Idris Elba hosted the Lincoln After Dark Event at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, Louisiana over the weekend. The actor was in town for the Essence Music Festival and also DJ’d the event.
Celeb guest included: Steve Stoute, Al Reynolds, Steve Harvey, Brian McKnight (who performed a short set at the party) and more. Shout out to everyone at The Chamber Group for putting together such a classy affair.

Well, Maxwell came on extremely late. His set was supposed to be from 11:30PM-1:00PM and then he was supposed to go to the Lincoln After Party. However, homeboy started madd late and by the time he would have left, it would have been 3:30AM-3:45AM that he would have been arriving to the party. The party was only from 12:00AM-4:00AM.
For someone who hasn’t had an album out in 6 or 7 years, he played himself. Anyway, it is what it is.
Also, Iidris Elba is such a douche bag in person. He has the worst attitude and isn’t even a star. Homeboy: YOUR BIGGEST ROLE TO DATE WAS THAT OF A DRUG DEALER ON HBO. SETTLE DOWN…YOU ARE NOT A STAR.
Besides, he sounded like a f@cking leprechaun in that movie “Obsessed” with Beyonce, since he could not hide his accent.
