President Barack Obama met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Tuesday to discuss the United States and British economic stimulus packages. Brown is the first European leader to meet with President Obama.
FIRST LADY VISITS ARLINGTON CEMETERY
First Lady Michelle Obama poses with veterans Alyce Dixon, 102, and Ester P. Corcoran, 103, (R) at Arlington National Cemetery’s Women in Military Service for America Memorial Center in Washington earlier this week in observance of Women’s History Month.
She said the country must do all it can to support not just the servicemember on active duty, but their families, too. Long and repeat tours of duty affect grandparents, parents, spouses and siblings, some of whom are left to look after the servicemember’s children, she added.
While campaigning for her husband, President Barack Obama, Mrs. Obama met with numerous military families and has said their plight is among one of the issues she wants to tackle.
PLAN TO CUT WASTEFUL SPENDING
On Wednesday, President Barack Obama approved an order to overhaul the way the government awards contracts to the private sector for work. He is pictured announcing the order with Sens. Carl Levin and John McCain.
Pres. Obama said that “even if these were the best of times, budget reform would be overdue in Washington. The days of giving government contractors a blank check are over” and said changes could save up to $40 billion a year.

Cut wasteful spending? That’s interesting, since America is already a few trillion dollars in the hole. Basically to come out of debt, the country of America would have to pledge itself as an indentured servant to those that control the money until the debt can be paid off. That seems to be what hass happened in the form of the allegiance (subserviance) to Israel and Britain, and the attempts to destroy an Islamic force of power in the middle East by pitting entities against each other, i.e. India vs. Pakistan. That is why the first foreign leader to meet with Obama is the British Prime Minister. He is in America to give Obama his orders from the Crown, i.e. the 13 families that control the world’s economy. Another 17,000 soldiers were dispatched to Afghanistan, so I don’t understand how the U.S. troops can ever be recalled when it is obvious that America has absolutely no control over that region.

I appreciate Pres. Obama trying to enact policies that will cut wasteful spending and I’m glad to see Sen. John McCain in the background. It lets me know that they aren’t just up there for show and tell.

I know the Conservatives are mad right now that Brown is meeting with Obama and trying to dismiss it as a wasted trip but I doubt that. I hope what ever he’s cooking up will be effective in the long term . Big government is going to be stepped up a notch and it comes with it’s pitfalls but its better than letting us wallow in this mess.

Obama thinks outside the box, he is interested in making policy that will bring about positive social change unlike his predecessors who were only interested in getting themselves and their friends richer. This country was built with the blood and sweat of the working man, and that’s who Obama is for. America has always had a mix market economy, we have never been purely capitalist, besides look at where capitalist greed has gotten us. It was only a matter of time…whats happening now is a natural evolution.
