Visual artist/ performance painter David Garibaldi hit me up earlier this week and shared his new paintings of legendary entertainer Michael Jackson. I was blown away by them and had to show him some love on the blog.
In what he calls the Pop Trilogy, here is what he sent me:
I am a Performance Painter from Sacramento, CA and I read Concrete Loop everyday, and it keeps me up to date on my Urban Pop Culture. It influences my art subjects in a huge way, and just wanted to share with you these paintings I just completed in honor of the king.
Prints aren’t available for purchase, but if you want more info on them check out David’s official site. Peep larger versions below – sooooo dope!

This work is so beautiful!
Simply beautiful.
AWESOME!!
@49 you’re right. I always loved MJ and i never really “dogged” him per se. Maybe there were times when i disagreed with what he did, ie, the allegations and the baby dangling and whatnot, but plenty of people still loved him and respected him while he was alive. I do know that many people who never really liked the older MJ are now paying tribute, and i find that fake, but at the same time it’s like they are now realizing what a true genius this man was. I heard a quote online somewhere “Dont wait until someone is dead to give them flowers” These pictures are amazing and im glad David G is paying tribute.
I love it! great job!
BEAUTIFUL….GREAT JOB DAVID
LOOOOOOOVE THE ARTWORK!!! HE NEEDS TO MAKE ONE OF ME NOW!!!
Wow!! these are beautiful, he needs to make them available to the public, why would you create something so beautiful and not allow the public the pleasure of owning a piece of this exquisite art?
Those are absolutely amazing!!! I clicked the link, and it doesn’t work.
Glad you have them posted on this site. Truly beautiful.
Very nice!…. that quote??.. ummm did he have anything to say about working on the pieces?? That would have been more interesting.
This shoulda been done before he died, not after -cause he was BEEN worthy of paintings
..like seriously these paintings should been done years ago
..JUST MY OPINION
Beautiful!!!
