Even after the release of her latest album, Human, Brandy is already back at work for her sixth studio album.
While on tour in Europe, it has been reported that Brandy will have songs penned by The Dream and will soon go in the studio with Pharrell. She has also been rumored to have been in the studio with Stargate.
It’s not yet known the direction that Brandy is taking for the new album, but will record a duet with her younger brother.
ERYKAH BADU NEW ALBUM + TOUR
Erykah Badu finally releasing the anticipated second installment of her “Amerykah” series, and will be touring for the next couple of months.
Noting over ten scheduled dates, Badu will spend much of late May and June on the road performing songs from “New Amerykah Part One (4th World Ward),” including stops in Phoenix, Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco, before wrapping up in Manchester, TN.
“New Amerykah, Part Two (Return of the Ankh)” is due in stores this fall.
T.I. & MARY J. BLIGE TO FILM NEW VIDEO
T.I. is due to shoot a video for his Mary J. Blige assisted single “Don’t Forget,” which is also the first cut from a special re-release of the 2X Platinum certified album “Paper Trail” (2008).
On the song, released this week, Mary J. Blige sings “Don’t forget to remember me. Please keep me in your heart, if we ever have to part”.

Brandy would make a lot more money if she actually wrote her own songs. And the duet with Ray J is a no no, surely she could collaborate with someone who had talent. Nonetheless I normally like her albums, they’re always solid.

I dont think Brandy is washed up. She needs to leave them lame ass producers (THE DREAM) alone. And Pharrell is hit and miss when he works with female artists. She needs to beat Bryan Cox over the head and tell him to make her some hits and stop giving them to Mary J. and Mariah.

Brandys new album should be a lot more fun, i think she realised that she didnt tap into the fun side on the human album or that the label wanted to focus on her vunerbale side, as she was being humble about her ressurection into da industry but im sure this time shes eager for the fun.. she kept goin on about ‘first in luv’ being her third single off da human album and that track was fun. SICK beat !/SICK vocals?!! MADD adlibs?!! Just hope that her next effort gets a stronger promotion, and that the tracks for the new album are carefully selected, and the right singles are released. As for Ray.. i think they should save that for there collabo album,, but who knows. Brandy Getd NUFF love for me either way!!!

E. Badu: I’ll point-blank buy anything she makes…I don’t even have to listen to it. “Soldier” is my fav song off of her current album. I was riding with my mother a few weeks ago and that was song playing. And my mama was listening to the lyrics and summed up her feelings about the song nicely: “It sure is nice to listen to music that actually says something”.
There’s only so many songs about booties, break-ups and clubs that a person can take.

Brandy is the truth as has been since she hopped on the scene in the early 90′s and she still going strong. All the chicks who are out here Beyonce, Rihanna, Ciara she has already done what they have and done it by being herself and not by taking off her clothes, She did it with raw talent. She paved the way for all the girls. Brandy was the first chick to be able to have a successful music career, tv, movie, and put up #1 singles and sell millions of albums. She will make a true comeback cause talent rises above everything. I hope she is able to get the recognition that she truly deserves. Do your thing BROCKA I love ya and can’t wait for the new album.

i liked her last effort. yeah it was further than her usual left of center self, but if you really listen to it, there is truth laced through every track. no wonder it got so many accolades as “album of the year” or “top 10 albums of ’08.” sista is the truth.

Brandy’s last album Human did not do so well due to lack of promotion. Well as you know Brandy is in the works on her 6th studio Album, which I can go ahead and tell you I have heard a few snippets and I’m telling you Brandy is about to tear the game up. THis album is going back to the Never Say Never and Full Moon Realm. Brandy is going back to her roots and bringing a new style and new vocals. You thought Brandy had Range you have not seen nothing yet just to give yo an example. Listen to One Thing on youtube by Ms. B-Rocka and just listen to the vocals on that and just think of How bad it’s going to be. Summer is what Brandy is shooting for. Not yet set in stone.
