ppl need to understand the law system. both sides have to agree to the plea so clearly the D.A. had no problem with it. he got off easy b/c he was allowed to.

i bet that riri’s lawyers and chris’s lawyers knew they were going to come to an agreement anyway. she doesn’t want him doing time. her lawyer even told the judge that the restraining order wouldn’t be necessary but the judge gave it anyway

i’m wondering why riri didn’t sign a sworn statement or why the d.a. agreed to the plea. i think the initial rumors that riri and chris got back together after the fight are true (though i’m sure they’re not together anymore). she does not want him going to jail and i guess she still loves him.

Well I guess we all see now. I don’t think he should have gotten jail time anyways. Live and learn, he won’t do this again. Chris let this be a lesson now move forward, the past does not dictate the future. And RiRi, the same to you. When its over just let it be over and move on to better things.

Am i the only one that’s cool with him getting community service. It was his first offense, people make mistakes. I mean, if he got jail time, he should have just gotten like 2 weeks or somethin, but this 1440 hours (if he actually does have to pull the weeds, I highly doubt that) will give him plenty of time to think about what he has done. With the way the court system has worked as of late, it seems like a reasonable deal. Probation is no joke. He can’t do too much else. But extensive jailtime would have been a little ridiculous, this is generally what happens with youngsters who mess up for the first time. He’s been pretty clean cut, granted he’s probably beaten her before, he should definitely learn from this.

Actually it was his first offense and 5 years probation is pretty harsh. I got 3 years for agg assault wit a pistol and my P.O. stay tryna catch me slippin so they can locc me up. I don’t know how I feel about this situation, probabation for 5 years sounds tedious, and I think can be compared to jail time in a sense, because, you do have to be very careful, not to violate the terms of the probation.

So @125, I agree with what you wrote, I am sure that R provoked Chris, and I don’t get why she would want to revoke the stay away order, just so she can try to get close to him again and aggravate him to hit her once more. When a situation gets that bad between two people, I truly think it is time for both parties to move on. She’s definitely on some ‘fatal attraction type issh, to still want to be able to get close to Chris.

She needs to pull herself together and realize that she needs her space to grow up and she also needs to learn that her relationship w/Chris was too volatile to begin with and she had just as much to do with that as he did as well. People are so ignorant that they can only see things in one direction. The information that had been released since Feb is Rihanna side of the story ( which I truly didn’t believe) . Rihanna had to agree with any plea deal that was given to Christ Brown. She was never going to testify because it was going to get revealed that the story was tained and she initated the violence. Abuse is not gender specific. Woman abuse as well as men. I don’t believe in the lie that a man should allow himself to be abused by a woman expecally if he’s trying to remove himself from the situation and she is still coming. A real man will never hit a woman and a real woman would never hit a man. There should always be mutual respect if you don’t like what he/she is doing then leave.

I think the sentence fit the crime, but I also think that there are 2 sides to every story. Now what Chris did is wrong dead wrong, but that LIL girl is not all innocent I believe that she wanted this to happen to ruin him, but in the mean time she ruined herself. When u do things to people and expect to get away with it you better be careful because “Karma is a Mother of all Mothers”. Was he right NO!!!. i feel so bad… anything’s better than jail time but i don’t think he deserved what he got.

I like the use of the exclamation point in the title of this post, “No Jail Time!”. Chris Brown should be angry that his lawyer set him up to get a record when he obviously defended himself. That’s why it’s called “court”, because that is where games are played. People actually think that whenever someone pleads guilty, they are actually guilty, smh. The defense attorney, judge, and district atorney are in cahoots with each other and it is at the discretion of the defendant to take his lawyers advice or let the game play itself out before the “jury”. Mind you, this is after his defense attorney has worked out the case already with the district attorney and the defense goes back and attempts to influence the client one way or another. I mean, who was stupid enough to think that he was going to actually get locked up for this nonsense other than some bitter black women, l*sbians, and captain save-a-hos?
