Gospel duo Mary Mary posed with Kanye West and Common on the set of their video for their new single “God In Me”. The video, shot in LA on Sunday evening, features the two rappers making appearances – as well as Fonzworth Bentley, Heavy D, Flex Anderson, Shanice, Kelly Price, David Banner, and Kierra Sheard (who is featured on the song).

Where is Amber, I guess Kanye didnt want to bring her to the set. I thought he didnt believe in God anymore, at least that is what I got from the Detail article. LOL!
Kanye doesn’t even believe in God so why is he there? Mary M should be more careful about picking their guests for a Gospel video! The only reason he’s there is because he’s a big artist, they should have known better than to put an aetheist and a lesbian stripper on the set of their video.

His girlfriend looks like a hooker, she could at least have worn some clothes and why is she repeating outfits, let me not judge because these skilled golddiggers know what theyre doing. When I first heard this song on the radio, I thought it was Keri Hilson,lol….I’m happy to that Kanye will be in the video!!:) I see Amber on the set, but I am nopt sure if it would be a GOOD look for her to be in it?!?:(….. I hate to say that, but her image is not angelic at all! Maybe some of that “god in me” might rub on her… because seems so tacky!
All of us will one day go before judgement and I know we won’t be thinking about anyone else’s life or mistakes then (lol) because everyone has sinned in some form or the other and none of us are living perfect lives.
And a person of God should open up their hearts to non-Christian people in an attempt to draw them closer to him. It takes some of us longer than others to get there, if we ever get there, it doesn’t mean a person of God is better than anyone else because a lot of them are only 100% Christians in public.
And her outfit may or may not have been appropriate but I’m a female and I will admit she has a nice body and her outfit not really that big of a surprise, I’m pretty sure all of us see people dressed like her everyday somewhere.
Amber is there to support Kanye. I’m sure she’s NOT in the video. Can a woman just support her man? Why are so many of you trippin?

I have a true issue here with everyone judging who is in the video. First and foremost God sent us here to preach his word and luv others the way Christ loves us. That means it doesn’t matter WHO you are and what you have on. I can guarentee you every christian was not always a saint (I can speak for myself as well). It is more important to reach those that don’t believe otherwise there would be no reason for us to be here on this earth.
Folks can have a label as a christian but the key is your “personal relationship” with him. There are always going be individuals who don’t agree with what the gospel artist are doing rightnow to reach out to those that are not saved and don’t believe. But the importance is doing what the main question will be when we stand before christ during judgement:
“What did you do to bring others (unsaved/unbelievers) into my kingdom?”

We are not just bound to one form or fashion. Just because someone is a secular artist doesn’t mean they aren’t trying to live right within christ. No one is without sin and no sin is worse than another in the eyes of god. So before everyone decides to scream blasphemy, look at your self. I’m not perfect and i don’t claim to be. I’m just trying to do the right thing.

I am trying to decide if I even like the song. I like Mary Mary and I loved the first single Get Up. But when I listen to the lyrics its all about material things, cars, and clothes. So does a person who has more material things have God and those who don’t don’t? What about all these people losing their homes, cars and jobs? God is not about materialism. Haven’t we learned that yet? Makes me think of all that “prosperity teaching” that was rampant in the 90s.
Okay this is case in point everyone that claims to be Christian has no clue of what that call means therefore need to question if they’re truly that which they claim to be. Not just for them but you have a Kanye and Common that I know of who’s denied Jesus as being the only way to God yet you’re putting them in your God in me video. That’s my jam…I have a secular music problem (hard to stop listening to it), and this CD allows me to listen to uplifting music and not have the desire to put in a worldly CD. times have changed, and although I do listen to Spiritual music, and old school gospel, I also like to get down, and listen to something more contemporary, so Mary Mary, Kierra Sheard, Fred Hammond and the rest make music for the people that sounds good with a good message. I don’t think they have sold out at all, this music reaches youth in a way that is positive, who can argue with that?

I can see the reasoning behind putting Kanye and Common in the video, but I think young people also need to see some rappers that are living their lives according to God’s Word. Thus, I think Mary Mary should have had some gospel rappers or celebrities like Trip Lee or Flame in the video as well. Or at least someone who produces gospel music in addition to secular music like Rodney Jerkins. I’ve seen him on MTV cribs and young people aspire to be like him.
