Since releasing their video “He Ain’t Wit Me Now (Tho)” about three weeks ago, Rich Harrison’s girl group, Richgirl (SEVEN, LYNDRIETTE, AUDRA, & BRAVE) has been making some waves in the music scene. Word is, the group will be opening up for Beyonce on the North American leg of the “I Am” Tour. Bandmember Audra has confirmed via Twitter:
Okay…I just confirmed GREAT news!!!!!! RICHGIRL is officially opening up for BEYONCE!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH! GOD is sooooo good!
The tour will kick off on in New York City on June 21st at Madison Square Garden. For now you can check them performing during the ‘BK FamFest national tour’ (click here for dates/info). Also keep reading to view video of them singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” live.

I hate when this non-singing idiots round up together to put a “put the CD on play and let me lipsync” show with fireworks and ammergedon foolery to dumb people about their lack of talent. I’d rather see a talented singer do her thing…established or not.
Yes, I love these girls. Now I will go and get my ticket. They can really sing! Seven has an amazing voice and Lynn sounds just like Beyonce with the vocal training! I think they would do well. They needed exposure and now they are getting it! I know than can blow. I hope their preformance be good!

They should reduce some of the runs, it’s overdone and that”s played and doesn’t sell much music anymore…Monica singing with KC in “Trust”…is a good example of showcasing vocal ability, with lite runs and not overpowering lyrics. All singers should reach back and tackle “phrasing”….sing along with “Ella” into their own styling..i.e. Chrisette Michele….that’s what’s missing from music…inflection and great tonality…some minor vocal tweaking and these girls will capture a major market share…the buying public is consciously and unconsciously demanding original, soul-stiring music, not just some vocals laid across tracks with similar or familiar hot beats and catchy hooks, sold with soft porn videos…there is no magic in this formula…because it’s a familiar sound, people will listen, but black people aren’t going to neccessarily go out and buy. We’re not that kind of “fan.” Even the marketing strategy of creating a “music experience” for consumers will get old and not be effective…the record companies have to allow artists the room to fail, meaning low record sells without getting dropped to change the taste of today’s music that’s not capturing the heart s and propelling people to go out and buy music, not for the masses…you’ll have a few like Mariah, Alicia and Beyonce who can do the numbers, but they can’t generate enough sales to save this industry from record losses. It’ll take a minute…Quincy Jones says it takes 20 years or a generation to change a culture and to change mediocre music, it’ll take some time. Gimmicks and marketing ploys only work for so long, real music and giving artists their freedom would proved very profitable over the long term. People not buying means they’re not buying crap! Even appealing to “Pop, Gospel and Country” genres will become over saturated…it’s basic economics…so as black fans or stans allow artists to be individuals and express their creativity without the “who’s the best” or who jacked who,” the more music will be sold. Idolatry is flattering, but your own self-worth is more empowering! “You’re worthy simply because you were born!” As a woman, black, white or other, you are challenged to just have a place in a man’s world.
PPL PLEASE stop comparing Beyonce to every artist who makes some noise and generates a buzz…this is a great opportunity for this new group and she needs them every bit as much as they need her!

Janet didn’t have strong vocals, so being the best is subjective and not important! No one has topped her catalogue of music and videos in terms of making timeless music, turned into instrumentals by smooth jazz artists, some of the best videos and concerts ever, huber sexy with her clothes ON and never sold a soft drink or a fragrance and still ranked high on previous Forbes list, I know number 7 in 2007 or 2008, go figure! Since then she hasn’t been working much, enjoying her life after she fell off. So let these girls have their shine because they do shine! I love their video and they’re simply gorgeous. They remind me of a mix of The Spice Girls, Pussycat Dolls and Destiny’s Child with cast of Envogue (the had best harmonies from last two decades) with a little more fine tunning and a playfulness like TLC…Richgirl is working it!!!

I love these girls and am so proud of them. I think they are four talented girls who are using their God given talents to make an honest living. It’s sucks that new acts constantly have to be compared to the greatest. I don’t think they are trying to be like them, but instead follow the path that ones before them have laid and within time develop into superstars. GO RICHGIRL! CONGRATS!

it was good, but it was a little too much going on with the song. and they came in too strong for me. but they definitely have beautiful voices. oh, and what was with all of the hand signals? that doesn’t really help you sing. all in all they’re really sexy, but the one with the gold hair is by far my favorite.

I understand what everyone is saying about Richgirl not being En Vouge or Destiny’s Child. I don’t think that’s what they’re aiming for anyway. Why can’t we just enjoy a girl group that is still together and can actually sing? If you’re going to try and compare them to someone, compare them to Electrik Red. And if they did sound just like En Vouge or Destiny’s Child, people would still be upset. Look at how people react to Lyndrinette who “favors” Beyonce. Just saying
