To be able to take a risk and to have that genuine interest from people is so rare. It actually made making this record even more precious. It was that pure energy. It was like, ‘oh, this is why I do it.’ It’s because people care about real music and they’ll wait for you.”
BLACKsummers’night, is in stores on July 7th.

I saw Maxwell in concert last fall. I do NOT understand why he did not release THIS song instead of Pretty Wings. This cut has a much more mature and seasoned flava and is what I expected out of a man with more refined and evolving taste.

This song is tight but its on a mix like a neo soul mix and I’m mad cause I can’t remember the name of the CD i heard this on, but it had GOAPELE or whatever her name is who is fly, RASHAAN PATTERSON and others who are underrated but it flowed perfectly.
