Amerie has completed her new album, entitled IN LOVE & WAR, scheduled to hit stores in August.
The singer is close to unveiling the lead video, “Why R U,” from the album. The vid has been shot by popular video-director Ray Kay (The-Dream, Lady Gaga, & MORE) with a June 8th release date on BET.
IN LOVE & WAR album producers include The Buchanans (“Why R U”), Teddy Riley, Sean Garrett & Eric Hudson, Rico Love, Brian Cox and others.
WHITNEY HOUSTON PICKS RELEASE DATE
Accroding to an Arista Records press release, Whitney Houston’s new album will be released worldwide September 1st. This is Whitney’s 7th studio album, since her 1985 debut. Check out her new promo photo above.
MARIAH SPEAKS ABOUT NEW ALBUM
Mariah Carey is reportedly working with everyone from Jermaine Dupri to The-Dream on her brand new album.
Titled “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” the album is said to be a collection of stories that Mariah says are “for everybody but in a lot of ways are very (related to the) woman empowerment movement”.
Sharing the recording experience with fans, Carey took to twitter over the weekend, stating “Experimenting with my voice in the studio on this new mid temp/ballad..”.
“Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” is due to be released through Island in September.

Good for Whitney, because her album is soo highly anticipated it will sell like hot cakes. However her previous albums have generally been weak so I’m not expecting this to be that great. And despite the fact that everyone has been rooting for her to make a comeback, she keeps letting people down, hopefully that has changed now.
Amerie can’t sing imo, the tone of her voice is as annoying as Christina Millian’s and Ciara’s. I just dont get how she went from One Thing which was such a huge hit to virtual anonymity.
I loove Mariah, her songs old and new are on heavy rotation but releasing an album in the same year and month as Whitney is a BAD idea especially because there is a LOT more hype around Whitney’s album than Mimi’s and people will battle them against each other. I think MC should have waited at least another year before releasing her album.

I keep seeing if Amerie don’t blow up this time she need to sit down…Amerie does not have enough HITS to be relevant…Since when did you appreciate ARTIST based on success???? She may not have enough hits but critics, industry folks and fans KNOW that she has enough good music under her belt…whether it reaches the masses or NOT and THATS why she has a nice lil fanbase that hold her down. Most artist are suppose to be a product but Amerie knows who she is and what she is good at and she stays TRUE to that…whether its sound or style. She may not be an international pop star but she is as she put it also content with being the underdog who makes music she can feel and her fans can feel AND the critics….she is an ARTIST…no puppet like some other successful artist are.
I am checking for Amerie. her because i love it album was really good and i liked most of the songs that were not even gogo. she has a very angelic soprano when it is control and she sounds really good.
I hope she does well on Def Jam and definitely glad she is working with jazmine sullivan’s and Lauryn hill’s producers. i feel like this can be a hot classic.
