Many of you inquired about the fur sweater she wore while dining in NY a few days ago. After lots of speculation, I found it to be by Japanese designers Undercover – part of their Fall 2008 collection. She wore Pratt’s Skinny Motorcycle Jeans ($228) and Marc Jacobs Aviators ($260), which you can shop online. On her feet were lizard Christian Louboutin Pigalle pumps.
Rihanna went to the club this week in LA wearing a Balmain leather jacket ($6,439) and the collections buzzed about crystal studded stilettos ($1,965). To complete the looks she wears black ripped jeans by Siwy denim ($198).
And while house shopping this week in Cali, carrying a Bottega Veneta clutch – Rhianna wore another Balmain blazer with studs along the collar ($3,498). On her legs were Ever boyfriend shorts ($218) and her feet carried Christina Louboutin’s ‘Trash’ Collection stilettos ($995).
Not only is Balmain her latest obsession, but Ri-Ri has also been seen wearing a number of Alexander Wang pieces as well. This week while in LA, she was spotted wearing Wang’s Pierced Open Toe Booties ($745) with her Current/Elliot Denim Jacket ($274). On Wednesday, she wore another Wang piece – this Moto Two-Toned Leather Jacket ($1495).

I wouldnt even bother to ask what celebs are wearing (if I’m interested in buying an item that they have on) because nine times outta ten they are rocking high priced items which are most likely out of the average person’s price range. Of course there’s nothing spectacular about Rihanna’s clothes, I’m sure if you search hard enough you’ll be able to find some cute knock off versions.

I meant to add, notice with all this “stuff” some celebs never seem satisfied or happy. Don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking Rihanna just making an observation. I hope she is happy doing what she is doing. I don’t know why I just thought of Aaliyah but you never saw her in a whole bunch of designer gear but she always looked so happy doing what she was doing. She looked sincerely happy to be an entertainer..it wasn’t about who you wore, or where you’ve been..with Aaliyah it was about singing those songs that made her fans happy. In this recession let us remember that her outfits( most) are given to her by designers long before (sometimes) they hit the shelves. So she doesn’t have to pay for them and she gets to SAVE some of her money.
I still have to give it her and her stylist because they do an excellent job of combining those pieces together to produce an ensemble worth raving about.
I can’t say the same for Beyonce. ( I love her to bits) but her style is just off kilter.

So many black celebs go from being rich to being broke within a short space of time because they have the attitude that they need to be spending their money on things like clothing. But what they should be doing is investing in property or ventures that will keep making them money even when/if their careers fade.
In Rihanna’s case I’m pretty sure she gets her clothes for free, if not well we’ll see what happens.
Why do celebs shell out all that money for the same crap you get at macy’s pr dillards? it never seems to amaze me. I know high fashion brings the trends from the streets and the lower retailers copy it and give the public a cheaper water downed version to wear, so I wait patiently when I can buy them. I have a friend who dates a football player and she spends crazy amounts on clothing, shoes, and bags. By the end of the season she is giving most of the stuff away to the goodwill or she sells them on ebay! how wastefull. I know celebs get most of that stuff for free or half off, but all that adds up over time.
I spent $15,000 on clothing last year. I work for a marketing company, and yes I have to stay on point. I shop at macy’s, rich’s,bcbg,babe,arden B, dillards, and other little spots. Even though the stuff is cheaper compared to what she wears, the prices add up over time. I throw in a couple designer bags and shoes when my man feels like spending the extra money! it cost to stay fly ladies!
