Sure she doesn’t have the most soulful voice or even the most contepary voice but she can sing nonetheless, you say “bad product in nice packaging” I don’t understand that because Amerie has rally yet to make a large dent in the industry……. I like Amerie. Her voice is unique, but she hasn’t taken any risks with it. With her albums I haven’t heard any growth. I usually only like maybe 2 or 3 songs from each album she releases (I’m still listening to Paint Me Over from her last album).

If she could just get more hits like 1 Thing, Touch, Why Don’t We Fall In Love…, then she’d do very well, but she keeps coming back with songs that sound like THIS!

Only the people who don’t really listen to her music say that “it all sounds the same”. And most of the people that say that she can’t sing, or says that she’s not talented, & just a pretty face, end up listening to crap & crap singers anyway. Since 2002, she has been the most underrated chick in R&B. It’s a shame!

She may not be the best vocalist, but she’s no slouch either! She also has a nice package of brains, beauty, integrity, & artistic value. To me, she actually has what it takes to be a good role model for young ladies. And, all 3 of her albums have good/great music non stop!

“Why R U?” is a good song that has edge & flavor. The video is a visual treat! The song may not be a top 10 hit, or a crossover hit, but is that really all that matters? I don’t understand what’s wrong with people’s taste in music nowadays, and why there’s only room for a few female singers to get shine?

I love how some are saying that her voice is one of the reasons why she isn’t popular, but you have automatons like Pon de Forehead running around with all types of fame.

However, I do agree that Amerie needs a stronger single. I still like her, though. She doesn’t change her style because of trends and she has a very pretty voice.

The truth is, Amerie is a very talented, unique singer and gorgeous at that. But I feel like she’s altered her image and style, just so she can contend with the more popular female musicians of today. She wants to be different, have a different sound but she is trying wayyyy too hard. She can’t find her niche. Honestly, her first album was amazing, it sounded beautiful, natural and sincere. It was widely underrated but that’s because she wasn’t trying to contend with the divas of the industry, she just wanted to make good music. Wow this song is NOT a hit. I said that when CL posted it last week. Come on this is her 4th damn album. I thought 3 was a damn charm. If you didn’t get it one of the first 3 times I don’t think it is going to happen. 1 thing was like the biggest hit she ever had but was overshadowed because Beyonce decided to jack her swag. Her voice is not appealing at all. There is like no way to get around it. Even if they used some studio magic to enhance it it’s still not the business at all.

I love Amerie, I love her voice always have. I think she’s an underrated talent. The thing I like about her is that she doesn’t do music for the record sales, or for the money she just loves it.
