Sad news to report. Mike Tyson’s daughter passed away early Tuesday afternoon. Here is the info:
Exodus Tyson was pronounced dead just before noon, police Sgt. Andy Hill said. She had been on life support and police have said their investigation showed her injury on Monday was a “tragic accident.”
“There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus,” the family said in a statement. “We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal.” [SOURCE]
The 4-year-old daughter of former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson was critically injured on Monday in what police said was a tragic accident at home. According to reports, Exodus Tyson was found by her 7-year-old brother hanging from the cord of a treadmill. At press time was reported to be in “extremely” critical condition and on life support at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The toddler was reportedly playing near the exercise equipment in the family’s Phoenix home while her mother was elsewhere in the house cleaning on Monday morning. When her mother sent the boy to look for Exodus, he found her tangled in the cord. He alerted the mother, who immediately called 911 and began performing CPR.
“Somehow the little girl got something caught across her throat, she became unresponsive, the boy went and got the mother, and the mother came out and found the child,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Andy Hill told the Phoenix Fox affiliate.
Tyson, who has been promoting a documentary about his life for the past month, “Tyson,” was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident and reportedly flew home immediately upon receiving word of it.
Police are calling the mishap a “tragic accident.” A police spokesperson said that there was “nothing in the investigation that revealed anything suspicious.”

We don’t know how the child got to the trademill and got caught with a wire, we shouldn’t start judging, the family just lost a babygirl and what we can do is say ” the mother shuld be with the child”. yes i agree bt how many of yall keep eye to ur child 24/7?. Get tha fuck outta here, this family lost a loved one and this isnt the time to say she should be with her daughter what not. Just pay for the family.
This story is truly sad. Although she was rushed to the hospital, the little girl died. I am deeply saddened by this whole thing. There’s no telling what the rest of the family is going through right now. I hope some parents’ learn from this and make sure that they keep a better eye on what their children do.
WHo was watching this baby!? See once again, everybody’s going to ignore the reason for the accident, and just give their condolences to the family, when this could have been prevented. People need to watch their kids, even when they are at home. People get home, and sometimes just let their kids run free….Is there ever a reason to just let a four year old roam around the house freely without an adult’s knowledge of what they are doing? She should have been watched closely. If that can’t happen, then she needs to be a child proof/safe room with toys, etc., where she could entertain herself for hours, instead of giving her free reign of the house and wandering and getting into the things; that’s what kids do, they are curious, it’s not there fault….WHERE WAS HER DAMN MAMA?

I disagree…this is PRECISELY the time to point out those things because it’s about preventing this shyt from happening to the next child or next family. This is the time for pointing fingers, because these things happen all the time because parents drop the ball or are neglectful. And the first thing people say is, we shouldn’t judge or address the issue…..yes we should address the issue, because if we don’t we gone have alot more post starting with RIP and my condolences…
Are parents watching their kids 24/7, probably not…should they be, hell yeah, no excuses. It’s their job though it’s a hard one.
This is very tragic and sad. I send my prayers out to the family. I know that it is very difficult to lose a child but even harder when they are that young. I don’t want to be a bitch but why did the child have access to an excercise room. The door should be closed and lock when there is a child that young around… Once again my condolences to the family.

the only scandal is that mother wasnt watching her while she was cleaning up..children need to be supervised and for anyone who is saying she was in the house you must let your kids run around not supervised and your offended..watch your kids..period. but that mom is going to have to live with that and that is going to be hard in itself..she is going to feel guilty..so learn from her mistake.

There is no reason for this to have happened. If you have dangerous equipment like treadmills in your home you need to make sure your young child doesn’t have access to it! Yes part of being a parent is being responsible for where your kids are and what they are doing! A treadmill wire wrapped around her neck and choked her to the point of being unconscious??? Sorry but that takes time to get to the point of being unconscious. So she was obviously left alone for A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. You parents have to do better than this. It’s not ok to just let your kids roam around with no supervision and THIS IS EXACTLY WHY!!!!!!

Second, to all ya’ll that just want to blame it on the mom, the POLICE investigated and saw nothing suspicious, so STFU!! IF you have children, then you understand that it is not possible to watch them 24/7. And then with those griping about the mom letting her daughter run around the house…that’s just plain ignorant. Kids are full of energy. Of course she was running around the house. Stop being so F***ING negative! This family needs love and support, not judgment. They are going to bear this cross the rest of their lives. They don’t need criticism and skepticsm from a group of internet NOBODIES! Yes, I have a little girl who’s not quite one and her dad and I let her explore her environemt. If that makes me a bad mom, cause I let her have “free reign” of the house, then so be it. Thisis a very sad accident. My prayers and well wishes go out to the family. I do have to say this though, not every accident can or is meant to be prevented unfortunately. It is sad that everytime a child dies, people are ready to point figures. IT is physically impossible for someone to always have their eyes on a child. sSometimes these things happen just so that improvements cam be made where need be and to bring awareness. No need to point fingers. I am a parent of 3 and I know that you do have to safety proof all that appears to be an immediate threat to a child, but I also know there are things that you may not even expect to cause harm and can. Pray for this woman because she already has to live with this and the thought that she was there and this happened. She sent her other child to look for her as I have also when I know when I am doing something and my 4 year old is a “little too quiet”. Apparently, not all treadmills are the same. I use one almost daily at the gym and for the life of me I can not envision what cord they are referring to how this happened, hence the phrase “freak accident”. Poor baby. What a traumatic thing for a little 4 year old to have gone through. I hope something positive can come out of this. It will bring awareness and the manufacturer of this treadmill may have the opportunity to make improvements. God watch over this family, especially her poor older brother that found her.

And it is impossible to watch your kids 24/7. Kids will always get into stuff. We as parents just have to do the best we can do. I know the mom is going to take this extremly hard but trust in God and know thats its not your fault.

RIP to Exodus. very sad. i admit that i passed over this pots and didn’t think to look last time but i just saw the headline that she died. a little ashamed i didn’t look at it before
this was an accident. personally, i believe kids should be watched 24/7 but i admit that when i was that age, i had relatives in the house most of the time (same for my cousins when they were growing up at that age) so no matter where i went, there were people in the room watching. plus i obviously don’t live in a mansion like tyson so there are less rooms to roam anyway. i don’t know how it is for parents who have to watch kids all by themselves in such a big house so i’m not judging her at all. she probably feels horrible right now
