♫ NEW MUSIC: RICHGIRL & CHRIS BROWN - “SMILE & WAVE

Monday, July 13, 2009

♫ RichGirl feat. Chris Brown - Smile & Wave
ALTERNATE LINK

Check out the latest sounds from Rich Harrison’s group, RichGirl, in the form of their new track, “Smile & Wave,” which features none other than R&B crooner, Chris Brown. The collaboration most likely came about because the two share the same label and manager.

Admittedly, I wasn’t a fan of their first single, “He Ain’t With Me Now (Tho),” even though it does do a better job of showing off the girls’ vocal range, however, I think “Smile & Wave” is a little more suited for a radio single. But will this help or hurt the girls due to Chris’s career slump?

I pray that Chris Brown’s career will be back to where it was. People that post dumb stuff like his career is in the slop are just hatters because they know how hott he really is. He is a talented & gifted young man and I think that everything happen for a reason and we shouldn’t be the one who is judging him. Its a lot of people careers we are supporting who are going back and forth to jail and doing drugs and just things that they shouldn’t be doing, but Chris keep your head up. God has so much in store for you.

Geez… why is everyone going on CB for the Rihanna incident. I don’t even care for Chris musically ( I don’t think he can sing too well ), but he is still a talented entertainer and deserves a chance. Hell, you rode with R. Kelly for years and years after he’d been kicking it with 14 yr olds. You might as well rock with CB if you were before.

As for the girls… please go back to your talent: dance. Why do artists even come out if they have nothing of interest to say that can’t be done by the already mediocre talent we already have?

okayy i hate the fact that people use the fact that he hurt Rihanna but we haven’t heard his side of the story. And we are all human and we all make mistakes, so its time to forgive and forget ( but thats honestly something that we all cant forget ) we should at least support him cause we don’t know the truth .

Most of you ppl bashing cb are the same ones that used to bash mj. If cb were to die or anything terrible they will be the first ones saying…”oh he died so young” “had great talent” and all that bs. He is and will be judged by god! Not you! Or you or you!! So stfu!!!! Yall sound dumb and like a broken f-ing record. If you dont like him then dont type or talk about him. Why waste your energy in someone you dont like…???

As far as the song. its ok. nothing spectacular. Cb sound coo but i’ve heard him sound better. And the first girl can sing very well. It will be my first and last time listening, tho. But looking at the choice of music ppl decide to make platinum these days, the song will do both richgirl and cb some justice.

The track is missing some instrumentation and vocals to fill dead spots. It needs more musical highs. The hook is just a little boring. I think they all sound fine, but overall it had me drifting. They kind of remind me of Danity Kane on this song.

I get sick of people talking about black music is dead. Black music/soul/neo-soul is not dead. Buy it! Stop buying the crap. There is Ledisi, Jill Scott and others who are still singing their butts off while these okie doke pop singers and hip hop artists fill the air waves with crap that you buy.

All you people talking about Chris Brown like a young man can’t be redeemed? He said he was wrong and sorry and he said he is going to counseling and he is paying his dues through the legal system and besides, Rihanna did not even want him to go to jail. What are you the moral authority? Don’t buy his music. Don’t go to his concert? Don’t click on the link to listen to the song if you don’t like him anymore and if you don’t think he can sing. The fact that people are still calling on him says that someone disagrees with you on his star power. Besides, you don’t know when they recorded this song. It could have been last year before the Rihanna incident. Is he supposed to stop living his dream because you are mad at him? <ost of us have failed in some way and we kept going and we have to forgive ourselves for falling short.

Okay, how many of you are buying li’l wayne’s stuff while you sit up here and criticize Chris for hitting Rihanna who hit him? Li’l Wayne has children by different women all over the place which is no better than what occurred to between CB and Rih Rih. More fatherless children and unmarried black mothers. Jay-Z hit a woman on video and has the nerve to still perform with Bey and others and people still worship him as a rapper. Hell! Beyonce married him in spite of it. Alicia Keys is sleeping with someon’e husband/a child’s father. Are you going to protest her music and take her music off the air? Queen Latifah is gay. Eddie Murphy is on the dl. Snoop does drugs. 50 cent was a drug dealer. Miley Cyrus is constantly exposing herself on the Internet. B. Spears is bi-polar. Jazmine Sullivan sings about Busting people’s windows. Come on! These people are human just like you.

Listen to the music and judge it. Otherwise, the judgements on CB are simply judgements. Artists are not model citizens - drugs, fornication, abuse, violence. Gimme a break! You are entitled to your opinions too, but you are full of bias and cow dung. If you are so high and mighty and oh-so moral and perfect you would not be buying hardly anyone’s stuff ’cause they are all off into some mess you can’t approve of and maybe you just don’t know it yet.

i like this song..as usual…people hatn on CB…People..we just lost the greatest entertainer of all time..here today, gone today..where is the compassion at?…my God, i read most of your comment and all i can say is God help most of you people…Jesus came and died upon the cross to forgive our sins and i know that most of you people grew up in church and know about God…CB needs prayer and i think..matter of fact i know that God forgave him..and thats whats important..most of you sound like the white media..so digusting…he don’t have to answer to any of y”all, but to God..

I don’t like the song its too 5th grade for me but i don’t think chris brown singing on it gonna hurt the group..like some of the previous peeps say - if anything its gonna bring attention to them all…

The song is aright, I do agree its kinda “young” sounding for women their age, all the best to them regardless!! It ain’t easy in the music industry anymore.

And are we still “hating” (sorry for that word lol) on CB??? Yea, he F’d up big time, but boy has to make a living! And people have the right to feel however they want. But are ppl going to vilify him forever? He can’t learn from his mistakes and become a better person? Isn’t that what mistakes are for? If you don’t like him thats totally cool, but don’t call these girls idiots, dumb, stupid, etc. for collaborating with him. That whole drama is STILL SUSPECT to me! I have no doubt that the media hyped this story up like they hype up all stories, and they definitely made their money of this story too. There HAS to be more to the story that we just dont know, maybe thats why all these celebs (Usher, Diddy, Tyrese, The Game, Busta Rhymes, Shaq, Chris Tucker, Tierra Mari, Lauryn London, Mario, The Jackson Family, Keri hilson, D Wade, Mekhi Pheifer, Kanye West, Dwight Howard, ETC.) arent “black balling” him and they still after all the drama say he’s a good guy, Even the judge commended CB for taking responsibility. What judge openly commends someone for taking a plea deal???? I GUARANTEE they all know something the general public doesn’t, and it makes all the difference. Why the truth isn’t coming out, i have no idea, maybe someone/people are being protected. Hopefully in time the truth will surface, on E True Hollywood Stories or something. One isolated incident is not grounds to label someone an “abuser”. That’s not fair.

Its not fair to say that people who hang out or work with CB support domestic violence or the abuse of women. Thats just ridiculous to me…Seriously??? I know that everyone we love and care about is not a perfect saint and they have done some messed up stuff in the past or even present…do we support every messed up thing they have ever done cuz we hang out with them and still love them??? Jay-Z plead guilty to stabbing someone, does Beyonce support attempted murder cuz she married him?? He also used to sell drugs, does Beyonce support the use of drugs cuz she loves him? come one now…soooo not fair. And it isnt fair to say that people who think the way I do have low self esteem, or were abused and are weak and/or stupid/idiots (like what some ppl would say earlier). SMH at people who do that, again…not fair.

And LOL @ people who say they will never support or listen to CB music or anything he is involved with but still click on the post to listen to the song that clearly says “…& CHRIS BROWN”

Sorry for the essay by the way…

DEUCES-2!! =)

I like the song…the girls sound great…they’ll do well!!!…Christ has or will reap what he sowed…we all do…I believe in second chances…this was a big move to put them together…but, somehow I think it’ll work…the man behind this scene seems to know a little about the bizness…excerpt from group bio…

“Richgirl

Rich Harrison, known for his hit records “Crazy in Love” (Beyonce), “Soldier“(Destiny Child), “One Thing” (Amerie), & many more is here to introduce the world to a new vision.

Rich Harrison’s label, Richcraft Records, and Jive Records, present a new era with the new four-member girl group: Richgirl. In this case the word “Rich” does not refer to material items, but rather a certain attitude and confidence, combined with individuality and talent that any girl might possess.

Richgirl consists of four multi-talented young women, who reign from different parts of the country. All have different backgrounds and experiences, but each has a common thread that brings them together: the same passion and love for creativity, expression, music and entertainment. ”

We haven’t had a girl group with equal opportunity in awhile…Go Richgirl…the ball is in your court…

This song was recorded WAYYYYY Before the Chris/Rihanna incindent, so it is very IGNORANT to call the girls dumb for recording a record with Chris Brown. They have the same manger so it was a no brainer that some kind of collab would happen.

This is a very good record and Richgirl is well on their way to being STARS and the next IT group of our time.

I think people would find it easiert to forgive if Chris showed soem kind of remorse for the incedent. The only thing I saw regarding him adressing what happned was that letter where he pretty much blamed rihanna’s camp for speaking out, but never admnitted or apologized for anything. And that ignronat azz unitelligible youtube video with Omarion where he still didn’t apologize and made himself sound like a country ass fool.

First of all, this song is okay! These girls can really sing. There are not like the non singers who you all are in love with. They just need some mad writers who would give them a good RnB ballard. They really have potential! As for Chris,God has forgiven him and you all still have a problem with him. To this day,you people try to analyze a situation without having all of the information to do so! We don’t know what actually went on to lead him to do whatever! I don’t believe in abuse, but this boy is very young and talented! He need to be given another chance. I see if he was 30-40 and constantly abuse women, but this was a one time thing. He has already been through enough! I know you would rather see him lock up,but if he should be locked so do all these other singers/rappers who have done that and more. I really think he has learn his lesson. We live and learn from our mistakes. Most of today’s artists have done for more, but you all still support them!

I think the song is hot, and I’m really feelin this group. Hate to say it but Chris Brown ain’t going nowhere, so people might as well just stop with his career is over and what not. People are checking for his music even more now after everything happened, and the media is waiting for his every move. As long as the media is still after you, then your career is in full swing.

The song is a great radio song, and I think it will boost them a bit. Lyndriette (I think that’s her name), killed in this song. I like when her voice does real heavy.

Not a bad song, but, sadly, the type to be forgotten forever within a few months. The music industry is nothing more than a “hit machine”—- mass-creating songs that only temporarily satisfy the ears and do LITTLE to NOTHING for the soul. Meaningless lyrics beyond the surface that will not carry on to future generations. Black musicians and songwriters are losing their soul to what the MASSES, who are mostly white by the way, tell them they want to hear. Via the record executives, who are NOT MUSIC LOVERS, ONLY MONEY LOVERS who are highly educated in marketing and business. They shrug their shoulders, compare received demos to the “hottest thing” out at the moment, and make decisions based on that alone. I say this: just as the inhabitants of Earth are capable of destroying their own planet, the creators of black mainstream music are also ready to neglect the soul of the music. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Commercial jingles are best used when? When trying to make a sale. Advertisers care little about its consumers, but much about its consumers’ wallets. The soul is priceless and wanting. The soul is priceless and wanting. The soul is PRICELESS and WANTING.

@ 60 Tell them like it is, these special females who think we should get over the dumb F*** CB for being a batter has another thing coming.

I hope these same people who say ‘get over it’, God forbid something unfortunate like this should happen to them, that others ‘get over’ their ‘battered experience’ of getting knocked the f*** out, you see what you don’t care about another individual shall come upon the ground you walk one day, but interestingly many don’t understand the way Karma truly works.

The CB’s of the world can go you know where with their weak punks a** for bullying a female using their physical strength and to top it off the jerk doesn’t show any remorse, double F*** him and his arrogant menatlity….

When a person show geniune remorse is only when they should be forgiven, not a second sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what’s more scarier than CB being a batter is the imbalance mentality of MANY of these females who thinks so it happened and to ‘get over it’, now that’s frightening and truly sad to witness…

Despite the negative comments I’ll tell you something that is down right scary….where is all the heartfelt good music gone. It’s still here mainly in neo-soul but noone is…well mainstream isn’t checkn for them. Why because most neo soul ppl are not what mainstream execs wants us to like visually.

I like this girl group. I also like Chris but music is really in a ridiculous state right now. I miss the D’angelo and Lauryn Hill days…more so I miss them. It’s sad today in music.

Ppl (me included in the past) jam to music that downgrades us as women. Music where ignorant fools talk about sleeping with this girl and that girl (which only helps the AIDS epidemic) and I watch women actually boppn their heads to it.

I can go on and on but I won’t. God help us because your ppl are lost and settling and as far as music goes these days…GARBAGE!

Things I’m lovin right now…Solange album…Jay Z song DOA…other than that I jam to the 90’s music…Joe, Ginufine (lol), Jill Scott, dag there is more but oh yeah D’angelo, Lauryn Hill and the AWESOME E. Badu!

People WAKE UP!

Just like people chould not take Chris’ situation and use that against him. Mabey he might not be able to make a comback into a big star again (although with the right PR I think he will) but he writes songs on many people’s albums. So he won’t stop making money in the music business. Please people open your mind.

i love this song and i’m happy that featured chris.

And to all you chris brown haters just because u went through abuse issues and you have no compassion,….don’t use chris as your anger..you don’t know him and u don’t know what happened that night …i hope all you haters aren’t christian, if you are you should be ashamed of yourself for judging others and not being able to forgive

The fools talking about Chris Brown’s Career over he’s a woman beater, are the same one’s that still listen to R. Kelly. So inconsistent.

Rihanna Shoulda Stayed In The Car

Chris sounds good on here, and like other people said, Rihanna wants to stay with him, she was just upset that one night and brought too much attention to herself. The song is typical mainstream, but it’s whateva….

Smile and Wave makes me think of the penguins from Madagscar…they should change the title to something cuter.
I like the song, those girls can actually sing, which is rare nowadays. I saw them when they were opening for Beyonce in Sacramento last week and I was impressed, I wish they would’ve had a longer set then just ten minutes!
Oh, and as for Chris Brown, controversy can’t erase talent. That is all.

Stop assuming folks still support kelz it makes you look dumb seeing that kelz last 2 or 5 albums have been unsuccessful
So obviously folks stop supporting him
And there are plenty of stations that STILL dont play his music at all

Stop assuming folks listen to lil wayne wack ass or some other wack artist like him

Stop saying you dont know Chris Brown but then say hes a nice young man or this was a 1 time mistake
Because again WE dont know Chris Brown so you cant vouch for him
And from what I saw only 3000 & some change ppl signed the petition for Chris to perform
Last I checked that aint enough for a comeback that just about enough to fill a school
Most folks defending Chris are young naive girls…..
And dont know what REAL music is because CB music has no substance and meaning and he can barely sing

REALLY?!

If you don’t like the song, then that’s one thing. However to not like a song because the person featured on it supposedly did something you didn’t like is stupid. Yes, he messed up, but it’s time to move on from the incident. Chris’ career is far from over so just stfu with that. I dont understand why some of you felt the need to comment, since you ‘dont like’ Chris Brown. It is what it is though. I understand Rihanna stans of the world feel the need to unite, but please don’t underestimate the power of true talent.
