Michael Jackson was so much more than just the ultimate entertainer – he was an international icon in many aspects, especially fashion. Everyone not only knew Michael because of his moves or his voice, or even media craze, but he also made himself known through his wardrobe.
We all know that signature glittery glove Michael performed with, or the fly red leather “Thriller” jacket he premiered in the horror video. Remember the aviators Michael loved to rock? And the many military jackets Jackson rocked waaay before the current Balmain ones hit the scene.
Michael has paved the way for fashion in music and expressed himself in such like no other entertainer. So many designers and artists today are clearly influenced by Jackson’s look – it just shows how huge of an impact this one man had in entertainment. There will never be another MJ yet, he will live on in his music and millions of images we can still view forever.
Michael was such a cutie when he was younger. Like I said, no other artist has been – or will ever be – as influential as Michael.

I always loved Mike, never believed the bull the media said about him. My dad made sure I was introduced to this man for his talent, and the wonderful heart he had. About him getting lighter, like number 31 said..he had the disease and he has admitted to getting surgery to cover it up..but it got worst. It’s not about what he looked like, it’s about what he sounded like. I really wish people wud stop trying to tear him apart..they did that enough wen he was with is. Now he’s not, let’s show respect.

Hey Angel please can you do a topic on the disease Michael was living with? He had a condition called Vitiligo, evidence of this can be found on youtube… Its a condition where by the body starts to attack the black pigments of the skin…

OMG…I love michael SOOOOO much he and his video’s are in my earliest memories of a child. I was born at the beginning of the 90’s so by the time i came out Mike was a fully fledged Legend. I’ve always loved him and so has my mum (hence the exposure to his music at such an early age. I just hope (i would have said pray as it sounds better but REALITY is i probably won’t pray for this, nothing against mike just i honestly don’t pray as much as i should due to laziness and forgetfulness) he doesn’t have any form of cancer. this disesase is no joke. we’ve just found out a family has this and this our very first experience with cancer as NOBODY else in our family that we know of has ever had it. Either way we were never promised to stay here long. I’m only 19 (and only just turned last month) but since this birthday i have a feeling that somethings coming ( i don’t want to get into specifics as tbh this IS a celebrity gossip site notchurch or wherever else!) I just want to make things right with God because you never know when your time is up…

I liked him best when he would simplify is clothes. I’ll always remember him in black pants and penny loafers, white socks a v-neck t-shirt and a plain white button down shirt. Its like he made a bet with someone that he could wear the plainest most basic clothes and still rock the house. He did indeed.
We live in a world where difference separates us. Most people who travel their own path are not accepted. Michael Jackson was proof positive that true genius will never be denied. I loved his fashion sense but he meant a lot more than that to me. He showed me and a lot of people in my generation that anything was possible. That you did not have to picket, march, or beg to be accepted, just be the best at what you do, and nobody can deny you.
I was a teenager in the 80′s when he was so popular. I know I am probably a bit older than most of the people making comments on here. When Thriller came out, MTV was not playing black videos. I don’t think younger people can feel how recent that was. It is 27 years later. I went to a high school that was mixed, but when we had dances the black kids danced to our songs and the white kids danced to theirs… Everybody danced to Michael’s music. All the girls had his poster on their wall, white, black, whatever. I fell in love with dance because of this man and still dance professionally today. I have had the opportunity to travel the world. Around the world they rock this man’s music. Worldwide, people storm the dance floor when “Don’t stop til you get enough” is played. Some of the hardest guys I know get that twinkle in their eyes when they hear Mike’s music and you can just look at them and know they used to dance in front of the TV when Billie Jean came on.
It takes a very special individual to touch so many. RIP Michael, there’s always gonna be a white glove in my purse to remind me of you.

In 1986 Michael Jackson was diagnosed with Vitiligo and Lupus. Vitiligo is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. Lupus is an auto-immune and inflammatory disease which attacks healthy cells, tissues and organs and can be fatal. In the 1993 Oprah Winfrey interview with Jackson he finally admitted to having this illness to debunk the ‘skin bleaching’ rumors.
Vitiligo is associated with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases like Lupus and Addison’s. Lupus can cause inflammation of the heart, lungs, joints and many, like Jackson, experience pneumonia and cardiac manifestations and anemia. Extreme fatigue and joint pain are common with Lupus. Although it seemed odd years ago, Michael wearing a mask was wise. He came into contact with millions of people, each one a risk to his health when living with Lupus.
There is no cure for Vitiligo, nor is there a cure for Lupus.
Treatments for Vitiligo include a topical steroid cream (mild topical corticosteroid cream). Corticosteroids are a group of drugs similar to hormones such as cortisone and are often used to treat Lupus patients. Ultraviolet therapy and photochemotherapy may be use to help darken the patches, although this may increase skin cancer risk, burning or blistering. Vitiligo patients with over 50% of their body may opt for depigmentation, to match the already depigmented areas.
My heart is broken and I cannot stop crying. Michael is gone…but I have comfort in knowing he is in a better place. Here are a few things I would like to share:

But throughout it all his bright star always shined and he always gave us his best he always gave us MICHAEL!
Now he is at rest and I pray he finds true peace we as his family, his fans and his peers will miss him forever. but he will undeniably live in our hearts forever. There is only one thing left to say to the man who gave us dreams, magic, joy, fun, tears, mind blowing moves, quirkiness, and music that will be forever and always….Thank You Michael for a job well done. For the reocrd, Michael DID NOT BLEACH his SKIN…he had a skin disease…vitaligo….around the time of OFF THE WALL and THRILLER, he started to develop blotches of white alomost colorless skin…the heavy foundation was an attempt to even out his skin color….by the time BAD came, he had already turned color. he wore alot of makeup then too…as well as the glove…that was to cover up the white blotches….that wasn’t a fashion statement at the time it was to cover up what was happening with his skin…as well as the umbrellas…he could be terribly burned because of his disease…read up on him before you keep spreading lies about what you think you know and let him rest in peace…he deserves all that and more.
Michael, I love you…I have loved you ever since I can remember…grew up on your music and your movies…The Wiz and Moonwalker….I hope heaven has room for you and your big heart…you have real fans out here who loved you and never believed the BS allegations of the poor trying to scheme to get reach off of your downfall…sad that they admitted their lies after your passing…but you are clear and free and those liars will pay inside with guilt for slandering your name….It is sad that you are gone but you will live forever through your music and through your fans…peace and blessings to you and your family during their time of mourning.
