Up and coming singer Shontelle released a brand new music video with director Jessy Terrero, for her next official U.K single “Battle Cry” last week.
The 23 year old, who recently opened for Beyonce, is from Barbados and reportedly good friends with Rihanna. She was recently signed to Universal Motown Records and you can get more info about the upcoming artist on her official website.

THIS SONG IS TERRIBLE, WHOEVER LIKES IT SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO GET THEIR EARS TESTED. BECAUSE IT IS OFFICIALLY GARBAGE AND SO IS SHONTELLE.
SHE IS NOT A STAR, SHE HAS NO STAR APPEAL SO SHE NEEDS TO GO BACK TO BARBADOS AND DO SOMETHING THAT IS MORE SUITED TO HER, LIKE MAKE COCKTAIL DRINKS OR SUMMAT!
THE SAME GOES FOR ALOT OF BLACK ARTISTS NOWDAYS, THEY ARE GIVING BLACK MUSIC AND THE FUTURE BLACK GENERATION A BAD NAME!
BET AWARDS SED IT ALL FOR ME. I WAS DISGUSTED BY THE LACK OF TALENT THAT WAS THERE.
IT MAKES YOU REALISE HOW MJ WAS A TRUELY BLESSED MAN AND TALENT LIKE HIM DONT COME OFTEN!
I WAS ALSO DISGUSTED WITH HOW SELFISH THE MUSIC ARTISTS WERE, THEY DIDNT EVEN TRY, THEY RUSHED THEIR PERFOMANCES AND THERE WERE TIMES ON THE SHOW THAT I FORGOT I WAS WATCHING AN AWARD SHOW THAT WAS MEANT TO BE TRIBUTED TO MJ. IT WAS TERRIBLE!
I PRAY TO GOD AND MJ THAT THEY BRING US SOMEONE THAT HAS GOT TALENT AND WILL REVIVE BLACK MUSIC, BECAUSE AT THE MOMENT IT LOOKS LIKE ITS IN CRITICAL CONDITION!
LOL @ 59 DO YOU BLAME HER??????
I SURE DONT!!!!
BET AWARDS WAS A DISGRACE, THEY DIDNT HONOUR MJ AT ALL!
AND THE BLACK PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE MADE ME SICK!
I THINK TALENT IN BLACK MUSIC DEAD!
ALL THIS FKERY AS TO STOP..
ANGEL KEEP DOIN YA THING BET DONT DESERVE A MENTION, I RESPECT YOU FOR DOIN THAT GAL!
WE WILL HONOUR MJ IN OUR OWN SPECIAL WAY…
Wack Shit.
At first I was highly upset with the so called “tribute” BET gave our musical legend Michael Jackson during the award show but then I actually thought about how much time was actually given to create such an honor to him which in reality wasn’t much. Michael died three days before the show which meant (and showed) they had to scramble and come up with concepts and artists to pay their respects. I feel as though BET should have done a short but meaningful tribute to him at the very beginning of the show with the regular scheduled program following after. That would have made a lot more sense without all of the random Michael Jackson tributes thrown in here & there. To me it just looked a mess and made it seem like BET didnt care enough for him to take the time out to create something truly amazing. We all understand Michael’s death was unexpected so BET shouldn’t have felt the need to rush anything. Do a tribute at the beginning and then announce that you’ll be planning something huge for Michael in the coming weeks to honor him. I am just disappointed with Debra & Stephen and felt that they went about this the wrong way.
Even without the tributes to Michael the show would still be garbage. I only enjoyed Beyonce’s performance (even though her choice of song seemed really random, I couldnt deny how beautiful & angelic her voice was), Ne-Yo’s tribute to MIchael, Keyshia Cole & Monica (Keyshia was okay but Monica of course killed it), the tribute to the O’Jays, The O’Jay’s, and Maxwell. Everyone else either did okay or just a flat out terrible job and it shows that this generation lacks true talent. Weezy’s performance was unacceptable and a disgrace. If you don’t know why I state that, check out the video and figure it out for yourself. Nuff said.
shontelle,
please sit down.
thank you.
come again.
ITS AWESOME!
I HATE how all the talentless people on here that are obviously fat ugly women at home alone with jacked up weave and no talents LOVE to slag off other peoples talent
PATHETIC!

What does it matter that tallents flooding in from Barbados with Rih and Shontelle?
Ya’ll really need to get a life and stop bashing these girls.
They friggin’ read your comments,
I’m just hoping your jealous negativity doesn’t affect them,
‘Cause they’re bigger than you,
I mean geeze they’re both in their 20′s
And I bet they’ve achieved more in the past 5 years
Than ya’ll have or ever will in your whole life!

Love it, Shontelle is incredible !
Can’t wait to be hearing this on the radio!
Cute girl. But she may want to come harder than this!
this is a pretty good song with a positive message., and she’s a pretty girl. Nice melody/lyrics. No matter how anyone may feel, they’re gonna put the m$ behind her because she’s successful already. Pop/Rhythmic, & Top-40 will eat this song alive. It’s crazy how they’re starting to go across the water to get new stars, athletes, etc. Things in the U.S. have gotten so sub-par due to ppl not really working on their craft and being an individual, and having their own identity. I only see carbon copies of what’s already been successful. Also, record labels are scared to even take a chance on sum’n new, so now it’s back to the indie scene with grass roots marketing/promo, and only the strong will survive and prosper. get at me on twitter @mike_mogul for consultation on your music
yah, i swear this song was about obama and discrimination….
i like the old song better wher obamas speech was in the beginning..
annnd i dont like the video..
