Mary J. Blige feat. Drake – The One (full) – listen
The final version of “The One” soon leaked after the scratch version of it was released. Apparently, this is the new single that people were gonna get this summer for Mary’s upcoming new album. Mary tapped newcomer Drake for a feature, which probably wasn’t a bad idea considering all the hype around the young MC. Although this wasn’t really the direction I was expecting from Mary, I’m not mad at her. She’s managed to be one of the few who has remained relevant over the years.
Mario feat. Ludacris – Spectacular (full) – listen
Dope new track from Mario, produced by Jim Jonsin. I honestly am really digging this track, which I’m hoping will appear on Mario’s new album, which is titled And Then There Was Me. Mario stated in previous interviews that he was working with no more than 4 producers, for a more cohesive sound on this album, so I hope he’s sticking to his guns. Jim Jonsin does great work, so this could be interesting. I also dig the intensity Ludacris brought with his feature.
Ginuwine feat. Bun B. – Trouble (full) – listen
Check out the third single from Ginuwine’s forthcoming album, A Man’s Thoughts, which is slated to hit stores June 23rd. I was surprised that they weren’t pushing the new Timbaland/Missy Elliott collaboration that everyone was so excited about. “Trouble” is a radio-friendly track, so it doesn’t bother me, and I’m definitely not mad at the Bun B. feature. Make sure you pick up A Man’s Thoughts when it hits stores.
LeToya Luckett – She Ain’t Got… (full) – listen
It seems as though that version the dropped a couple of weeks ago of LeToya Luckett’s latest single, “She Ain’t Got…” was not the final version. Here is the version of the Cory Bold track that will appear on LeToya’s sophomore album, Lady Love. I still am digging the track, my opinion hasn’t really changed. I just wanted to make sure you guys got the updated track.

O Lord, Drake please dont play yourslef out before your album drops. I heard many people this weekend say they are already tired of Drake and his album hasnt even dropped yet. The public is very fickle they love to build you up then tear you down. Go for your man but dont let your star burn out too quickly.

I don’t know why, but the New Music Reviews on Concrete Loop tend to be better in the summer than any other season! I’m feeling these tracks.
Like the Mario and Genuwine tracks. I like the title of Latoya’s song because “She Ain’t Got Shit On Me” (lol) so I was expecting a really good song, but not feeling what I heard at all.
Im not feeling any of these tracks. MJB with that voice thing..not a good look. Mario and Ginuwine can sing so maybe they should just do that instead of the gimmick rapper guest spots. Letoya..hmm nothing to say.
Contemporary R&B is really getting out of hand thinking having a [hot] rapper will enhance a track. What happen to the days of getting a rapper on the ‘remix’ version instead? With respect to Mary and Ginuwine, they are getting a bit older, no need to conform to new industry standards to remain hot. They been out for a decade plus and have a well-established fan base. I just don’t get it sometimes I swear.
