First I would like to say that I am very excited to see such passionate debate and dialogue on this particular topic, rather than the other diluted and superficial topics. With that being said, I am open to see both sides and each have valid points. Yes, I can see how one can believe that Obama is the new “figure for the black man failing” in reference to the black man in slavery days and yes, I can see how one can believe that Obama will be able to help manuever the country through these trying times. I would like to say don’t be little someone’s faith by beating them with knowledge, rather invite them to a different process of thought and guide them through the conversation. We as black people have to be careful how we introduce “new” knowledge to others, because blacks have become exceedingly dependent upon the media to be informed about their communities and their nation. We have been taught to question only what others question and it has never been an independent action upon the black community to be more involved within the political aspect of USA as a whole. No, Obama is not the answer to our problems, but should we dismiss him without seeing if his plans will effectively produce a positive change? Who would we deem to take his position if he fails? Biden? Now is not the time to beat the man down. If you see a problem in his plans or actions, make your voice heard by organizing a committee that counters his ideas with positive communication of “proofreading” his decisions. Now is not the time to dash the hopes of so many who are for the first time since the Civil Rights Movement are positive about the legacy of the Black Man in the United States. We have to use positive reinforcement to uplift the image of the Black Man. If you think its another plot to be demunitive of the Black Man, write an article about it and post it or submit it anywhere you know majority of Black people meet, but you also have to give examples of what each of us can do to make his administration productive and positive and most importantly memorable, for the important reasons, not because of his skin complexion. Dr. King Jr. did not do it alone and he had people who understood the necessary sacrifices and struggles and pitholes that would be along the way. We have to have faith that we can change things. We have to keep pushing, keep believing. Look how far we have come, and just image how much further we can be if we pulled together and united within our own communities. Like I said, we have different points on view on this subject. There are numerous ideological differences between the Muslim extremists and people in the west. The Muslims cherish death while the people of the west cherish life. These extremists come into battle wishing and praying they die, whereas, westerners wish they survive. As odd as this may sound, the only way to survive a fight like that is to get in that same mindset. I am strong a believer of “evil respects greater evil.”
