Even though LeToya Luckett had never given a solid release date for her sophomore project, the follow-up to her 2006 debut, LeToya, fans have been waiting on her new album since late 2007. But with the single, “Not Anymore” picking up radio play and the video is getting lots of love, it now it seems that Lady Love is slated for release on June 23rd.
LeToya has also begun to prepare the new song “Regret” as her second single. A sampler has also been floating around online of a few tracks from Toya, so be on the look out for new music soon.
AMERIE ALBUM NEWS
R&B songstress Amerie recently joined a deal with Def Jam, after being signed to Columbia Records so long. Even though fans knew of her new deal with Def Jam, there was little information about her new project, but it seems as though Amerie has confirmed some information via her Twitter page.
Amerie is titling her fourth studio album, Break Ups to Make Ups and is looking release sometime this summer, either in June or July.
“As an artist, what I want more than anything is for you to feel where I’m coming from, for you to FEEL,” Amerie tweeted. “I don’t know how to put it any other way.”
Amerie is currently in the studio recording with producer Warryn “Baby Dubb” Campbell, and is rumored to have worked with Bangladesh and Pharrell. I’m interested to see what Amerie will offer this time around. Although I wasn’t as a big a fan of her last album, Because I Love It…, Amerie has definitely knocked out some hits on her debut and sophomore sets.
ADRIENNE BAILON SIGNS WITH DEF JAM
Former 3LW and Cheetah Girl member Adrienne Bailon has inked a solo deal with L.A. Reid and Def Jam. After the girls wrapped their Cheetah Girls tour, the group disband and were reportedly let go from their contracts with Disney.
“I think that the brand has now come to an end. But like everything – High School Musical will no longer be. Same thing. We had a great run,” Adrienne shares further.”
“But I think Disney – it was a platform for us to continue the dreams and they want to spread the same Cheetah Girl message to carry with us, which is Girl empowerment. Every project that the three of us do will always incorporate that.”
The young singer has been in the studio with Bryan-Michael Cox, The Dream and K. Brisco. It’s been said that her album will be an up-tempo, pop album. I’m excited to hear what Adrienne’s album will sound like, considering that she was the only talented singer in 3LW.
I think she has the potential to do really well, especially with the push that they are giving her and all the events that she’s been appearing at recently. You can keep updated with Adrienne, her studio sessions and everything she’s been doing by following her on Twitter.
I can’t wait to hear something new from Amerie. It needs to be on the lines of “One Thing” to get people interested again.
Oh and i’m not really excited about Adrienne or LeToya’s projects. They do nothing for me.

Toya is great. I hope she does well. She needs to have more bangers tho. I don’t think she should release “Regret” for the summer. We all loved the bangers on her first album.. The buzz single “Swagger” had me excited too.

Its a little unfair that Adrienne bags the record deal when she was pretty much responsible for the breakup of the cheetah girls- she’s just like those typical lead singers of girlgroups who hog all the attention. And she comes across as really fake/bitchy. But if marketed to the latino pop market she could do well, and since she’s willing to rip of her clothes for a pound she’ll sell cd’s. Can’t wait to hear LeToya’s new album, I love all the snippets, especially “Lazy” and “Lady Love”. “Regret” sounds good, I think it will do pretty well on the radio, but I hope she comes out with a up-tempo track as the 3rd single maybe like “Lady Love”.

I like Amerie. Just because an album doesnt sell 10 million copies doesnt mean it’s a disappointment. I loved ‘Work’, the girl has energy. Not too bothered checkin the rest. In todays industry, you gotta be like Lady Gaga to get noticed. Everyone just seems kinda… meh!

I’m going to have to co sign with #18, When she did “Touch”, with Rich Harrison, that album was hot. There are still songs off of that album that I bump today. She has excellent chemistry with him. The latest album, “Because I love it”, I wasn’t really into it that much.
“Gotta work” had to grow on me and a couple of other songs. It was one of those albums that you listen to once and then go back and listen again. (If that makes since.)
