Michael Jackson was so much more than just the ultimate entertainer – he was an international icon in many aspects, especially fashion. Everyone not only knew Michael because of his moves or his voice, or even media craze, but he also made himself known through his wardrobe.
We all know that signature glittery glove Michael performed with, or the fly red leather “Thriller” jacket he premiered in the horror video. Remember the aviators Michael loved to rock? And the many military jackets Jackson rocked waaay before the current Balmain ones hit the scene.
Michael has paved the way for fashion in music and expressed himself in such like no other entertainer. So many designers and artists today are clearly influenced by Jackson’s look – it just shows how huge of an impact this one man had in entertainment. There will never be another MJ yet, he will live on in his music and millions of images we can still view forever.

ICONIC.
this is great. i will love him forever and ever.
The Greatest Icon whoever lived! He’ll be forever missed! You can finally rest now no more heartache & no more suffering Rest In Peace Michael Joseph Jackson Forever THE KING
wow he definitely had an original look. man rip MJ thats all I can say. this man was an icon on and off the stage.
i looovve you michael R.I.P
MICHEAL HAD HIS OWN LOOK.. SEE YA WHEN I GET TO HEAVEN.
I will miss Michael Jackson he was a good person with a big heart.
R.I.P
Will ANYONE ever even come close to being as fearless and original as this man? I’m not too sure.
We will miss you MJ…RIP….
the King of Pop will live on forever!!!!
I love all the FLASH and glitter he used to have. I love how he literally dressed up as the KING of pop with all those tops. He was REALLY HOT too, its a shame because you can see how much he wanted to be lighter. Putting on heavy foundation to lighten his skin then he eventually bleaches…..honestly though he still looked hot during the BAD era with the white skin and even with the first nose job. When he kept working on his nose it got worse.
But yeah, I just recently started noticing how fashionable he was!
all of you are fake as hell
just maybe two weeks ago they had a who rocked it better with michael when he had on them animal print pants and that balmain jacket and you all trashed him ungodly..
now you wanna talk about how fly he was..
you all are late
RIP MIKE>>>
One word: FEARLESS!!!
Wow how soon the record changes a week or two ago you were mocking his fashion now you are praising it?…. Shame on the media and blogs for their shameful hypocrisy…
R.I.P MJ you are in a place where no vultures, media and malicious blogs will hurt you no more…
mj will always be a legend he will forever be missed
rip mj i love you
he will always the king of pop
R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON!!! I LOVE THOSE FITS…AND THANK U CONCRETELOOP FOR BEING SO POSITIVE & SHARING ALL OF THESE NICE PICS OF THE KING OF POP
@ 13. Concrete Loop never mock’d Michael’s fashion. That who Rock’d It Better was light-hearted. You guys are taking things too seriously in light in MJ’s death. MJ was known to rock women’s clothing and he rock’d those animal print leggings. Shout out to CL for always repping for Michael! They never ONCE spoke negatively about the ICON – that’s why I respect them!
@ tiny
honestly the comments are directed at the people postin comments talkin bout how fly he was
these are the SAME people that when they had the who rocked it better they trashed him to no end..the same people..dont justify it now and say it was all lighthearted and in fun because if you go back and read those comments they were not light hearted and fun..maybe you should go have a looksy
13 is right…its fake..
CL just post the topics..its everyone else who makes the comments so they did nothin wrong in my eyes
MICHEAL WAS MORE THAN AN ICON TO ME…HE WAS APART OF MY CHILDHOOD…HE WAS MY CHILDHOOD!!…THE REASON I BEGAN PROF. DANCING CAREER WHEN I WAS 3 WAS BECAUSE OF HIM…AND ONE OF THE REASONS I BECOME A FASHION MAJOR IN COLLEGE WAS ALSO BECAUSE OF HIM…PPL FAIL TO REALIZED THAT HES WAS A PERSON WITH FAMILY AND REAL FEELINGS I THINK JANET SAID IT BEST LAST NITE WEN SHE SAID “HES AN ICON TO U BUT FAMILY TO US” IMAGINE HOW IT FEELS TO HAVE UR BROTHER’S,FATHER’S, OR SON’S DEATH PLASTERED EVERYWHERE… IT HURTS ME THE WAY PPL LOOK AT HIS DEATH AND SEE $$$ SIGNS….I REALLY WISH BET GAVE HIM THE PROPER TRIBUTE THAT SUCH A LEGEND DESERVES…HE WAS THE WORLD LAST REAL SUPERSTAR! NOW THAT HES GONE NOT ONLY WILL I GRIEVE BUT SO DOES THE WORLD!
People MJ had a skin condition called Vitiligo which is when the body attacks the black pigments of the skin, Michael had universal Vitiligo which is widespread.. Only treatment option in the 80′s was dipigmentation…
Type Michael Jackson and Vitiligo on youtube and you would see evidence of it.. It started right after the Thriller album… Im surprised the media kept this all a secret from people they got the black people thinking MJ was a self-hating black man…..
@PINK PANTHER..
It sickens me with this new sudden hypocrisy, MJ posts barely got any positive comments but now suddenly people love him? hypocrites… By the way that MJ post has been deleted lol… I guess they were ashamed of themselves…..
@ 20. The post is here: http://concreteloop.com/2...r-rose-vs-michael-jackson Doesn’t seem like it was deleted to me.
The comments were sickening, but that doesn’t mean people commenting on this particular post were the same ones downgrading him on that one.
Mike is a trendsetter forever imitated but no one could ever duplicate the King.
LONG LIVE THE KING!!!!
I LOVE YOU MICHAEL JACKSON AND I WILL MISS YOU FOREVER. YOU CAN NEVER BE REPLACED. REST IN PEACE, HOPE YOU CAN TEACH ME HOW TO MOONWALK WHEN I GET THERE. LOVE YOU!!!
people are acting really weird since MJ passed. We all know he wasn’t himself those last 5 years. His early career and those thriller days were when he was setting those dope trends. Towards the end he was wearing pajamas and looking crazy. KEEP IT REAL. He will always be a legend, but people need to stop acting like he was 100% perfect ALL THE TIME!
I love him!!!!! I always have loved his personal style & his hair. JHERI curls. omg! I may be only about to turn 15 next week….but I love me some michael. He’ll forever live in all of our hearts as Janet stated. God rest his soul and bless the family.
He’s now experiencing joy like no other and having the time of his life.
Great post, Tianna.
Thank u so much Tianna for sharing this with us and remembering Mr M.J.Jackson as one of the greatest artist of our time! He gave sens to the word “Entertainer”. I’m a fashion designer and I must say that he had and he will always have an impact on me as artist. He was unique because he was visionary. He was unique because he was different. Thank Allah I could witness such talent. I love you Michael.
I may crack on you every now and again, but this was so sweet of you to do, Tianna. Great job.
@CICIFANWORK he had vitiligo. i think any bleaching he might’ve have done was b/c of this
and i didn’t comment on that who rock’d it best post but i’m saying now that michael had great style. from what i’ve heard, decarnin (the guy who designs for balmain now) used michael as inspiration which is why the clothes look so michael-esque. wasn’t an accident. i was watching the “bad” video and i love the buckles on the pants. he was fly and he rarely got it wrong. the “beat it” outfit, the “smooth criminal” outfit, hot. i’ll admit that i never noticed his clothing b4 b/c i was a fan for the music first and foremost but looking back on his videos and performances, i realize that he could be pretty stylish
r.i.p. michael
WOW HE REALLY HAD A ONE OF A KIND UNIQUE STYLE.
IM NOT GONNA LIE PRIOR TO HIS DEATH I DIDNT REALIZE HOW YET ECCENTIC BUT AMAZING HE WAS. I THINK HIS FAULTS AND UNUSAL BEHAVIORS SHADOWED THE MAN OF TALENT SOMETIMES.
IM ONLY 21 SO WHEN HIS MUSIC WAS SOARING TO THE TOP OF THE CHARTS I WAS GROWING IN MY MOTHERS STOMACH LOL BUT NEVER THE LESS HE WAS STILL APART OF MY CHILDHOOD. I REMEBER MY COUSINS FATHER WOULD PLAY MJ AND THEY WOULD PRETEND TO BE MJ, TRYING THEIR BEST TO DANCE LIKE MJ. BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES THANKS TO MJ!
RIP MICHAEL JACKSON

Michael Jackson was larger than life and a part of my childhood. He touched the world. When he was going through it in and out of court for false allegations the US media condemned him and where was the Black Community for Michael at that time? For a minute Michael had to leave this country to go live elsewhere. I remember when I was working on the social marketing Thriller 2008 project A LOT of the urban bloggers were smashing MJ and as well A LOT of their viewers. I am sure some folks feel stupid or bad now realizing this man was loved around the world and he gave soooooooooooo much and leaving some much more in his death.. He was powerful man and humanitarian and rolled with power players in all walks of life all over the world. I found a link today where in other countries they have Michael Jackson stamps.. If you go on twitter they are tweeting about Michael around the clock in EVERY language. The knowledge of this death almost shut down twitter, and google.. WTF.. when have you ever heard of that?.. Who shakes GOOGLE!???
This was a great post by Concreteloop you are LIKE the LARGEST urban blogger.. When you put something out everyone eats off it..
All I ask of you to do is state the facts, celebrate the Michael Jackson Legacy and keep folks informed with the goodness and all this man has done and will continue to do in his immortal life..
i wish people would stop saying he wanted to be lighter
he had vitiligo and covered it up with makeup
it’s all on youtube..the pictures with proof that he had it..there’s one photo when he’s still black but with a patch of lightened skin on his throat…just youtube Michael Jackson Vitiligo and you’ll see it for yourself
MJ WAS LIKE THE FIRST RIHANNA. EVERY ONE HAD TO COPY HIS STYLE, AND EVERYONE LOVE IT. TO THIS DAY PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO DRESS LIKE HIM. HE’s THE KING!
I love that sweater in pic #2 and that jacket in pic #5.
….and the lead girl’s outfit in the Thriller video.
@PinkPanther
did it ever occur to you that the people commenting on this post are not the same people who were trashing him in previous posts? you got some nerve calling every body fake when you don’t know anybody here or how much they may have actually admired MJ while he was alive. yeah there are some people who have changed their tune only after he died, but that’s not everybody.
I will out a piece of his style with mine forever. He was amazing!!!!! RIP MIKE!!!!
@24 NOBODY IS ACTING LIKE HE WAS PERFECT…but His MUSIC AND HIS SKILLS WERE. so hate it or love it little ONE…..MJ was and still is the greatest…so keep that negativity to yourself and let his fans MOURN HIS DEATH BY CELEBRTATING THE WONDERFUL THINGS HE HAS CONTRIBUTED TO THIS WORLD AND HIS INSPIRATIONAL MUSIC THAT HE HAS LEFT US WITH to celebrate his life and LIFE PERIOD.
Because MJ truly cared for all PEOPLE…and all walks of life…NO, he was not PERFECT AND HE WAS LIVIN PROOF OF THAT FOR EVERYBODIES ACKNOWLEDGMENT…that no man is perfect yet we possess the possiblity in being iperfect..Thanks to God……YET IN MY OPINION….
what us fans LOVE ABOUT HIM IS THAT HIS POSITIVITIES OUT WEIGHED HIS NEGATIVITIES. AND THAT HIS MUSIC WASNT SELFISH IT WAS TRULY FOR THE WORLD TO ENjoy…..ppl young and old were seen at his concert…WITHOUT HAVING TO HEAR ABOUT FKN EVERY GIRL IN THE WORLD..OR HAVING A BIG EGO… OR ..HOW MUCH MONEY AND MATERIAL THINGS HE OWNS…OR HOW MANY NIGGAZ HE HATED OR HOW MANY HOZ HE DONE FKD OR HOW MANY NIGGAZ HE KILLED???
so wise up young blood. and show respect where its due. and not focus on his flaws, but what truly made him a special and unique AWESOME MAN to this entire world.
@ TMC
I agree 100%. Michael is not here to defend himself and the media will try to dig up any and everything they can to try to make a mockery of him. He is a legend and should be respected as such. I hope CL continues to post things like this..Positive things about Michael so that some of the younger readers who didn’t get to experience him the way we did will get to see some of what he contributed. Other media will continue to try to destroy his good name and tear down his legacy. It’s up to his real fans to not let that happen.
& I said it then and I’ll say it now…Michael could wear whatever he wanted. He earned the right to do so.
@ DOB
if the shoe fit wear it..if not keep it moving
good day
Shows you how phony fame is….bunch of fake-a$$ negroes all of a sudden justify his bugged out clothing, obsession with looking caucasian (even to the point of claiming white children as his), and pedophilia. Ain’t one of these dumbies gonna dress like this dude, but they’re so desperate to be “nice” (fake) that lies flow like water. 90% of the attire that he wore was to convey masonic allegiance and an understanding of Aleister Crowley’s teachings.
And anyway forget y’all man I had that red jacket AND those glitter socks! lol! Wore it to school & you couldn’t tell me I wasn’t the sh**!
@29, well ur an 80s baby like me, so you should know some if not alot about MJ, because im only 23 and when I was growing up MJ was really and I mean really becoming EXPLOSIVE, with hit songs like Black and White, Man in The Mirror, Remeber the time and so forth……and oooh my goodness when I was a little girl I was absolutely inlove with that song remeber the time….and when I seen SMOOTH CRIMINAL…I THOUGHT HE WAS OH SO FINE AND TRULY MAGICAL TO HAVE PERFORMED SO PRECISE AND MOVE IN AWAY I NEVER SEEN ANY MAN DANCE BEFORE…I was absolutely mesmerized by this man, and still to this very day…….regardless of all the crap the media tried to monsterize him into….My heart did not want to believe and I never will….all I care and respect is the music and talent he offered to this world…his personal life God will take care of….overall….I believe God gave this world Michael for a very special reason, and im truly one very THANKFUL fan. Love you Mike
I love you Michaelllll! R.I.P.
Michael was deff that DUDE. so iconic as mentioned before……truly a great RIP
Michael was such a cutie when he was younger. Like I said, no other artist has been – or will ever be – as influential as Michael.
Nice fashion tribute Tianna! Michael was definitely a trendsetter across the board.
MJ was fly. the military jacket and the beat it jacket are sick!
I always loved Mike, never believed the bull the media said about him. My dad made sure I was introduced to this man for his talent, and the wonderful heart he had. About him getting lighter, like number 31 said..he had the disease and he has admitted to getting surgery to cover it up..but it got worst. It’s not about what he looked like, it’s about what he sounded like. I really wish people wud stop trying to tear him apart..they did that enough wen he was with is. Now he’s not, let’s show respect.
R.I.P.
love the first look and the second look with the sweater (could see Kanye rocking that look and probably he has), the guy was ahead of his time back then in terms of style.
i wanted a black skinny tuxedo because of him…
RIP
Love and miss you MJ!!!
…and aviators.

TRUE FASHION ICON. TRENDSETTER. INNOVATOR. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER.
I love Michael’s style. He kept things simple yet intricate at the same time.
I love his outfit in “Bad” video, I would love to wear something like that, black tights and metal hanging from my waist.
He was voted sexiest man alive during the “Bad” era. He was definately hot to me then too.
yes, he was willing to take risks with his fashion and style.
definitely NOT a follower or a “swagger jacker”
R.I.P. Mike
He was a cutie as a kid & a hottie as a younger man! It’s funny how right before he passed a lot of the trends he started are coming back (the gloves, aviator glasses, jackets w/ appliques, fitted pants, etc.)
RIP MJJ!
Hey Angel please can you do a topic on the disease Michael was living with? He had a condition called Vitiligo, evidence of this can be found on youtube… Its a condition where by the body starts to attack the black pigments of the skin…
