Concrete Loop was exclusively given a listen to to the girls of Electrik Red’s debut album, How to Be A Lady: Volume 1. So, we’ve got a couple of exclusive from the Binkie, Naomi, Leslie and Sarah.
The album was written and produced by The Dream and Tricky Stewart in its entirety, and they are signed to his Radio Killa Records imprint. The girls are set to release their debut next Tuesday, May 26th.

I actually like Electrik Red. I liked their song “So Good” too…… Until Lil’ Wayne hopped on it. Not saying that I don’t like Wayne, but just because he’s hot doesn’t mean he has to get on everybody’s song. Almost like T-Pain being on everything now., it gets annoying. Please don’t jump on the bandwagon ladies!!!!!

They can sing and they can most definitely dance!They all started out as DANCERS, PROFESSIONALLY!They were in the Ciara, “Like A Boy”, video, and thats one the sickest videos ever choreography wise. So lets not judge on their dancing abilities at all! I mean I’m pretty sure that you aren’t even a dancer because if you knew what you were talking about then your opinion would be different!As far as their sound, they’re something new to the music game. There are no female groups that are just killing it right now except Pussycat Dolls! However, I see them as a passing fad. Electrik Red is so needed right now for female groups. Maybe they’re no Destiny’s Child, but shit who is???That’s why they are themselves.Fresh and original unlike most copycat artists that reside on the music scene today. This girl group is gonna last because they are best friends and they all wanted to be in a girl group. And they are NOT the black PCD they are so diff. If ya’ll stop puttin them down and give them a chance, you will grow to like them.

This girl group doesn’t have it. At all. I am kind of offended that some people are attempting to compare them to Vantiy/Apollonia 6. Those groups were the first of their kind, this group is not. This group does not stand out. Nor does their material. They don’t seem like real entertainers or artists but some girls that looked cute that the Dream through together to see how this would work. They don’t have the vocal talents of DC nor the energy of PCD. They just don’t stand out amongst their peers.
The beat is iight but sounds dated! These girls don’t have IT at all. First of all, they’re too old, and second of all the lead singer’s voice is too soulful and low to be in a girl group of today. They’re not crossover whatsoever. NEXT!
Electrik Red is the Way, the Truth, and the Light. They are a group of ladies that will dominate. Their music is a hit and must be heard!!! I love them!!!!. They are the best!!

I like the beat but the lyrics are garbage as most of the ish on the radio. Plus I still think their album title is a f-ing joke but whatever. If you want a good album to cop, I suggest coping The Working Title’s new album. Now that’s a good album w/ good material!
Electrik Red is the shit! say wat u will about them but The Dream is making magic witht them. Definitly coppin the album when it hits the stores.
I am just hoping that we will get to a place where we will stop allowing the media and industry powers that be to spoon feed us what is supposed to be “hott” or whatever. The best artists of any genre usually come along from a natural or underground following. When just hearing the song (without the filter of a blog spot or a thousand commercials telling you haw great it’s supposed to be) makes you want to know WHO is that singing. I mean like the first time you heard Maxwell or Jill Scott or even Keyshia Cole or SWV back in the day. You heard the song, you though WOW a new sound or a great voice and that was how they got on. Right now, I’m sick of the cookie cutter “look” and the formula.. Doctor up the voices/Throw some overpowering production on a track so that people only hear the hook and you’ve got a hit… oh yeah, don’t forget to dumb the lyrics down so it will sell. I mean, they might very well be talented and all… but I’m just saying.
