Grammy Award winning artist Estelle and fashion designer Jonathan Kelsey have collaborated on the creation of a new luxury overnight bag – The Belvie.
The Belvie is designed to be the perfect accessory for the girl who goes from work to the nightclub and on through the following morning. In signature Jonathan Kelsey style, the bag –Kelsey’s first– is detailed and chic, crafted from a selection of the finest white leather.

people hatin on Estelle she isnt all that bad come on , i think the only reason people are saying she is ugly is because she is dark skin i think she is good looking and very talented
pure hotness
That bag is the business. I honestly think it is refreshing to see a very afrocentric European sister representing. I lived in London for a while, and it is very hard for darker skined women there and even here in the U.S. to get their respect, yet alone in the fashion industry. This is what we heard from Naomi Campell a few weeks ago, thus, this topic honestly does get some empathy from me. The sad thing is that in Europe, darker skinned women like Grace Jones (who is highly revered in France/Europe) Alec Weak, Naomi and others are marketed more, than right here in the U.S.. If this was Alicia Keys, or even Leona, I don’t think people would be so quick to judge. We support Vogue and media tabloids that plaster “acceptable” cross-over main stream Black celebrities, but not support Jet, Ebony and Essence, in which Johnson Publications are under a lot of pressure to fold soon!!!!! They are the only tabloid magazines that show a “different shade” and focus on Blacks in the media. I hope Oprah or someone comes to save Johnson Publications.
We still have a long way to go, even within our sub-culture of Hip-Hop/Media industry. I mean honestly, sit back and list off how many darker skinned (Lil Kim bleaching her skin to look cauciniod) entertainers/music female artist that have more notarity and popularity, than lighter skinned ones: Beyonce, Ashanti, Ciara, Keri Hilson and then look at artist like India Erie Jasmie Sullivan, Missy Elliot and others who are not more talented than the artist listed above……We need to wake up and understand the beauty that lies within all Black women….Thank God for the First Lady!!! There is hope! Another perfect example is the artist featured on the back drop of this layout…Goapele is from Oakland, but so is Ledisi. Ledisi is just as talented than Goapele, but does not get the same airplay media support as Goapele.
I am not saying that is the ligther skinned artist fault, but we have a responsibility to stop stimgizing our people, and embrace all beauty and talent of all Black women equally in the media. I would like to see more articles threads on people who are idolized in the media because they “cross over” because of their image is more acceptable, than not to post more on artist like Estelle…
So kudo’s to Concreteloop…I honestly love this site, it is so refreshing to see the articulation and intentional threads that opens dialogue and discussion on media and our people day to day! I honestly get tired of other black blog sites, not mentioning any names, and every other day there is nothing but Kim K and her fake cakes posted, and nothing of real value to talk about!
I say do your thang Estelle. She may not be the image or projection of what the industry wants her to be, and this is why I support and love her as not only an artist, but someone who is an individual not being defined or created by the media for the media. But we still have a long way to go my people!!!!
I’m sorry, but a lot of these “designer” bags are just too over the top. Too much going on. I don’t like it.
Beautiful. Black & Proud.
