All these artists are getting back to the drawing board really quickly this time around. Usher, who made us wait years in between releases of his last albums, is already gearing up for release of his follow-up to last year’s Here I Stand.
The new project is set to be titled Monster. Now, with a title like that, I am definitely expecting a beast. Usher better come hard this time around, because the last album left me a little bit cold.
LIL’ WAYNE SUFFERS ANOTHER DELAY
Weezy fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer for Lil’ Wayne’s rock effort, Rebirth, which has been pushed back to July 21th from it’s original June 23rd date.
Lil’ Wayne, who is about to go on tour again, is still in the studio, recording tracks for the album. Rebirth, lead by the single “Prom Queen,” will feature cameos from Young Money artist Shanell, Fall Out Boy, Kevin Rudolf and Avril Lavigne. Should be interesting.
LETOYA LUCKETT’S ALBUM PUSHED BACK
The much-awaited sophomore solo LP from former Destiny’s Child bandmate LeToya Luckett, which was also originally slated for release on June 23rd is also being subject to delays.
Lady Love is now to hit shelves on August 25th. LeToya’s album has seen a few delays over the past couple of months. But fans can expect to see a second video from LeToya with her new single, the Cory Bold-produced “She Ain’t Got Shit On Me,” in the near future.

Someone should tell Toya that pushing your album back doesn’t guarantee a hit album (i.e. Ciara) Not Anymore is a good song and the video is still on 106 & Park. I hope she doesn’t end up like Teairra Mari where day after day it seems that her album won’t see the light.

Yes, it a way there were some good song, however it wasn’t the Usher we ALL KNOW AND LOVE! For instance if the the old Usher in the 8701/confessions days could see his music career and listen to Here I stand in the future, the old Usher would Run and say,” OH Heck no I anit going down like that!’, Ya feel me?!” LOL Teh album was really all about Temeka and it didn’t flow very well, here I stand was mess of an album at least for Usher and his fans, me being one of them. I hope this album is a million times beter for goodness sake!
“Prom Queen” was ridiculous, though radios ate it up..it’s utter rubbish. And Usher messed himself up by doing the R&B sounding remix to “In this Club”…Even though urban radio loved it, it seemed at odds with the mainstream and that somehow amplified his reality — MARRIED FATHER. It’s why he didn’t do well. It’s funny to think that Beyonce is a curse, though because she usually halts/impedes success when she’s featured on stuff. Remember Amil as the hotly anticipated artist until that single with Beyonce? lol AAnd if I remember correctly, Justin Timberlake’s remix to “Until the End of Time” with Beyonce marked the end of his string of number ones. What about 50 Cent’s song with DC (or her, because only she was audible) and then being dropped from his label? And the song that almost cost Jay Z his reputation “Me and My Girlfriend”? lol It seems we have our own little conspiracy theory here.
I can’t believe Letoya’s album is getting pushed by again this is the second or third time! I hope she release her album soon. Lil wayn: I think the rock album is a Sheer DONT DO IT Weezy, RUN! I think the video Weezy did with Kevin Rodolf-Let it Rock had some influence on Weezy hence th e “rock” album. I never thought a rapper would do a rock album, that just doesn’t sound right on soooo many levels.
Usher’s CD was not bad at all. Plus, no one makes an album these days that you can listen to all the way through and people do not really support R&B like they use to.
I think LiL Wayne’s album will do well. His fan base is black and white plus he’s featuring artist on his album who are popular in their genre so even if people don’t listen to LiL Wayne he will get play on different stations just because of the people he’s collaborating with.

In my opinion I think Usher’s Here I Stand was an excellent album! I mean I can still listen to it from beginning to end. I thought it was very mature and he was signing about some significant stuff! I think Usher is capable of making club bangers but I think he has hit that age when its like ok I found a solid chick and Ima do her right, Im not gonna be this young playboy forever!! I mean, Before I Met You, Best Thing, What Yo Name Is, Moving Mountains, Love You Gently, In This Club, Something Special and Trading Places (which was a hot a$$ video) TO sum it up…looking forward to this new album!

Lil Wayne’s CD being push back is a method they use to increase anticipation. They used this same method for his last CD. Which resulted to the million sales he had in the first week… DO ANYONE RECALL HIS LAST BEING PUSH BACK JUST LIKE THIS ONE……..TRYING TO BUILD ANTICIPATION….THATS IT
I had to get used to Here I Stand because it was a huge contrast to his previous albums. Here I Stand was full of ballads, which threw me off becuz his previous albums were straight club bangers. So I had to re-tune my ears so that I could give Here I Stand a fair assessment. In a nutshell, it was a decent album if u want to hear slow love songs.
Letoya is cool but so many artists already did the Motown remake sound…so it make sense that they pushed it back to help make her stand out more. Amy, Estelle, and Solange already did the motown sound recently so it would be overkill if she did it. IMO. And Lil Wayne- no thank you. He sound like an overdosed fool on the rock singles.
