Similar to Rihanna, singer/songwriter Keri Hilson was spotted all over Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
She first hit up the MTV studios for a taping of ‘It’s On w/ Alexa Chung’ to promote her latest single, “Knock You Down” and then she taped her ‘Rising Icon’ segment later on that night at BET studios. Check out all her looks below.

That may be so,but Keri isn’t selling like Rhianna. Other than these boards nobody talks about this chic. She’s still pretty much unknown. Plus,she just doesn’t have “IT” IMO.
keri is a ok artist, but her attitude is very off putting (yesterday on 106 she was saying how “others wish they had this award” and goin laugh– it was a awkward pause after that crap). She needs to work on being more humble and she’ll be aiight.

Carrying on frm my last comment (4 sum reason it got posted b4 i was fully done =P haha).. I can’t help but notice that all of the artists who r out 2day (with the exception of mayb Chris Brown and 2/3 others) who r actually sellin records worthy of the promotion and marketin they get, and outsellin tours around the world, winnin awards, toppin charts in numerous countries etc., r artists who came out in the 90s. Seriously, think about it. Beyonce – 97. Britney Spears – 98. Justin Timberlake – late 97. Mariah – 1990, etc. & lemme guess, someones gnna try and give an excuse like: “Yehh, true, but that’s only cause such artists have been out 4 a longer time than ppl like Keri Hilson, Rihanna etc., and so have had more time in which 2 build up a fanbase!” That’s BS! I think it’s cause in the 90s, the standard of talent was sooo much higher.
Ppl like Keri would have NEVER in a MILLION yrs even got a look-in backk then. The idea of someone like this chick gettin a record deal in, say, 95 or 97 or 99 even, would have been laughable. But 2day her, not 2 mention many others like her, r gettin record deals like THAT, which 2 me personally just goes 2 show the low level to which the standard of music has sunk in the noughties.
“Rising Icon” my big toe! Can anyone readin this post actually say, hand on heart, that Keri will go down in history in the same way as greats such as Aretha Franklin or Bob Marley or Michael Jackson (may his soul rest in peace). Now THAT is an icon. I was born in 92, yet songs such as Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Bad, Rock Wth You, Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough, Black or White, amongst COUNTLESS of the other masterpieces that that phenomenal man gave us in his lifetime, are on my iPod, with many being on my “Most listened” playlist. These are songs thatt came out 10, 15, in some cases (i.e. Thriller, for instance) 20 years before I was born!!! Can u honestly say that we will still b listenin 2 Turnin Me On in 5 years? Even 2?? Just something 2 think about…

This is what kills me. If we say Michael is an Icon than how can we say Keri, Neyo or Chrisette are going to be one in the same breath? They would have a century to got to even try and catch up with MJ. Talent yes Icon no.
Though I hate to say it the closest one to be an Icon in Entertainment only is B. But that’s in entertainment. Michael was an international, philanthropist who broke color barriers along with making music and giving Neyo, Usher,Cb etc moves to work with.
People are being too harsh i think, in regards to her look here. I think she looks good.
The problem with her is she’s just SO AVERAGE. In beauty, voice, dance, performance, you name it. she’s so plain! like i can find her in a karaoke bar or something. To be honest, I don’t see her going very far or becoming and icon(contrary to what BET says) but i can appreciate her for what she does and for living her dream, can’t i?

I guess I’m considered a Bey fan (or stan lol) but don’t get me wrong I would love for someone else to come out a ruffle Bey’s feathers like someone said before, to be totally honest I’m sure Bey wish she had some REAL competition because she’s competitive. Angie Stone, India Arie, Music, Raheem,Robin, and Jill Scott etc… will still be able to pack a concert hall. I mean really, are you gonna be bumping Turnin’ Me On in Twenty years?
