Lauryn Hill exposed a lot of this in her Unplugged Album. That’s why they made her look crazy before she left the industry, she was speaking too much truth. I’ve recently gone through my CD/Mp3 collection & dumped anything that I deemed objectionable (rap, rock, most neo soul, etc). The only music I listen to now is gospel/faith based or classical-just for when I’m around the house. I’ve noticed a difference in my mood when I’m NOT listening to rap & rock music. I feel a lot calmer. I’ve done the same thing w/ my TV viewing. There wasn’t a lot left-but I’m still entertained (usu I only watch Discovery, News, & a few others).

I think we all need to examine our lives and cut out anything that seems @ all questionable -like a man releasing an album (again) on the day thousands of ppl were murdered, saying ‘he prays to Gotti’ and also ‘murder Jesus’-his words!

@ 216 Imnotthatstoopid I barely ever watch TV. I have to be EXTREMELY bored, watching sports or just catching up on a TV show to watch it. Ive stopped listening to alot of music, I do listen to gospel but I still havent thrown out all my neo-soul/old r&b music. I can count the old school rap I have too. I listen to alot of “weird” music b/c alot of the popular music is just GARBAGE. And I have noticed the change since I have. Even though I dont “stan” for celebrities I do listen to Keri Hilson or Kanye every blue moon. You may not hear it on my iPod but I am aware of the latest music. I’m not saying it’s okay but it’s just crazy to see all my old favorite artists turn out to be something totally different and now I can’t even enjoy what I used to. I have so many questions and I’m very young & still learning. I was just wondering b/c I had dreams of going into the industry but as I get older & wiser I’m really starting to understand the “price of fame” & I’m not willing to pay it!
