If it’s one label we will continue to see a lot of this summer, it’s definitely Balmain. Since it’s Fall 2008 collection, the 80s inspired rocker-glam designs have been spotted all over Hollywood and recently on CL’s favorites Rihanna and Beyonce.
And this collection is far from cheap folks – Beyonce above wore Balmain’s Crystal-embellished canvas jacket priced at $11,410. Rihanna wore a Military style denim jacket from the same Summer/Spring 2009 collection priced at $5,075. Take a look at more expensive Balmain designs after the cut – would you rock it?

i like the jackets but can’t afford it. i can’t imagine ever imagine paying that for a denim jacket or jeans if i could. what people fail to realize is that celebrities rarely pay for that ish! the designers are getting FREE advertising by celebs rockin their clothes and then the masses scrap together the dough to buy it. if you get creative you can find similar styles for much less.

I’m not a big fan of those jackets at all, but Rihanna’s looks way better. Or, maybe she just wears it better. Beyonce doesn’t have the edge, or rock star appeal, to pull it off, she looks like she’s trying too hard. Her jacket would like way better on Rihanna. You can tell by looking at those pics that Rihanna just has way more confidence, swag and cool about her. She could make anything look stylish.

The studded sandals and black (officer) jacket look alright. Everything else is fugly. In my opinion, an expensive article of clothing doesn’t necessarily mean it’s fashionable/ flattering.
The jackets are ugly but the black crystal studded sandals are cute. The white jacket looks ooookay at best but not really feelin that either.
The denim version is so much easier on the eye. I hope Beyonce did not spend all that money on that ugly jacket (I can see the 1992/Michael Jackson/Russian militia inspiration), because it is more costume-y, and not flattering on her at all. the jackets are nice but to me, they have an incredibly poor fit….it makes the stars look 20 lbs heavier. if they are willing to spend the big bucks to buy it, they might as well shell out a few bucks to tailor it too.

ri-ri since day one had her own style in fashion, she wear things that us reg folk would not look rite in but she pulls it off and mostly looks natural in it. she is just one of those who can wear just about anything even that ugly (mj) jacket. while on the other hand bey looks like a damn fool with that jacket on. she tries really hard to compete with ri and her clothes tell the story, she has not discovered her look and thats not good b/c it makes her look like she did in the pic above…like a damn fool.
