Since releasing their video “He Ain’t Wit Me Now (Tho)” about three weeks ago, Rich Harrison’s girl group, Richgirl (SEVEN, LYNDRIETTE, AUDRA, & BRAVE) has been making some waves in the music scene. Word is, the group will be opening up for Beyonce on the North American leg of the “I Am” Tour. Bandmember Audra has confirmed via Twitter:
Okay…I just confirmed GREAT news!!!!!! RICHGIRL is officially opening up for BEYONCE!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH! GOD is sooooo good!
The tour will kick off on in New York City on June 21st at Madison Square Garden. For now you can check them performing during the ‘BK FamFest national tour’ (click here for dates/info). Also keep reading to view video of them singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” live.

There will never be a group that can nail glorious harmonies like Destiny’s Child. These girls can blow and they’re beautiful and they’ll be big, mark my words, but their harmonies are just not what B and the girls (recall “Amazing Grace” from The Writing’s on the Wall) could concoct…Beyonce may have dominated lead vocal BUT where DC was strong was harmonies…u can’t steal their shine there! Either they just had it or their voices just blended so well. Soul-stirring harmonies.
This is in no way putting these girls down…pls may it not be interpreted that way cos I actually dig Richgirl esp their joint “24″, it goes hard!
@ #16- That’s true, they’re no Destinty’s Child, but they seem cool. Didn’t like them at first but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and see where they go from here. I must say I’m impressed that they are opening for Beyonce, but they must remember they’re opening for THE BEST so better bring their A game straight.
They surely are lucky to open for Beyonce. Bee just wants an act that won’t possibly outshine her and she got it with these chicks. LOL

I wish them the best…But I have to be honest I listened to the video underneath of them sing “Over The Rainbow” it sounds like a bunch of noise…No harmony…The only female group where everyone can sing and they had great vocal compatibility was EnVogue ….I have nothing against Destiny’s Child but I never heard LeToya sing till recently or LaTiva period they did sound good singing Amazing Grace but Beyonce and Kelly seemed like they did most of the vocals then….So I would only say EnVogue

@19 I kinda agree a bit…All these girls here can sing…and I would agree the first group of Destiny Child was great…the second not so much…I really didn’t like Michelle too much or her voice I just never felt like she really fit the group….I think Michelle is fab, but just by herself…

Yes the girls can sing, but they sound very “done up” which makes me wonder how much of this is raw talent. Get four “attractive” girls, give them vocal coaching for two years and dance classes and bam you have a new girl group. Obvously they must have had some talent to begin with but they do sound very polished, and I prefer groups like TLC where the talent was raw and untamed. For the time being I’m not feeling them but that might change
And they do remind me of DC when they first started but there a lot more polished than DC was. I guess Beyonce’s keeping her enemies closer by letting them be her opening act, she knows people are gonna compare Laundrette to her and she wants to give the impression that she’s not threatened by her clone. Nothing screamed SuperStar – but hey they’re young, fresh, and talented so who knows what the future holds. Lots of time for growth though. TLC still holds the record as best selling female group of all time. Correct me if im wrong
