TIME MAG’S SPECIAL COMMEMORATIVE EDITION MICHAEL JACKSON COVER

TIME will publish a special commemorative issue on Michael Jackson to hit newsstands on Monday, June 29.

For the special commemorative issue, TIME spoke with Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Nancy Reagan, Lenny Kravitz, Jesse Jackson, Tommy Mottola, Berry Gordy, Spike Lee, Sheryl Crow, Anjelica Huston, Clive Davis, Al Sharpton, Deepak Chopra, Kobe Bryant, Lance Bass, Oscar De La Hoya, Savion Glover, A.R. Rahman, Peter Gabriel, John Mayer and more.

This special edition of the magazine will be published in addition to TIME’s regular weekly issue and will retail for $5.99.

NEWS: BET AWARDS TO HONOR MICHAEL JACKSON

According to reports, Sunday night’s 9th Annual BET Awards will be dedicated to Michael Jackson, who died on Thursday, June 25 at the age of 50.

BET Networks’ CEO, Debra L. Lee, said the awards show, which honors African Americans in various entertainment media, will pay tribute to the musician’s legacy. It is expected that many of the celebrities attending the show, including scheduled performers such as Beyonce and Ne-Yo, will also acknowledge Jackson and his influence on them.

The BET Awards, which is hosted by Jamie Foxx, will air live on BET Sunday at 8 p.m.

Of those reactions, comes a tribute song, produced by DJ Khalil, from The Game, Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher and Boyz II Men, men who have all been inspired by Michael’s music.
