ROUNDUP: TYRESE SAYS “SCANDAL” TAKING A TOLL ON CHRIS / TERRY CREWS TAKES 50 CENT’S SPOT / METHOD MAN OWES SOME TAXES

March 23rd, 2009

Actor Tyrese Gibson recently caught up with People Magazine and spoke to them about how Chris Brown is doing amid his media scandal with girlfriend Rihanna. He said it’s taking it’s toll on the young stars:

Although he appears to be really strong through all of this, it’s really taking a toll on his spirit. People like me and Puff, we’re just trying to show him love and keep his spirits up while he’s going through all of the heat, and there are a lot people doing the same for Rihanna.

It’s really hard for him to focus right now on his music, even though he really wants to. At the end of the day, I’m not trying to justify it because wrong is wrong, but unfortunately, us as entertainers, we have to grow up on stage with a lot of people looking at us. And a lot of people forget that he’s 19, she’s only 21. [SOURCE]

Chris is expected to appear back in court on April 6th to finish his arraignment appearance, after being granted an continuance earlier this month.

50 CENT GETS REPLACED

Looks like Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson might not be concentrating on a budding actor career, as we stated recently.

Sylvester Stallone who just announced last week that the G-Unit rapper would be replacing Forrest Whitaker in his new blockbuster action flick, The Expendables, has recast the role once again — to actor/comedian Terry Crews. No word on why he was suddenly replaced.

Wonder if 50 will put out a diss song about it?

METHOD MAN OWES SOME TAXES

Rapper Method Man’s sports utility vehicle has been seized by New York state tax collectors alleging he owes over $50,000 to the government.

A 2008 Lincoln Navigator belonging to the star – real name Clifford Smith – was taken from his Staten Island, New York home at 6 a.m. local time last week, according to the New York Post.

The Wu Tang Clan rapper reportedly owes $52,503 in income taxes. Well damn.

    THE REVOLUTION WILL BE TELVISED

I think its time people realize that chris is human and is entitled to make mistake. I’m not justifying his actions, I just believe people are being a little harsh. He’s 19, the same age as I and though he IS an entertainer, he still has a lot of growing up to do. SO PEOPLE STOP BEING SO JUDGEMENTAL AND REALIZE THAT NO ONE IS PERFECT AND WE ALL HAVE FLAWS!! The only difference between you and him is he has the whole world watching.

Not at all surprised to see abusers come out and defend Chris Brown. And yes, making statements of “support” for “both sides” is condoning the violence that occurred.

In a FUNCTIONAL community, a man who put his hands on a woman would be shunned and NO MAN would publicly stick up for him or “give support” to help him “keep his head up”.

But this is the negro community where everything right is wrong anyway.

people are dumb sometimes, you want him to be shunned by society, has it crossed you r mind that he is a position influence alot more good throughtout the world than you could?
do you realise that when we dont allow people to rehabilate themselves if they really want to than the global society on the whole could be missing out.
i personally dont believe in that no man should hit a woman, i think no human should ever hit a human is more appropriate as it permeates respect from everyone.

I think that people that are quick to critisize CB are disgusting. Yes he did wrong but why the hell must you tear him down??? Jeez he’s young and will learn, the worst part of it is that no one really knows what happened, we all just assumed because of the pic of rihanna’s face that he did that to her.

There are endless possibilities as to how she could have attained those injuries, i’m not saying that he didn’t hit her but if we all think about this logically if he really did punch her as her report claims he did , he must either have a very weak hand or rihanna has a very tough face…. How the hell do you get punched in your face by a man may i add and not get a black eye or your skin even tear?? Has anyone actually considered that for the numerous time she claims to have been punched nothing on her face was broken??? How the hell is that possible??

Now we all know he did wrong and no one is disputing that but the fact of the matter is that life goes on and people have to let him get on with it. Stop trying to label him a woman beater because he is not. He made a mistake and by that i mean an error of judgement by letting his anger get the best of him, we all make mistakes, its part of life and part of being a human being. Rihanna needs to own up to her part in this situation because she is not innocent, i don’t care what anybody says that boy did not get up and decide that he was just going to beat her ass !!!!

Let them get on with it and leave them alone…. Everyone wants to be so righteous but you’re all supporting R Kelly and his perverted self… I’d rather have a woman beater which may i add CB is not any day than a paedophile!!!!!

Chris Brown made the biggest mistake of his life. And he would be stupid to hit Rihanna again. If he did then we would crucify him. However all this talk about he is wrong and lock him up is too much. People need to start going back to church and need to start readin the bible. And if you look in the bible you will find a word called “forgiveness”.

Tyrese should STFU. Why are these male celebrities defending Chris Brown? If you defend an abuser, you’re condoning his actions. Please stop with he’s young nonsense. Chris Brown is not a boy going into puberty. He’s an adult. He should be treated like one. When adults act out of pocket, they get called for it. So, respectfully, Tyrese, I ain’t sending my prayers to a woman beater. I suggest he stop wasting his.

@ MARIA there’s a difference between an adult doing adult things and a child doing adult things. all the things you named are not adult things but the things that financially people can do, these people typically being adults.

and would be upset if that were my daughter BUT i would not be hell bent on locking him a long time, that would serve no purpose. he needs help and re-evaluation not crucifiction.

the word is called forgiveness, look it up.

Black women are at the bottom of the totem pole of society nobody loves them or thinks of them as worthy casing point Rihanna here who even in her celebritydom could not be protected from this vile hatred from Chris and all black women haters (black women themselves are included) Shame on you all who think there is a “justifiable reason” for what happened. That word “mistake needs to stop being banded around will nilly. It does not surprise me the people coming to Chris’s defence all women hating, sexist, egotistical, ignorant self haters like P Diddy, Tyrese and Terrence Howard (all well known for their sexist views on women. Please black women open your eyes FGS!!!!!! Surely you all can “think” for yourselves.

    True story:
I was talking to my 7 yr old cousin over the weekend. She started talking about Chris Brown and Rihanna. She said ” Chris Brown beat up Rihanna. But he is still cute and I still like him.”

This prompted us to have a long talk! People, this is the problem. Only in the black community do we condone such actions because a person is rich! Look at the message we are sending to our kids!!! If CB was any other regular guy on the street who did this to you or a woman in your family, there’s no way he’d be defended because of his age. The courts sure won’t care that he’s 19. He’s legally an adult! He should lose endorsements. He should be worried about his career. Maybe he does need to go to jail to be taught a lesson, but I’d much rather see the brother get professional help. But in order for him to receive help, he needs to feel remorse for what he did and not for being caught!

    Really People?!

I really don’t know what to say about a lot of the posts on this blog. My goodness, if you know a young man that beats up his gf PLEASE do not scold him a little then say…it’s okay, you’re just a kid. You can’t tell a young person it’s wrong but you’re young, it happens…it subtracts from the “it’s wrong” part. It’s not okay and that is not how anyone truly learns from their mistakes.

Also, he is not a kid. He is NOT a kid. He is 19 and he knows better. Do not downplay his actions just because he is young because again…that is not how a person learns from their mistakes. Chris could have killed that girl…what he did is that serious and should not be treated any other way.

He needs help and the way to help him is to not excuse his actions in any way for any reason, but to make him fully understand and comprehend what he did and why it is wrong. I don’t even know if Chris is hurting because of what he did or because of how it’s affecting his image/career. You need to think about all of that before you somehow diminish the gravity of his actions just because he’s young and he’s hurting.

True, there are far worst people in the world, but that still doesn’t make what Chris did okay or semi-excusable for any reason.

Domestic violence is a huge problem and it’s not going to get better by excusing it for whatever reason…he’s/she’s young, he/she didn’t mean it, he’s/she’s stupid, he/she made a mistake…MmmKay but he/she still did it. Also, Chris Brown hasn’t nearly been demonized as harshly as some are claiming he has. Of course, he is in the news and people are talking because he got caught. But clearly he still has his fans, people looking out for him, his gf, and his album is selling slightly better post ass whooping…so for all intensive purposes dude is just fine. So nope, I don’t feel sorry for him.

I suggest you save that pity and sympathy for someone who truly deserves it. You want to help Chris tell his ass to get help and keep it moving.
