Singer Maxwell released the video for his new song “Pretty Wings” on Tuesday and can I say that I’m soooo happy he’s back.
Maxwell, who is one of the headliners on The Essence Music Festival this year, will release part one of the highly anticipated trilogy “Black Summer’s Night” on July 7th after an eight year hiatus.

LOVE HIM!!! I have been into him since day one and will continue to be a fan of REAL music. I hope he inspires more artist to focus on the lyrics and not just the beat. Anyone can have a hot beat, but artists take time to make sure their lyrics have meaningful and heartful words.

It still amazes me when Maxwell speaks his voice is raspy but when he sings it’s like a sweet, mellow vibe. Despite him cutting his hair his music still shows the same vibe and I love the song “pretty wings” very beautiful.
I don’t normally comment on this site but MAXWELL IS SO SEXY IT HURTS.! I’m turned on just by looking at him. His sway is sick and his voice is the truth!! Whew can’t wait for the CD’s. Keep doing your thing Man I’m lovin in!!!!

Just wish people would be more creative instead of the boring old sexual standby videos. Expected more from Maxwell. At least the song is creative.
I am glad the Max is back. It would have been nice to see someone his own age in the vid like Lathan, Tyra and a host of other 30 something actresses. I’m really tired of the air head model types. Where is the “GROWN and SEXY?”

When I heard the snippet months ago I played like a 100 times. Glad my brotha is back… big up every time.
I am an avid Max fan. I enjoyed his concert and especially his new song “Cold.” Pretty wings is a pretty video but as a whole it is disappointing and not up to his past creations. In the time of a Black, married, committed president his new release and vid talks about the same old stereotypical womanizing behavior that’s constantly spewed on the air ways. Sure there is no rump shaking, and the women aren’t ho’s, but a middle aged man and young girls has been played out already by Russell and Jay Z.
Were is the courtship or as he has indicated- the complicated or sometimes “BLACK” side of relationships? “Pretty Wings” does not have the depth of “Fortunate” or “Woman’s Work” or the fire and excitement of “Until the Cops comes Knocking.”
I really hope that future releases from BLACK reveal a more developed and deeper side of relationships. “What’s Goin’ On” Max?!
REALLY feeling the song and the video is okay didnt really impress me much but then again none of the videos these days do so yea….but im DEFINATELY suped for my dude maxwell’s return…the industry NEEDS him and that soulful sound he brought back in da day LifetimE, This Womans Work, WhenEver WhereEver WhenEver and Fortunate still remain my top favz from him. Hope the cd’s worth da wait
