Mariah Carey debuted her new single, “Obsessed” from her forthcoming album, Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel on Chicago radio station B96 on Tuesday afternoon
The track was penned by The Dream (also responsible for her last #1 hit, “Touch My Body”), and sounds like she is taking shots at rapper Eminem, who have been going back and forth on tracks since Mariah’s Charmbracelet album. Memoirs is slated to hit stores August 25th.
I love it!!! But of course, I just love Mariah.

I love the heavy hitting lines! Pow! The autotune isnt used to coverup anything, it works well for this style of song. We all know mariah still has the voice, dont be ridiculous! She always manages to remain relevant, and does so by doing music she likes.
I just love this ish! Can’t nobody do it like Mariah Carey. I must have listened to it at least a dozen times. And this time she used auto tune? That is fine with me because she has been in the business for YRS. And been giving us years non stop and belting out beautiful notes in different ranges. Her ranges are unbelievable. She had me at, Vision of Love.
And what’s this shyt about her being too old to sing on this subjecct matter?? Ladies there are just as many, if not more old fools, as there are young ones. Grown folks know what I am talking about. And since she is not dead, old and cold let the woman do her thang. Sing that shty Mariah!!! And so you’ll know many of your favorite heroes are a lot older than they will ever admit. This is common in the Entertainment World. But you don’t have to take my word for it.
Now as for you Barbie (Tee Hee Hee) or Dreamdoll from MTO. Girrll….You’ve really got an unhealthy relationship with Beyonce. It isn’t normal at all. I have been checking you out and you fight tooth and nail. With blood and sweat, and tears to take up for Bey. I just want to…need to… have to know what is in it for you. I mean does she pay well…No serious, because a sista can use the extra change. And I think I could be good at it too. I will be just like you… a fighting warrior in the scraed name of Queen Beyonce’. I can see me now…dressed up looking like Xena. Lol. Ready to take off somebody’s head with my sword that has been blessed by none other than the Queen herself.
You need to realize that people have their own opinion about everything and everyone. Look at it this way…Opinions are just like having an A**hole…Everybody’s got one. * Hummmm…I hope that helps. It may add a few more years to her life.*
If this way of life helps to fill a void in your mind, body and soul. I have a few suggestions to give ya. Take aaalllllll that energy that you spend defending Bey and instead try helping with issues that really are meaninful. Like world hunger, abused women and children, homelessness, poverty, better schools, become a Big Sister to an unfortunate little girl, participate in church, help the elderly, get a pet etc, etc… I do a few of these things and it is a great pay off. You should try at least one. Because I can’t imagine you all wrapped up into Beyonce’ like that. Worrying and defending some woman who is rich, great performer, loves what she is doing and makes a living at it, married to a husband she adores, traveling the world, very tight with her family. In other words…She don’t need yo help. She’s living a life that most of can only dream of or imagine. And that goes for anyone who is fighting over some damn star. We’ve got enough “Wack Jobs” already loose on the streets. Get it together. And stop worrying about dumb shyt.

I personally think the song is hot and very right now (catchy beat, autotune). At first I thought it was odd she would release this as a first single but then I had to think this will create alot of buzz on blogs, radio stations, etc and hype up her new album coming out. What I dont get is why people are complaning she used auto-tune. It’s not her first time (she did it on Migrate from E=MC2) and lets be honest it sounds very good and EVERYONES doing it right now. So as soon as Mariah pics up a mic and does it then its a problem right? The auto-tune fits the song and beat. People are so OBSESSED with what she does just let that lady live. It has nothing to do with a declining voice. She’s expierementing with new things, new sounds and nothing is wrong with that. She hasnt had a hit this explosive since The Emanicipation of Mimi. I didn’t like this on song the first few listens, but I love it now. The beat really compliments the song. If she had sung in a more agressive tone it would’ve been even better.
