The Los Angeles Times reports that up and coming Atlanta-based rapper Dolla (Roderick Anthony Burton II), 21, was shot and killed outside of Los Angeles’ Beverly Center shopping mall just after 3 p.m. PDT on Monday.
Though the Los Angeles Police Dept. would not confirm the identity of the victim, the Times reports that Dolla’s publicist, Sue Vannasing, confirmed to the newspaper that her client was shot outside the mall, while waiting with fellow rapper D.J. Shabbazz.
The shooting reportedly occurred during a group melee, possibly also involving a knife. Police have detained a person of interest, whom the LAPD would not name and said had not yet been arrested. Dolla is perhaps best known for the single “Who The F— is That?” featuring T-Pain.
T.I. TURNING HIMSELF IN THIS MONTH; SENTENCE REDUCED
Popular rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris is set to turn himself in to authorities toward the end of this month but, not in Georgia as believed; he will instead spend time in Arkansas low security prison.
According to a release issued Friday, the rapper is due to check-in at Forrest City Arkansas’ low security prison May 26 where he’ll join roughly 1,500 inmates. There, he will serve time related to federal weapons charges after avoiding a 10 year prison sentence through a combination of community service, house detention and probationary agreements.
According to reports, Harris will be credited for 305 days of home detention he already has served after being charged, so his stay at the Forrest City prison likely will be only two months instead of 1 year as previously reported.
Must be nice to serve “home confinment” and get 2 months in prison..what’s the point of going just give him the rest of the 60 days at the crib. He done been every where this past year….I guess it’s related to “business”…um I guess.

I grew in the city of Inglewood in the 80′s, when gangs were very prominent in the city. Where the word of choice was what set you claim. I couldn’t where certain colors so as not to give allegiance to any certain gang faction. I would figure with all the black on black crimes. Black people would get a clue and say enough is enough. My people when will enough be enough?
I remember you could get into a fight and that would be it. You took your whippen or gave the whippen, and live another day. I was just on msn reading the article about Dolla and had to log off cuz I was so disgusted of the comments on the board. “Another rapper dead..who cares? this isnt news!” and making jokes that he’s 50 Cent’s brother and it literally made my stomach turn. i loved (dolla) he was so cute and his music was wonderful and i was looking foward to getting to see what he was really about. the man that killed my futer boi-friend needs to stay in prision 4 life cause killing is not the way to solve things. and sinc he thinks taking someone elses life is okay he needs his life taken. dolla didnt even get to see life yet he was soooooo young and it makes me sad to think of what happen. im waiting on someone to reach out to me and say i have been PUNKED cause i only got to meet (dolla) once and its just not right.
