Jill Scott is starring in the new HBO series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. The two-hour premiere airs this Sunday, March 29th.
The show is based on the best-selling novels by Alexander McCall Smith and features Jill Scott and Anika Noni Rose as the owner of Botswana’s first and only female-owned detective agency for the benefit of those who need help the most and her secretary.

Jennifer Hudson is returning to American Idol for one night only.
She taped a performance of her hit single, “If This Isn’t Love”, on Wednesday, following the elimination show. Jennifer’s appearance will air on an upcoming segment according to an unnamed source close to the show.
In related news, she and fiancé David ‘Punk’ Otunga have set a date for their wedding. But she’s not saying when: “Yeah, but I can’t say anything. It’s a secret.”
The Grammy and Oscar-winning actress/singer will kick off her first concert tour with Robin Thicke on Tuesday, March 31, in Albany, New York.

@ #1- The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency is so good. It’s aired a few episodes already in the UK and I’m in love with it. I must say Anika’s character is hilarious and Jill is a vision of black beauty.
Jen should be good on AI. Love that song. And it’s good that she’s set a date for her wedding. If these past few months have taught her anything it’s that life is too short. It could be taken from you like that and you have to make the most of it while you still can. I wish her all the best.

That Jill Scott programme has been doing its round in England for a while now, at least 3 years I think, never bothered to watch it though I guess I should give it a chance

I really don’t know how J. Hud is doing it, but I am happy that her life is moving forward. She has a lot of courage and obviously a lot of people who care aboaut her. It’s still really sad that she has had to go through so much, but wiw she is strong!
I adore Jill Scott and I have seen the UK version of No 1 ladies and she does a great job! She does a good job at the accent so does Anika! I am a fan of the show already!

no.1 ladies detective agency started about 2 weeks ago now and da 1st episode was a hit. i loved it. da 2nd 1 was great to. im gonna watch da 3rd episode 2nite at 9pm (which is about 3pm in da afternoon). ohhhhhhhh its 2 gd

for the attention of some of you- there is no such thing as an african accent! africa is a CONTINENT with loads of countries that accent english differently. i wouldn’t say she has the botswanian accent down yet, but her and anika are close. good show all in all.

Jill Scotts show was really good, the two hour episode that was shown last night was shown in the UK a year ago and recieved nearly 7 million viewers (which is high in the UK) last night in the UK they showed the 4th episode, which is the 3rd of series 1, and it has been excellent.
I saw the show last night and it was WONDERFUL! I was a little dissappointed at work this morning to see that a lot of people did not tune in. I see there are a lot of Europeans posting here. I don’t know how it is in countries in Europe but here in the US it is haaarrrd to keep a “black” show on television. To those of you who love the show – please take a minute and send a comment to HBO and remember to ask as many people as you can to watch the show. Much continued success to Jill, Anika, Idris, and the rest of the cast – you guys have done an AWESOME job!
Jill Scott proves that when an artist has soul and heart they can do anything..crossing between different artistic mediums effortlessly. I saw the pilot last night and was blown away by her performance…she is definitely the The Real Thing.

I loved the No.1 Ladies detective Agency…saw it last week before the premiere and I can’t wait to see more episodes….I hope it catches on and has lots of episodes. Congrats to Jill and Jennifer on their accomplishments.
@ Somto … a lot of people don’t know what the different accents of Africa are particularly Botswanian and some of them do sound similar so for a person in the US thinking collectively…we say she has done a really good job it’s doesn’t sound like an American accent, could pass for Jamaican though
