Billy Mays, best known for being the popular pitchman of Oxiclean and other various household products, was found dead by his wife at his home in Florida on Sunday morning.
Mays, 50, was aboard US Airways Flight 1241 flying from Philadelphia, which landed roughly when the front tire blew out as it touched down.
Billy posted about it last on his Twitter Saturday night, saying:
“Just had a close call landing in Tampa. The tires blew out upon landing. Stuck in the plane on the runway. You can always count on US Air.”
After the actual flight, Billy told FOX 13 in Tampa that something struck him in the head:
“All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head.”

and note to everyone- if you have a head injury no matter how small it is, get yourself checked. you might be completely fine but at least you didn’t take any chances. i remember when i was younger and i hid my head on concrete. it took me a couple of hours b4 i started to feel pain and i went to the hospital. they said everything was ok but i’m happy i went anyway. we need to be more cautious about these sorts of things

I will miss seeing Mr. Mays on those Oxi Clean commercials. He had a real talent for selling those products, almost had me wanting to call and order a whole box of the thing. Rest In Heavenly Peace Mr. Mays. My condolences to your family!
The funny thing is is that I heard this like 2 wks ago, for real, and was like no he isn’t dead. Then, as we all know, he is dead now. I can’t remember who said something to me, but I swear he/she must’ve seen something coming. Sad.
He must have gotten a concussion from things falling on his head when the plane landed.Did he not go to the hospital?

The update is that he died from a pulmonary embolism and not from the head trauma he suffered on the flight. RIP
he due to have a hip-replacement in 2wks.
