Models Liya Kebede and Jourdan Dunn take part of the May “Model Issue” and cover Vogue magazine. This annual issue usually highlights the top girls in the business, and the cover was shot by famed fashion photographer Steven Meisel.
Liya has been taking storm since her modeling days for Tom Ford in the early 90s, and recently opened for Balenciaga’s Fall 2009 show. Dunn became the first black model to walk for Prada in over ten years when she was cast in its Fall/Winter 2008 show.

More fragrances are coming from your favorite celebrities. Parlux recently confirmed that the fragrance company inked a deal with Jay-Z’s licensing company Iconic Fragrances and the rapper along with Rihanna, Kanye West and a yet-to-be-announced “well-established female artist” will all release scents.
“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Parlux and their management team in the launch of these dynamic new brands.” Jay-Z released in a statement. Both Rihanna and Kanye will launch signature scents in the summer of 2010, with Jay-Z and the mystery star following suit in 2011. Wonder who this mystery star is?

Everyone already knows that both Beyonce and Rihanna are great artists who are established enough to both receive Grammy nominations for their music, and if it’s good enough for the Grammy’s, as well as other accolades they’ve received, then it’s good enough for me. It’s said that they even hang together from time to time, so what’s with the so-called fan-made rivalry still?
That’s so 2007-2008. Come on people, it’s just stupid now. Nobody cares anymore if Beyonce’s better than Rihanna, or if Rihanna’s better than Beyonce. They’re both making more than any of us anyway. I notice that Vogue had more black girls on their cover than ever before. First Michelle Obama on the March cover, then Beyonce on the April cover and now Liya Kibele and Jourdan Dunn are on the May cover. I know that the sales of magazines are down so putting a black woman on the cover will get black women to buy their magazines until the economy picks up and they go back to putting blue eye blondes.

Did someone say Bey doesn’t have her own perfume? She has had Tru Star 1 since 03 and did Tru Star Gold next in 04. Also she signed with and did Armani in 06 so I doubt it’s her. Liya as with a lot of Ethiopians are mixture of Ethiopian and Arab mixture. Some from mixed marriages, some from rape, just like African Americans. Nothing pure about East Africans, lol! I know since I’m one.
