for someone “not wanting to go back to prison” but lately I have seen not only in the media, but personally in my own community the way MOST police officers treat other people and criminals, it is very unfair and eventually it can come back to haunt you.

I suspect that you think that by claiming that black women and white men work together to “effiminize” the black male that actually means it is the truth.

Here is what we can agree on, I think. The majority of black American males in 2009 provide no benefit to the majority of black American females. For the most part, they do not provide for and protect women in their families or in their communities. The reasons for this are varying and I suspect we disagree on who or what is to blame. But since MOST black men do not see their role the same way males of other races do, the bulk of them have become useless. This has resulted in communities being “protected” by women and racist police - neither of which every really work together for obvious reasons. The women protect the criminals and the police hunt them down - now who do you think is going to be the collateral damage in this equation? How many black women and children have been hurt by both the police and the deranged black men? This means that black women in 2009 have got to get away from the majority of these men. They have got to leave them alone because they have been given the duty of raising children and financially supporting communities. They cannot do this and protect black men at the same time. No society can function with the women as providers and protectors - who is going to have the energy to educate and nurture? This is why so many black children are not equipped to handle adult situations - they have only been fed, clothed and housed. They lack the nuanced ability to handle adult situations like marriage, parenting, education and career achievement.

Now, I agree that law enforcement in America is an extension of the KKK. Most white communities are not violent and therefore they do not need to be policed. Yes, the police in those communities literally serve and protect. The majority of white cooperate with police and see them as their ALLY. This has never been the case for black Americans. Black communities are havens for crime - mainly because predators like to set up shop in places where women and children live by themselves. Women are less likely to confront a criminal. A child is going to either be afraid or envious. So in the black community, police know that there are so few men who would have the ability to defend themselves and so MANY men with priors and not a penny to their name.

This is why, in my estimation, the black community collective needs to be dismantled because women and children and suffering needlessly and black men are walking zombies. Black women are never going to be able to self-police and keep their neighborhoods free of crime. Only men can do that. If black women refuse to wake up and see that they are ALONE - literally and figuratively - we will see more cases like this. Black women crying and weeping over more CARNAGE right outside their door.

Sometimes I find myself having to re-read what I initially wrote to see where certain people get the things that they accuse me of saying from. Where did I say that black women should stand behind criminalistic black men? Where did I metion the validity of the war that the Muslims are fighting? The comparison was how the Arab women stand behind their men in war in comparison to our women. However you slice it, a black woman should never be crying and making wreaths for cops unless that cop was a family member. If I was a member of the criminal element in a community and I saw that, I would certainly make a mental note of that woman. I never said who Mixon was thinking about when he squared off with the police either. You think Obama is thinking about you, lol? I could care less who he was thinking about, but I know what he was thinking about. He was thinking that he was going to die and he was going to take some devils with him, lol. the comment someone made about the BART police incident and “what goes around comes around”. that incident had nothing to do with those officers who lost thier lives. I think we are so focused on the uniform we forget about the person in the uniform. ITS a job and a very well paying job to be an officer. they are doing what they are paid to do protect and serve. My father was a cop too and if he was out there shooting people down for no reason and some hoodlum caught him slipping and lit his a$$ up, then it would have been payback. I am sad about the war. I was really sadden by the 60min. interview hearing that Obama had to sign off on sending more young men and women over seas. Regarding the shootings that took place in Oakland, CA over the weekend.. Ya’ll have to understand that we are riding on the coatail of the Oscar Grant murder. We as Black people are not safe in Oakland. We experience police brutality all the time and more so than any other community. My brother and a few of my friends were killed by an Oakland police officer, so I can understand the frustration among our Black men. The police portray themselves as our enemy in our community, so its really hard to sent our hearts and prayers to a group of people who openly torture our people on a daily basis. What happend to those officers over the weekend is no different than what police do to us EVERY weekend. Rest in peace to the REAL falling solider, L Mixon.

When you say that the black man provides no “benefit” for you, that is because the white man provides “benefit” for you. This means that you view the black man as your enemy. Why do you think the “feminist movement” followed the “civil rights movement”? Do you think that was happenstance? I hate to know what solutions you have for the problems or rather the theory you propose since you don’t have any facts. You might just be at war with yourself.

I live in the bay area…in the city right next to Oakland matter of fact and when I heard about this I immediately asked what the big deal is…I mean people die at the hand of police all the time and can’t even get a thorough investigation..and NO i’m not referring to the Oscar Grant incident because that was BART Police. However, when 4 policemen die they want to send police forces from Oakland, Vallejo, Alameda etc. to the scene. WTF. This incident was unfortunate and shows the disparity between cops and civilians in Oakland. They pulled Lovelle over for a ROUTINE STOP better known HARASSMENT. What was THE CAUSE for pulling him over OPD? *silence* riiiiight. Also, i want to point out that this is not a racist matter those cops just happened to be white… I feel bad that the cops lost their lives because they are human and have families, however, I feel like OPD and other PD’s around the nation need to take this incident as incentive as a means to RECONSTRUCT TRUST WITH THE COMMUNITY..not to enact more force on the community as a means of “safety.” In my eyes, Lovelle is a martyr…the police need to learn to stop effin with people…if they don’t more incidents like this will occur.

Some of these comments are truly crazy and the people that wrote them seriously need to seek help. If we were on TMZ website and we read some of these comments from caucasians towards the murders of blacks we would go crazy. In the same regard I do not respect blacks that show racism toward another race. There will unfortunately always be good and bad people and racism will never end but what makes you think you are any different from the bad police who kill blacks b/c of the color of their skin when you spit the same hatred out your heart towards someone’s son, father, brother, husband and friend. This is a tragedy for the police officers and their families regardless of their race. Check any state foster care system, most children in foster care are the children of black men, the race of the mother doesn’t even matter.

And for what it’s worth I am married to a black man. He may be a “white black man” like you claim Barack Obama is, but he is an individual who had the ability to separate himself from the madness that most black men subscribe too, including most of the “good” black men.

So perhaps you should be on a blog that is frequented by more men instead of coming to a forum frequented by mainly women (a gossip blog!) and trying to brow-beat these sisters into feeling like everything they see around them is their fault because they don’t know how to “follow” a REAL black man’s lead. A REAL man of ANY race does not need permission to lead a woman. He does not need to argue with her or explain why he can’t do something. So yes, if black women don’t want to be “led” by hyper-masculine abusers then I support them all the way.

Don’t forget, there are plenty of black men and women who have divested from the nonsense of the black community and are living well and are happy. I can’t fathom why someone would stay in some of these hell holes but that is probably why I didn’t end up in one in the first place.

there is a lot of “conspiracy theory” rhetoric that he and others like him spew (some very compelling, i must admit). however, my problem with those of the same ideology is that this is unfortunately the life that we live and for now we must operate under the constructs, playing the game to work to your advantage.

#1 . this criminal went to jail for six years for assault with a deadly weapon during an armed robery we was only out 9 months b4 he violated parole . WOW. what a wonderful citizen , the reason OAKLAND is the way that it is , and if this CRIMINAL would have stayed in prison where he belonged for police officers would have went home to their families that night . BLACK OR WHITE , their race shouldnt matter . cops dont get payed THAT much , when you really think about how many times they risk their lives , especially working in the city of Oakland. Everytime they get out on those streets they are risking their lives , but they do it anyway , because its their jobs! No one should be killed for doing their jobs , and nobody truely knows if these were crooked cops or not? so does that mean we just assume they are and therefore had to “take one for the time” that is RIDICULOUS !

Next time you hear gunshots, next time your child is at the wrong place at the wrong time and is the victim of a drive-by shooting , next time your robbed, or your mothers purse is stolen, next time someone breaks into your hourse, DONT call the police, and DONT expect their help . If you are married to a good black male, why are you attempting to lead a coup against the black man, lol? That’s the real question. The point of fatherhood is to have something to teach your children and the knowledge to lead your family. The vast majority of black men have no knowledge, so they have nothing to teach. Let’s get one thing clear, I am not making an excuse for the bad judgement of ANY INDIVIDUAL. And for anyone to judge a person by their job title or who they are associated with is wrong. It is time for us to stop making excuses all the way around. Yes, police officers protect their own. But we don’t protect ours. We don’t know how to stand together in a positive productive way. We deal in reaction rather than proaction. The police are here to serve and protect. Law abiding citizens have nothing to fear. People who have a clear understanding of the purpose of law inforcement don’t put themselves in situations that they feel victimized by the police. I work for parks and recreation and I have worked with the current acting police chief, several officers and others who’s goal is to change the cultural of the city. And it is people like you, who get more pleasure from continuing the miscommunication and hatred of people, who are also reacting to what ALL of us have created.

Let’s start talking about educating people about how to be accountable for their own actions, that young man made bad decisions. And I don’t believe that he was a bad person, but at some point you have to acknowledge that he did something that gave the OPD only one choice. Read up a little more about what happened. He walked over to the officers, shot them, stood over one and shot him again. They didn’t even get a chance to run his license to find out he had a warrant! Then he fled the scene, indangered the life of his sister and cousin who had nothing to do with the situation. And for what, because he made bad decisions for years and didn’t want to go to jail?

To compare a police deparment to Hitler’s army is just ridiculous. It is people like you that make people feel it’s ok to not be properly informed and ignorant to the possible solutions. Solutions that begin with each individual changing.

So, yes, we need an overhaul. We need to overhaul ourselves. Start taking responsibility for our own lives. Live righteously, not self-righteously.

They were law abiding citizens weren’t they? Then you later went on to say, “People who have a clear understanding of the purpose of law enforcement don’t put themselves in situations that they feel victimized by the police.” In case you did not know Robbie Tolan is the son of a former baseball players and he was shot in the driveway of his house. Did he put himself in a situation to be victimized by the cops?

Let me tell you a story: Last week I was in Bedford, PA (about 6 hours from NYC) on work assignment. Now, it is not an overstatement when I say there are no Black people in Bedford. On my way back, I got pulled over by a cop. I wasn’t doing anything wrong, following the speed limit and all, because I know how they get down in Bedford. I passed a cop on the highway and as soon as she saw me she started to follow me. She followed me for a bout 30 minutes. She eventually pulled me over and when I asked why the hell she pulled me over, she said even though indicated before I changed lanes to get in front of her, I did not do it 20 miles back. I said to her, “can I ask you a question and I mean no disrespect? But the only reason you pulled me over was because I am Black.” She swore up an down and apologized for me feeling that way but I let her know that she can save the bullsh!t. The point is in this racist country, Black people don’t have to do anything for the police to impose their will on them, for no reason other than the fact that “they can.”

Sis, no disrespect to you, but I don’t think that you are aware of what “enlightened” is. Whoever is in power will be viewed as the bearer of the light. This is why, like I’ve already said, the black woman is programmed to hearken unto the philosophies of the white man. It’s not rocket science. If the Chinese were the top nation in power, you would hearken unto the Chinese man. If someone is speaking in regards to “enlightenment”, if they are not referencing how you can accrue power unto yourself, you should cease from listening to that person because they are an agent of whoever is already in power.
