I know this might sound strange, but as they were playing, I wondered to myself if they ever trade off victories. You know their sitting in the hotel room one night and venus goes…well i won the last 2 you can have this one, something like that. Being that their sisters I always wondered that.
Now I know they play their a*ses off so I’m not saying they don’t give full effort, just a thought, hehe! I will say it’s both excitement and dissapointment when they play one another because one of them has to lose, hate that but I like watching them play.
It was funny when they were interviewing Serena & they asked her about that one chick who is # 1 & she said since she has never won a major & I’ve won 2 Maybe I should be # 2 lol It was funny because she was trying to be serious but they kept laughing @ her comments.
She was calling the girl out because she has never won a major. Yall have to see it’s hilarious!! lol
Im sooo proud of both them!!! They were making it rain on them other chicks this year!! lol Im glad Serena won because she hasn’t won it since 03 so it had been a long time coming, lol but aleast Venus didn’t go home empty handed.

@12, I was watching espn (show PTI) one day during the semi rounds and they said wimbledon does that because they want onle pretty girls in the tournament. I took that as they only want pretty white girls. They said many of the higher ranked girls who hadn’t won a major title were ranked above the williams sisters because their more attractive….Now ain’t that some sh*t!

For the first time, I actually felt bad that Venus lost to Serena. She seemed so sad at the final. And I love them both but I always root for Serena because she has such a never give up spirit and I love that about her. Anyway she looks fabulous and I cannot wait to see her and Venus at the DC Castle event next week. Tennis is the new black.

@14 and others..Players are ranked according to the number of points you accumulate at the tournaments, so if you play in more and advance to the later rounds you get more points. S and V do not play as often as most. Why I don’t really know, but when they do, its magic. But if you play 15 tournaments and get to the quaterfinals or semis for most of the tournaments you rack up points but if I only play 3 tournaments, even if you win all three its likely that you will not be number one. That is what happened with Serena and Dinara Safina. Safina has played more tournaments then Serena and she usually gets far in the tournaments, mostly because the Williams are not there to whoop that ***. S either have to play more and/or continue to win the major titles to regain her number one spot. Its not about beauty because most of those chicks are not cute, they are TWG. You probably said tha to be funny 14 but I think S & V are fabulous, lets see you run up and down and court for 1 to 2 hours and see what you look like hater!

Well, for one, Safina (#1) is NOT a pretty girl, she’s actually pretty thick and mannish looking… Ranking is a mathematically sound formula, not something you can fudge.

i was expecting venus to win it again this year cos the girl was fierce over the cousre of the tournament. never dropped a single set and the way she whooped safina’s ass in the semi’s was ridiculous. definately makes you think whether they trade victories cos V had the upper hand. but anyhoo, the title is still in the Williams family for another year so its all good.
but federer though…15 grand slam titles……and i don’t think he is planning on stopping at all.

i think you got the story wrong. as i’m from the UK i can tell you for a fact that the BBC and Wimbledon organisers admitted that looks have a role in dictating what court female players play on. Centre Court and Court No.1 are the show courts reserved for the highest ranking players- but a lot of the high ranking female players S. Williams, Safina, Kuznetsova complained that they were being pushed to smaller courts and this would never happen to high ranking male players- it was then admitted that low ranking but ‘prettier’ females were being put on the big courts because they attracted a higher television audience- in the US the Williams sisters might be a big draw but in the UK they are not very popular… totally crap but true. The story was in a lot of UK newspapers- plus I really wanted Venus and Andy Roddick to win.
Awwwwh them girls are far above the other female players… They keep smashing them all yet those idiots in Wimbledon still manage to badmouth them… They are still around for a long while and will continue to dominate…
I’m just glad that the number one (safina) and number two females are not skinny little chicks..gooo real women!!! matches have all been exciting to watch!

All that you said was true. But @14 did have a reason for saying what she did. I have heard several times that pretty girls are selected over other girls. It may be a rumor, but it is out there. I don’t think it’s necessary to call @14 a hater. He/She was only repeating what has been stated before.
