If you’ve been in any airport recently than you’ve most likely seen crowds of people wearing surgical masks in an attempt to protect them from the Swine Flu or H1N1 outbreak.
Many celebs are definitely following suit, including: Kelly Rowland, Lil Jon, Trey Songz, and Keri Hilson. They recently posted pictures on twitter:

The World Health Organization said Friday that the number of confirmed H1N1 cases stood at 365 worldwide, including 141 in the United States and 156 in Mexico. Thirteen countries have confirmed cases, the organization said.

I’m sorry but I don’t agree with the aids/ swine flu comparison. In a way it’s like comparing basketball to knitting. Because first off, you have control over who you sleep with and under what circumstances (for the most part). So if you’re dumb enough to sleep with a person and not even bother to see if they have aids or STDs then that is your fault and that is on you. However, you can’t control if you get swine flu or not. Just like Lil jon was saying, you may have ignorant people coughing and sneezing all up in your space and the flu is transported by air.
I agree that the Swine flu is being too hyped, but I totally disagree with comparing it to Aids. It should just be compared to the common flu, because people die from that also. Its just a different strand.
Swine Flu is a man made virus. You do not have 3 different strands i.e bird flu, human flu and swine flu occurring naturally. Don’t believe the hype, research it for yourselves. This is another scare tactic/fear mongering implemented by the government.
The pharmaceutical companies are going to make billions off of this. The vaccine itself is what you need to fear because it will give you the actual manufactured virus and whatever else they decide to give you actually making you sick. They came with the same “swine flu” propaganda in 1976, you can youtube it. You should also google/youtube ‘swine flu hoax’. The celebs are mere puppets as with anything else, even some of their music.
I was in the military and they would make us get annual flu shots which made you feel within inches of death. I had to stop taking those vaccines and risk being put on profile. Those vaccines did nothing to protect you, they made you extremely sick with the virus in order to “build up your immune system”. I didn’t take them for 3 years and not once did I get the virus yet people who had taken the vaccine would get colds and influenza, ok yea sure.
Keri Hillson is the most annoying, most useless “artist” ever. She’s so tacky and useless..seriously. The only thing she ever did worth mentioning is write Britney’s “Gimme More”…Too bad she can’t perform to save her life. She’s even lamer than Ciara and you have to be VERY VERY LAME to top them. Folks are just wearing the masks to get attention–even non-celebs. No one is really taking this thing seriously, and honestly, I do find the whole mask thing amusing because it’s distracting everyone from the terrible economy, etc etc. However, if, the Lord forbid, people do begin dying in significant numbers from this flu, it won’t be so funny anymore.

@#55 This is NOT a manmade virus. It is a mixture of the Bird Flu, Regular,(and somethin else) then it mutaded once it reached Pigs. Then it spread back to humans.
It began from farmers’ contact with pigs in Mexico, then it just began to spread from there.
Keep good hygene, carry some germ-x, cough into a tissue then throw it away. Things like that could keep you safe as long as you don’t have prolonged contact with someone else who has it. Otherwise you don’t really need to worry about it. =D Stay Safe!
One more thing, a person can carry the virus for about 3 days before symptoms show. So crowded places are a NO-NO! But is only contagious for 10 days max.

Just wash your hands when you out and about, cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, throw away the tissues…its not rocket science. i saw a lady the other day walking down the road covering her mouth with some kind of material. I think what is hilarious is that none of these masks work. The type of mask that is needed is an N95 respirator type mask. The air from your lungs causes the mask to be ineffective after about 20 mins. All they need to do is WASH THERE HANDS!!!
You can wear a mask all you want but the best prevention is good ol’ fashion HAND WASHING with soap and water.
