Boys & Girls Club alumnus Usher Raymond (pictured with his mother Jonnetta Patton) unveiled a new billboard featuring his childhood photo as part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s” BE GREAT” campaign on Wednesday afternoon in Atlanta.
The Grammy award winner & philanthropist attended the Boys & Girls Club of Chattanooga as a young boy and joins the likes of Denzel Washington, Shaquille O’Neal, and Muhammad Ali as part of BGCA’s new advocacy campaign, featuring successful Boys & Girls Club kids and encouraging every American to help young people be great.

I honestly think this is a nice and sincere move on Usher and him maturing and trying to make a mark for his son’s however, why is this even relevant when his wife is not and has not been with him in the media with his son’s and at an event that is so important like this? I am no way a big fan of Tameka’s but I just think that it is sad, you would think that with a new Black First Family, and a couple of weeks ago Usher was trying to go to D.C. and meet the President (Then he wonders why he had just missed Obama when he ran over to the Whitehouse after leaving the Hill a few weeks ago?–Be about your house and your family business in a loving and truthful way Usher before you go out in the public and chasing the Obama’s), he would practice what he sees/preaches with his own life…It honestly makes me wonder about people like him.
